Cette phrase est doublement choquante, déjà parce qu'elle justifie l'action de Trump (contrôle du vocabulaire, interdiction de livres... ) qui veut invisibiliser certains sujets (féminisme, genre, climat...) au cœur du débat public, et donc dans l'opinion, dans une démarche très orwellienne. Mais cette phrase est encore plus choquante quand on connaît son auteur : Joseph Goebbels, le ministre de la propagande du IIIème Reich. Pour Keith Self, conservateur républicain, Goebbels est un personnage comme un autre, que l'on peut citer au même titre que tout autre personnage politique ou tout autre penseur du vingtième siècle.
