Prenons le cas du dollar : dans un contexte incertain, les investisseurs préfèrent acheter des dollars pour ne pas être exposés à des monnaies plus faibles, plus volatiles, ou plus risquées. Donc le cours du dollar monte par rapport aux autres devises.
En parallèle, quand les marchés sentent qu’une récession approche, ils anticipent que la Fed (la banque centrale américaine) va baisser ses taux d’intérêt pour relancer l’économie. Car quand les taux baissent, emprunter coûte moins cher, et cela peut stimuler l’activité.

Or, quand un acteur vend massivement des obligations, leur prix baisse, et les taux d’emprunt à 10 ou 30 ans montent mécaniquement.
Enfin, il faut ajouter que beaucoup d’investisseurs avaient spéculé sur la dette américaine via une stratégie appelée basis trade, avec des effets de levier allant jusqu’à 200. Aujourd’hui, ils subissent des appels de marge, c’est-à-dire qu’ils sont obligés de remettre de l’argent sur la table ou de liquider leurs positions à perte.
Et surtout, un problème structurel émerge : si les taux ne baissent pas rapidement, les États-Unis sont exposés. I'm skeptical of what exactly this means. Every social media service gets shit for saying you relinquish rights to them for anything you upload but that's kind of the only legalese way that they can allow user generated content. IANAL, so it's hard for me to judge why they would need that text and why they would not.
fucking yikes! Does anyone know if they have the same access to forks (the one I have in mind is Tor) or if this only applies if we're using the official Firefox app? I have a feeling it's the latter but better safe than sorry

This exists in every service that involves processing information given to it, such as Bluesky and art websites. Without outlining it, and courts can darn sure be picky about your legalese, they legally wouldn't be able to use the information you give Firefox for basic function, which is exactly why this section exists and does not over-extend.

the clarification is in a blog post, that may not be legally binding. so in my eyes any clarification outside of the ToS is worthless.
If #Mozilla wants to offer AI services or collect and use their users data, this should be a separate opt-in ToS in my opinion, not the terms of the base application.

unfortunately i'm going to admit defeat with these acura wheels. they're too bent for me to fix. i was making a little bit of progress but it's taking way too long and i doubt i'll ever get them perfect. i'll have to buy some new ones
they're probably fixable in theory but i would need some more specialized press parts, probably a two-way ram for pulling, not just pushing, and a motorized hydraulic pump, not this little hand pump. anyway screw it, for these 20 year old wheels that are really beat up, it's not worth it i'll sell them on craigslist or something for parts/repair and get new ones.
at least i was able to fix my other set of alloy wheels for the civic. that saved some money and they feel pretty smooth now
