Над разработкой женской униформы Минобороны работало в течение последнего года совместно с волонтерами, которые с самого начала полномасштабной войны помогают женщинам на фронте.
Свою службу в ВСУ Вера и Анастасия начинали в мужской форме, которую женщинам приходилось самостоятельно перешивать или приспосабливать по фигуре при помощи булавок и ремней. "Не видела ни одной женщины, которая бы из выданной формы мужского кроя надела бы китель или еще что-то. Мы все в них тяжело дышим. Или у тебя оттопыриваются крылья на спине. Или просто не застегивается впереди, и тебе нечем дышать", – говорит Анастасия. Еще один наболевший вопрос – нижнее белье. В армии женщинам тоже выдают пока что только мужское. По словам Веры, положенные ей мужские трусы она раздает сослуживцам.
"Вопрос физиологический месячных. Как я должна к боксеркам мужским что-то клеить? Как я должна выходить из этой ситуации? Это тоже абсолютно природные вещи, на которые в основном не обращают внимание. Но мы к этому идем. И это прекрасно", – рассказывает Анастасия.
За год волонтеры из Armwomenow за донаты сшили около пяти тысяч комплектов военной формы и нижнего белья для женщин. Образцы униформы несколько раз менялись с учетом пожеланий женщин после теста в полевых условиях. Основательница волонтерской организации Ирина Никорак во время разработки женской полевой формы постоянно консультировалась с Министерством обороны Украины. В итоге именно этот образец стал основой для внедрения униформы уже на уровне государства.
"Была создана рабочая группа. Мы вместе прорабатывали и создавали с нуля женскую военную форму. Мы не хотели заниматься никакой самодеятельностью. Поэтому учитывали все их рекомендации, пожелания и замечания. Замечания, конечно же, были. Карманы мы переделывали несколько раз", – объясняет основательница Armwomenow Ирина Никорак. И вот недавно министерство обороны презентовало официально утвержденный вариант женской летней полевой формы. В ведомстве говорят, учли все пожелания военнослужащих.
"Тестировали форму на тренировках: в полях, лесах. Она очень удобная для машин боевых. Она тянется, не сковывает движения", – делится впечатлениями военнослужащая ВСУ София. Тысячи жителей прифронтовых сел Донбасса, которые отказались эвакуироваться, с начала полномасштабной войны оказались отрезанными от медицинской помощи. Медики "скорой" часто не доезжают до мест назначения из-за обстрелов, а многие стационарные амбулатории давно вывезли персонал и оборудование в безопасные районы. Жителям сел, которые находятся вблизи линии фронта, пытаются помогать медики- волонтеры – как украинские, так и иностранные. И, по их словам, помощь людям из этих мест нужна не только медицинская, но и психологическая: у многих из-за постоянного стресса наблюдаются ПТСР и различные психологические расстройства.
Корреспондент Настоящего Времени Борис Сачалко провел целый день с волонтерами одной из таких медицинских бригад. Они каждый день ездят по селам и помогают людям, которые не хотят уезжать. Передвижную клинику обычно разворачивают прямо на главной площади села, возле магазина. Вокруг сразу же выстраивается очередь.
Пожилая женщина, которая представляется Лидией Николаевной, рассказывает, что она всю жизнь проработала дояркой:
"Нигде работ других у меня не было, 42 года беспрерывного стажа. работала на дойке, – с гордостью говорит она. – А кроме этого, это была как нагрузка: член правления, бригадный совет, председатель бригадного совета. Депутатом местным тут была! Это нагрузка была, и я ее выполняла. Но обычная моя, самая любимая работа – это доярка".
Медика в селе, где живет Лидия Николаевна, нет уже давно.
"Был у нас кабинет, хорошая была медсестра. Но она в Киев с семьей поехала, и теперь у нас кабинета нету, – жалуется пенсионерка. – У меня с ногами очень плохо. И давление. Ноги у меня очень болят. С этим живу да и живу".
Машину, в которой развернут медпункт, волонтерам передала немецкая общественная организация.
"Мы с начала вторжения работаем с немецкой организацией Cadus. Разные проекты с ними делали, и они еще в прошлом году начали ее строить. И в рамках их помощи тут, в Украине, передали нам эту машину", – рассказывает волонтер Антон Яремчук.
"MedGlobal спонсирует финансово этот проект. Есть некоторые медицинские организации поменьше, они поставляют нам медикаменты периодически", – добавляет его коллега Светлана Юрченко.
Волонтеры рассказывают, что большинство их пациентов имеют хронические заболевания из-за возраста и тяжелой жизни. Но война еще больше ударила по их здоровью.
"С давлением проблемы. Да еще когда обстреляли, и бомбу взрывали в дворе, и что хотите, так у меня после этого капец", – рассказывает один из пациентов.
"Чаще всего к нам приходят с хронической патологией: давление, боль в сердце. И с расстройствами психологическими: бессонница, тревога. Таких – каждый третий", – говорит врач Елена Мережко. Она – из Краматорска, из местной больницы.
Вместе с Еленой и двумя украинскими волонтерами в бригаде работает Ник – американский волонтер из Майами.
"Это немного личное для меня: мои прадеды с Кубы, мы потеряли дом из-за "советов". Я не хочу, чтобы такое же происходило с украинцами", – объясняет он, почему приехал в Украину.
Волонтер Светлана Юрченко подчеркивает, что многим жителям прифронтовых деревень важно просто поговорить: "Психологический момент очень важный. Они начинают говорит о своей жизни, вспоминать, кого они потеряли, и это какая-то психологическая разгрузка для них", – объясняет она.
"На самом деле, половина от того, что здесь происходит, – это своеобразные психологические сессии, – соглашается с ней Антон Яремчук. – Потому что люди выговариваются. Они видят, что о них не забыли, и это очень важно!"

Which should we use in 2023: HEIC Photo Format vs JPEG and PNG and WEBP formats
We all have long known the JPEG file format because it is quite old already, and just works everywhere. Back in the day it offered a reasonable compression, being a lossy compression, but it is probably no longer the best format to use. Whilst PNG is a lossless format, so offers better quality than JPEG, its file sizes are even larger than JPEG, so it is generally not found in camera apps as an option to save photos.
Although HEIC is best known for being adopted by Apple across its products from 2017, it was actually finalised in mid-2015 by MPEG (the Moving Pictures Expert Group). The actual encoding format used, is called HEVC, and it is for both image and video encoding. Today, Samsung, Google, Canon, Sony, Qualcomm, and some others also support it.
Not only does HEIC offer better compression than JPEG without sacrificing image quality (meaning also much smaller file sizes), but an HEIC file also carries an alpha channel to store pictures with transparency, a depth map to store LiDAR scans, depth estimations, and more. Overall, it offers more versatility than a JPG file.
I’ve long just stuck with JPEG out of fear of losing compatibility, but I tested HEIC today a bit, and it is reading just fine on my Linux computer, and it saves fine on my Samsung phone too. I’ve uploaded the HEIC photo to Google Photos, and it reads it fine too. On my phone, a JPEG photo takes up 3.9 MB and the identical resolution photo in HEIC is 2.6 MB (about a 40% saving). In general, though, the average saving can be about 50%. That translates not only into less storage space, but also quicker uploads and file transfers too. RAW is another alternative for really high quality, but as it is completely uncompressed, the file sizes are generally around five times larger than HEIC.
While Apple (and Samsung) only uses the .heic format on iPhones and tablets, several other associated extensions exist. For example, Canon and Sony prefer .hif. The rest of the file extensions are .heif, .heifs, .heics, .avifs, .avif, .avci, and .avcs. I seem to recall, too, that Apple saves additional quality features into its HEIC format photos versus into using the JPEG compatible format.
And related to this as well, is the images used on webpages, because again it has been JPEG as the default for many years.
Whilst HEIC is often now used for camera image and video storage, webpages have started to make use of the WEBP format (not intended for cameras). Both JPEG and WEBP are lossy compression formats (because web images are generally not ultra-high resolution, as load times are preferred over quality) and WEBP is said to be about 25-35% smaller size than JPEG. I downloaded 3 sample photos in JPEG and WEBP, and on average the WEBP is about 30% smaller. Mostly all modern browsers support WEBP today.
So JPEG does probably offer 100% compatibility everywhere, but if you can use HEIC for camera photos and videos (check whether your computer requires an extension to be installed) it is probably well worth doing so. The same really goes for WEBP for websites where the images are for viewing in a browser (images intended to be downloaded for printing should probably still be in JPEG format).
It is probably time for us to default to using HEIC where we can.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—An indictment of Hunter Biden would immediately catapult him to the top tier of the Republican Presidential field, a new poll of likely G.O.P. voters indicates.
The poll reveals that, if indicted by the just-appointed special counsel, the President’s son would be in a virtual dead heat with the Republican front-runner, Donald J. Trump.
Davis Logsdon, who supervised the poll for the University of Minnesota, noted that Governor Ron DeSantis lags far behind, in third place, because of G.O.P. voters’ queasiness about supporting a candidate who has no indictments.

SAN FRANCISCO (The Borowitz Report)—Millions are expected to watch two legendary prevaricators face off for the world lying championship this Wednesday night.
