@Taweret btw this is like the most sublimely #monsterdon movie i have ever seen and if we haven't watched it together it is like an absolute maximum priority kind of movie.

I'm uploading a decent rip to IA now and can also put it on youtube if that works for most people? I think we would also want to offer a "no violence against children" version which blanks out maybe 1 minute of the movie that isn't graphic per se but is unnecessarily distressing and totally irrelevant to what's going on

#Israel just killed journalist Mohammed #Baalousha in a bombing that targeted his home on Ahmed Yassin Street in Northern #Gaza.

This isn't the first time Mohammed was targeted. In January, he was shot by an Israeli sniper while reporting and denied medical treatment for six agonizing hours as tanks blocked his evacuation.
Since October 7, Israel has killed 193 #journalists in Gaza. It has also killed many of their family members.
These aren't random tragedies-they are part of a systemic effort to blind the world to what's happening in Gaza.

Targeting journalists isn't just about controlling the narrative; it's about erasing it. Killing journalists in Gaza isn't just an attack on Palestinian voices-it's an attack on every journalist, everywhere.
When a journalist is murdered for doing their job, it sends a chilling message: No story is safe. No truth is sacred. It endangers every journalist who dares to ask uncomfortable questions or expose inconvenient truths, whether in Gaza, Sydney, or New York.

The complicity of Western governments and media in turning a blind eye to these killings is a disgrace. By failing to demand accountability, they enable the silencing of dissent and the erosion of the public's right to know.

So my daughter is going stir crazy, while recuperating from her injury and surgery. So I suggest we make a chocolate house for Christmas. So we bought chocolate molds and some really good melting chocolate from a chocolate shop. I had her plan it out and told her I would help her assemble it. She loved the idea. I had no idea it would take 5 hours to do. It was good therapy for her but a bit of torture for me. Im so glad its done. My back will never be the same.

Have heard of Metcalfe's law and Reed's law for the first time thanks to a @netzpolitik_feed article. Which reaffirms my believe + efforts to get #multicast routing between #Freifunk communities working.
The Metalcafe's law says a network grows by value/importance proportional to the square and had a classic telephone network in mind.
For multicast I think Reed's law seems more fitting, which considers all potential subgroups, with an exponential value/importance.

@wjmaggos Problem is that Biden also had very serious issues and Harris indicated she agreed with his policies. The goal was to get a less shitty Dem--first by having Biden replaced and then, when Harris became the candidate, to attempt to push her to change some of her policies.

It was clear that if Harris did not change her policies, there was no path to victory in the electoral college so no point in compromising principles and voting for her.

Normally, shit like this gets people.summoned to Academic Affairs and if they're lucky they'll be allowed to stay after doing an ethics course, or take tze risk and if caught get expelled and basically banned from any reputable collegue / university...

Like we had cheating in academic settings for decades, softballing means it'll harm the reputation like any lack of quality control, #accountability & #consequences!

I hear you. I agree with freeing political prisoners, i.e. dissidents. I'd be very cautious releasing ex ISIS (or other takfiri factions) into society. I'd be very cautious releasing criminals without vetting what they got sentenced for.
As for torture camps, how about the Israeli prisons? Palestinian prisoners tortured for decades, tortured to death in cases. Where's the outrage?
How about Guantanamo or many more states prisons where torture is routine.

I would add that HTS and affiliated groups have already started extrajudicial executions, roadside and some I've seen in a hospital. Gruesome to watch. Horrific practice, which is true to form for an offshoot of Al-Qaeda with a pinch of ISIS in it.
They've been persecuting Christians and Alawites already and dictating what women should / shouldn't do. It's only gonna get worse.
There is no good coming out of this regime change
I'm no supporter of Assad.
