The bullying fringe of the gender-critical movement

#politics #transphoby #homophoby

an anonymous account on X called “@FraserDAnderson” – had created an online “Troon Index” (“troon” is a derogatory term for those who identify as transgender). The site included profiles of almost 500 trans-identifying individuals, and had conflated law-abiding citizens with registered sex offenders, drawing no distinction whatsoever between either group. Names and photographs were published, and those listed were referred to as “creatures”, “perverts”, “filth”, “sex deceptionists” and other similarly degrading terms.

@PragmaticAndy

Cis is a pyscho-cognitive based slur and I thought that the first moment I heard at a party in D.C. in 2010 with my own mind.

I can assure you many smart straight males in Western Arizona, Baltimore, DC, NC, and the World think the same.

Digressed, yes, WE "groups" should have more peace and seek unity more and now is an excellent time to do it.

Just did a quick word count on the Kitten reference and tutorials on the technical manual branch I’m working on and it’s about 22,181, which, were it fiction, would apparently put it in the novella category.

Given there are chunky pieces of code I still have to cover for the upcoming technical manual, it might even hit the novel category at some point.

Drafting Daughters, Trans-ing Kids, and Potheads Out of Defense Bill
December 12, 2024
The long-awaited National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) came out of the joint House and Senate conference committee this week. For the first time in years, no doubt in response to President Trump’s overwhelming election win, the bill contains many conservative policy wins and cuts $35 billion in wasteful spending.

one of the interesting twists of the COVID vax nonsense was that the system turned those who were victimized into abusers of those who were not yet victimized.

It’s quite the mind game. Those of us crazy conspiracy nuts who watched society turn on us recall only that, and often forget that these people were also victims of the machine, perhaps worse victims, since at least we don’t have myocarditis and turbo cancer.

In this episode of Bongino Report: Early Edition, Evita covers Antony Blinken admitting that America is funding the Taliban, the Pentagon's claims that the NJ drones aren’t foreign or domestic, and Netflix's plan to woke-ify Narnia.

Hello from Mike Lindell!

Soros-funded attorney Marc Elias is threatening to “fight Trump and Republicans even harder in court in 2026 and 2028.” Our legal team is uniquely prepared to fight the leftist onslaught that’s coming—we’ve learned a lot over the last 4 years about how to fight and win. We are already at work, but need your ONGOING SUPPORT to fund our legal team.

This dangerous attorney—who’s represented Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris and almost robbed Pennsylvania’s Dave McCormick of his Senate win—will use the Judiciary as a weapon against Trump and the America-First movement. Elias expects favorable rulings because “more than half of federal judges were appointed by Democratic presidents,” and “many state courts are controlled by liberals.”
WE NEED TO STOP THESE ATTEMPTS TO WEAPONIZE THE COURTS!

Elias vows to fight Trump and Republicans by every means possible! We can’t let him get his way.

How von der Leyen sold out the farmers - UnHerd

This is a story which exemplifies the vicious, anti-democratic cycle that underpins the EU’s political dynamics. It is about decision-making processes which alienate voters and lead to weakened and discredited governments. It is about Ursula von der Leyen finally managing to ram through one of her favourite projects, while alienating one of her staunchest supporters.

"Mystery drones have been spotted over key U.S. military facilities, as well as other sensitive locations including President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf course. Reports say the drones are big, loud, and brightly lit, but often go dark as soon as they’re seen. Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) also relayed reports that swarms of the drones have been coming off the ocean, and he detailed communications with U.S. defense officials who said they don’t have the authority to attack or bring down the drones."

Comer sets two new targets: evidence of Democrat money-laundering and Biden-protecting bureaucrats
Comer revealed to Just the News that the Biden Treasury Department has told Congress it has more than 400 suspicious activity reports — money laundering alerts — involving the ActBlue fundraising platform connected to the Democratic Party.

So, like many things, it depends.

A high speed, modern hand dryer wins out in a life cycle analysis against recycled paper towels. An extra long session is worse than one paper towel, two paper towels is almost as bad as an old hand dryer like the one you've got in the pic.

Margin between a modern air dryer and paper towels is, therefore, small with a small edge to the modern air dryer, but the old air dryer loses on the resources used side.

like @fuat2mb mentioned, that's just one factor. Removing the work load for facilities of having to keep them all full was the reason they were invented in the first place, not to reduce resource usage.

Well, they wanted to reduce the labor used. They weren't factoring in the material use. Because of this you'll still see a lot of new construction put them in, especially to help greenwash the company. It's sorta about resources but mostly about cutting labor.

Hundreds of mysterious drones have been sighted near military bases and critical infrastructure along America’s eastern seaboard, baffling federal and state authorities. “These are apparently very, as I understand it, very sophisticated. The minute you get eyes on them, they go dark,” said New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D), the state with the most drone sightings. D

So when the high-end canned product makers say there's no #BPA in our can, which is the biggest source of BPA, they really have switched to using its analog cousins #BPS and #BPF which are just as bad for you. Also BPA makes plastic stiffer & is an #estrogen analog whereas #phthalates are an #androgen analog and makes plastic softer. You want neither in your diet.

If you thought Santa was busy this time of year, you should see Congress. With just a handful of days left to finish this year’s business, members have their hands full with all of the legislative cans they kicked down the road. The House, at least, got at least one headache off its plate by passing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Wednesday afternoon — moving the bill one step closer to becoming law for its record-breaking 64th straight year.

The British government indefinitely banned puberty blockers as a treatment for minors with gender dysphoria on Wednesday. After embracing gender transition procedures for minors before the U.S., European countries like the U.K. are now reversing course as evidence of the harm they could cause has mounted. “We need to act with caution and care when it comes to this vulnerable group of young people, and follow the expert advice,” declared Health Secretary Wes Streeting.

Spinsters, my email groups and Facebook feeds are littered with women freaking out about Trump. Full freak out. Everything catastrophic he's going to do. And how he caused the South Korea military coup before he even took office!

I mean, I'm not thrilled about a Trump presidency. I'm worried about his competency and that of those around him, and I don't think he can deliver his promises. But I'm hoping for the best and waiting to freak out until there's something to freak out about. Maybe even then I won't freak out. After 15 years of transgender rule, maybe I've run out of freaks-outs.

For a moment I asked myself, Am I missing something? But I don't think so. It feels like social contagion. And I don't think it works to argue or rationalize with people who are in this freak-out. It reminds me of Y2K. Remember that? Some people are too young. That was a crazy time to be living in a liberal city. Some guy actually handed me a flyer about planning what to do with poop when Y2K happens. You can't respond rationally to people in freak-out mode. It just gets them more upset.

The hard fact of the matter is that we don't know what the future holds. I'm glad I live in a rural area, even though life is harder here in many ways. I live at a slower pace and I don't get thrown off balance easily.

Palestinians have the Israelis.

A lot of hoopla about Google's new quantum computer chip. To put it into perspective, in 2019, largest quantum ICs had ~50 physical qubits. Google's new chip has 105. Experts estimate practical applications of quantum computing when scale reaches a million+, maybe in 60-70 years' time? (If ever)

(That is to say that the applications we're reading about in the Google press releases would require 1M+ physical qubits)

From the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker:

Protests remain the most dangerous place for journalists in the U.S.

In 2024, nearly half of all arrests were at hands of NYPD, spiking from April through May during protests at Columbia University.

The W3C @tag has published a Statement of Ethical Web Principles to guide the community to build a better web.

@torgo and @wz43rtx noted:

The web is a fundamental part of our lives, shaping how we work, connect, and learn. We understand that with this profound impact comes the responsibility to ensure that the web serves as a platform that benefits people and delivers positive social outcomes. 1/4

w3.org/blog/2024/w3c-statement…

in reply to World Wide Web Consortium

The Ethical Web Principles are as much a guide in ethical thinking across the web industry as they are a guide for the work of the W3C community by providing a concise set of principles to assist spec developers, authors, and reviewers in their work.

Furthermore, the document outlines how we, as an organization, define the power and purpose of the web, from an ethical standpoint.

These principles are not merely theoretical; they constitute a call to action. 2/4

in reply to World Wide Web Consortium

These Principles include:
* There is one web
* The web does not cause harm to society
* The web supports healthy community and debate
* The web is for all people
* The web is secure and respects people's privacy
* The web enables freedom of expression
* The web makes it possible to verify information
* The web enhances individuals' control and power
* The web is an environmentally sustainable platform
* The web is transparent
* The web is multi-browser, multi-OS, and multi-device 3/4

How many of your members violate these policies and what action will you take against them?

Google?

Adobe?
Microsoft?
US Department of Homeland Security?
