#Chrome extensions can steal plaintext passwords from websites

The researchers explain that the #problem concerns the systemic practice of giving #browser extensions unrestricted #access to the #DOM tree of sites they load on, which allows accessing potentially sensitive elements such as user input fields.

Why can’t you provide an easy answer to my specific situation of doom! Well first off, I don’t even know you J Rando Fake Name, or your actual situation. And unlike the doom profiteers, I’m not selling a self help seminar. I’m just some optimistic dork out there telling people that they have the power to make their lives better than they are now.

My Dad was a huge man. Physically imposing. He had a temper but even though his hands were like vices, he wore velvet gloves with us.

One day, must have been a bad day, I saw him load a cow in the stall and she must have pissed him off. (Likely took a crap and it splashed on him). So he punched her in the side. He was so strong that it literally moved her.

Math is hard — even for teachers. What if they conquered their math anxiety?

Here's the thing about math. There's an infinite amount of it. No matter how skilled you may be in one area, you will be the "null set" in another. 😉 For example, the most prolific mathematician ever, Paul Erdos, had trouble with simple probability models.

Also people fool themselves into believing they are good or bad, despite facts to the contrary, in part, due to peer pressure.

Our daughter, Katie, announced to me when she was twelve that she was bad at math. I had learned, early on, not to argue with her, but I just couldn't let this go: "I'll agree that you're bad at math if you can explain two things to me. You were programming at age 4, and you've never gotten less than the highest grade on any math test you've ever taken."

I then walked away, her mouth agape.

Katie graduated college with a double major -- EE & math -- and would have preferred to work in math but couldn't figure out how to find a job in math.

On the other side of the coin: I was taking a course in grad school on linear algebra and multivariate analysis. The mid-term exam consisted of 5 "essay" question. I never got past the first question, which, as it turns out required a reinvention of the resampling technique (which had not been covered in the lectures or textbook, to this point). After the exam, I was comparing notes with a fellow student, who, to this point, was at the top of the class. Said he "that's the easiest test I've ever taken. Said, I, "I'd say it was the hardest test I've ever taken, but I'm not sure I understood enough to evaluate that".

As the prof, a psychometrician, admitted to me, later, the test was too difficult and could not discriminate along a dimension of mastery. BTW, the other fellow dropped out of the program, completely.

I am so very ready for when I'm allowed to make used of my bicep that got moved for the labrum repair. I'm technically working on getting out of the sling in PT at this point, but the arm is still about the same level of useless to me because I can't do anything that activates that left bicep yet. Once I'm allowed to actually use that muscle again, will be back to a routine of paying music the same day to start shaking off the rust.

In the name of so-called "inclusion", the enraged of social deconstruction celebrate men who take over spheres reserved for women under the pretext of their gender identity. From women's sports competitions to lipstick ads, men who caricature women are proudly appropriating places that don't belong to them. Even the word "woman" has become taboo. Let's talk about a biped with a uterus!

Conservative book ban push fuels library exodus from national association that stands up for books

#USGunInsanity: Books don't kill kids, guns do!

After parents in a rural and staunchly conservative Wyoming county joined nationwide pressure on librarians to pull books they considered harmful to youngsters, the local library board obliged with new policies making such books a higher priority for removal — and keeping out of collections.
...
... also withdrew from the American Library Association, in what’s become a movement against the professional organization that has fought against book bans.
...
This summer, the state libraries in Montana, Missouri and Texas and the local library in Midland, Texas, announced they’re leaving the ALA, with possibly more to come. Right-wing lawmakers in at least nine other states — Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wyoming — demand similar action.

@mia I use bloat. On bloat quote poasts are a link to an enemy server that cannot be translated into a bloat readable format, at least by me, so I'd have to enable javascript to read it... if the server even allows reading of poasts when not logged in.

WHO KNOWS!

Quote poast as implemented in bloat is completely unusable.

What about stars? They got no brains. Universe is moving, changing. Once it stops it is happy. Philip Mainlander said Theo (god) killed himself and universe is HIM dying. Penrose claims (hypothesis) it will be born itself again. Lawrence Kraussanswers :A Universe from Nothing similarly to Hawking. It seems there is no other option like misery. haha Only some humans can see it thanks to the brains.

Has the world gone mad, or have fascist fools like Trump enabled the "expression of madness"?

Judging from MAGAites, and other rank (and, boy they are rank) and file GOPers, I'd say both.
