On Sunday, the first Tunisian ship participating in the Global Steadfastness Flotilla towards Gaza departed from Gammarth port. It was named after the Tunisian martyr Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, who was martyred in an operation he carried out in the Galilee Panhandle, north of occupied Palestine, in 1988.
The departure of this ship from Gammarth to Gaza, bearing the name of martyr Imran Al-Muqaddami, is considered an honor to his soul and sacrifices, and a symbolic message affirming the continued connection to the primary cause of Arabs and Muslims: the cause of Palestine.
The martyred commander, First Lieutenant Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, was born in 1962 in his city, Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia.
In 1987, he joined the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with a number of his fellow fighters, who chose Palestine as their second homeland, fighting to liberate its soil from the zionist enemy.
On April 26, 1988, he assumed command of the group of the martyred commander “Abu Jihad Al-Wazir,” a member of Fatah’s Central Committee, who was assassinated by Mossad gangs and the “israeli” army at his headquarters in Tunisia on April 16, 1988.
On April 26, 1988, 10 days after the martyrdom of Commander Al-Wazir, the group of fedayeen belonging to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, led by Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, moved towards the occupied land from southern Lebanon, in revenge for the martyred Commander Al-Wazir.
The martyred Al-Wazir group, led by its commander Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, stormed and took control of one of the “israeli” enemy’s bases in southern Lebanon, capturing a large number of enemy soldiers. The enemy refused to respond to the demand to evacuate its prisoners in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinian and Arab prisoners from its jails.
A fierce battle ensued between the two sides, in which a number of “israeli” enemy dead and wounded fell, including the hostages captured by the fedayeen group.
The battle ended with the martyrdom of the three fighters, heroes of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and its Revolutionary Armed Forces: 1- The martyred commander, First Lieutenant Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami (Abu Khaled) (Tunisian); 2- The martyred First Lieutenant Muhammad Hamad Daoud Judy (Palestinian – Nablus); 3- The martyred Assistant Nidal Hassan Abu Khamis (Palestinian, Yarmouk Camp – Damascus).
In an exchange operation between the Lebanese and Palestinian resistances and the “israeli” enemy, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine recovered the bodies of its martyrs, including the martyred commander Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, whose remains were transferred to his city, Sidi Bouzid (Tunisia), where he was laid to rest in a massive funeral, with the flags of Tunisia and Palestine raised.
