In einer Erklärung zu den diesjährigen Ostermärschen spricht sich der DGB für „verstärkte Anstrengungen, verteidigungsfähiger zu werden“ aus. Dagegen rufen die Netzwerke der Friedensbewegung zu den gleichen Demonstrationen mit dem Motto „Friedensfähig statt kriegstüchtig“ auf. Teilnehmer wissen daher nicht, ob sie für oder gegen Aufrüstung demonstrieren.
Die Friedenskooperative führt eine Erklärung des Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbunds (DGB) zu den diesjährigen Ostermärschen in einer Zusammenstellung der „Aufrufe der Veranstalter*innen Ostermarsch 2025“ auf. Allerdings handelt es sich bei der Wortmeldung des DGB anders als früher nicht um einen Aufruf, sondern nur um eine "Erklärung zu den Ostermärschen" und eine "Botschaft für die Ostermärsche".
Im fett gedruckten Abspann des DGB-Aufrufs, neben einer Friedenstaube, heißt es zwar als "Botschaft": „Für ein Deutschland und ein Europa, die gegen Militarisierung und zerstörerisches Wettrüsten geschlossen ihre Stimme erheben.“ Diese Forderung hat der DGB jedoch vorher im Text ihres normalen Sinns beraubt. Man ist nicht gegen Aufrüstung, sondern dafür, denn Erhöhung der Verteidigungsfähigkeit sei nötig. Man ist nur gegen „zerstörerisches Wettrüsten“. Im Gegensatz zur vom DGB gewünschten Aufrüstung ist Militarisierung für ihn definiert als eine Orientierung der Aufrüstung an NATO-Zielvorgaben statt an „tatsächlich bestehenden Ausrüstungs- und Kapazitätsbedarfen“. Mit anderen Worten: Wenn jemand unter gebührender Dramatisierung der Bedrohung durch Russland hohe Ausrüstungs- und Kapazitätsbedarfe für die Bundeswehr ermittelt, sind die Gewerkschaften dafür und klatschen für die Aufrüstung.
Die Organisatoren der Ostermärsche, die Kooperation für den Frieden und der Bundesausschuss Friedensratschlag fordern dagegen in ihrem Aufruf:
„Abrüstungsverhandlungen ja – Europäische Aufrüstung nein
Keine neuen US-Raketen in Deutschland
Diplomatie statt Kriegsverlängerung in der Ukraine
Keine Waffenlieferungen an Israel
Keine neuen US-Raketen in Deutschland“
Im ersten Punkt will der DGB fast das Gegenteil. Punkte zwei und drei erwähnt er nur in einem einzigen aufzählenden Floskelsatz ganz am Ende, die Punkte vier und fünf gar nicht. Erst im folgenden Punkt, keine Sozialkürzungen für das Militär gibt es wieder eine Schnittmenge mit den Organisatoren aus der Friedensbewegung.
Im "Aufruf" für 2024 hatte der DGB noch gefordert:
"Angesichts der Zunahme bewaffneter Konflikte ist es höchste Zeit, den Irrglauben zu überwinden, Frieden ließe sich durch Aufrüstung und immer mehr Waffen schaffen. Wir erwarten von der Bundesregierung, dass sie das Friedensgebot des Grundgesetzes konsequent umsetzt. Wir fordern sie auf, sich mit aller Entschlossenheit für diplomatische Ansätze zur Konfliktlösung einzusetzen und neue Initiativen für die Wiederbelebung von Abrüstung, Rüstungs- und Rüstungsexportkontrolle auf den Weg zu bringen. Wir fordern eine Politik, die für Gewaltfreiheit, ein breites Sicherheitsverständnis und multilaterale Kooperation eintritt, statt sich auf militärische Bedrohungen und Freund-Feind-Rhetorik zu fixieren. Wir brauchen eine Politik, die das Denken in Feindbildern überwindet."
Das gilt alles nicht mehr. Die Gewerkschaften haben mit ihrer Treue zum SPD-Kriegsminister und der kriegslüsternen Regierung die Organisatoren der Ostermärsche und die potenziellen Teilnehmer in ein Dilemma gestürzt.

EU OS is a Proof-of-Concept for the deployment of a Fedora-based Linux operating system with a KDE Plasma desktop environment in a typical public sector organisation. Other organisations with similar requirements or less strict requirements may also learn from this Proof-of-Concept.
It is led by a community of volunteers and enthusiasts. The project goal is to become a project of the European Commission.
Despite the name, EU OS is technically not a new operating system. Distrowatch lists currently over 250 Linux operating systems (‘distributions’) and their various flavours, spins or subvariants are not even counted in. The added value of EU OS is a different one:
The aims of this project are very similar to that of SAOSS (South African Open Source Software) but the advantage of the EU is that there are a number of firmly established OSS implementations already in place in a few countries within their public sector.
In South Africa, most of the initiatives within the public sector have died out, apart from maybe one municipal district in the Eastern Cape. I was part of one initiative in the South African public sector, and it passed with flying colours, but a change of political leadership very quickly killed off the project just one month before it was due for its permanent switch over.
So, I have three vital pieces of advice for any open source project within the public sector, and they have nothing at all to do with the technology:

Considering that #StarWars was released in 1977, it's Copyright term was under pre-1978 rules which were 28 years initially, then a 67 year extension if the Copyright holder filed for an extension in 2005. That would grant them a Copyright term of 95 years as of today.
Let's compare that to what the Copyright term will be for this re-release of StarWars.

@vriska and there's the real problem, you can do a throat culture easily, but determining whether that bacteria (or virus) is causing the infection is tough.
insurance looks at it from a bureaucratic numbers perspective. doctors look at it through their individual experience. who do you trust here? the insurance company or the doctor? i'll take my chances with the doctor especially since i like mine and he's smart enough to know the risks of taking antibiotics unnecessarily.
furthermore in the past i've been able to judge by how it feels, tastes, and visually by looking at the throat, whether there are signs of a bacterial infection.
this incentive discourages doctors using their judgement, even if a good diagnostic test isn't available
We, the Tseltal, Tsotsil Indigenous peoples, and the mestizo community, express our opposition to the Palenque–San Cristóbal de las Casas Highway project in Chiapas, and to the construction of the first stretch from Palenque to Ocosingo, as it violates our right to self-determination, to our territory, to live in harmony with nature, and to a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment. We want to make it clear that from its inception, this highway has been a discriminatory, racist, and exclusionary project aimed against those of us who work the land and inhabit the territory.
The Palenque–San Cristóbal de las Casas highway project is not new—it has been proposed since the administration of Chiapas Governor Juan Sabines Guerrero (2006–2012), in collaboration with the Federal Government. Although it has been justified under the guise of “development,” the highway has not been built thanks to the resistance of organized communities that emerged due to the lack of official information and transparency about the project.
In this current administration, the present governor, Eduardo Ramírez, has revived this construction project, and in alliance with the federal government, it has now become one of the most significant projects in the country.
Eduardo Ramírez stated to the media that he would not carry out the construction of the highway without first consulting the people and Indigenous communities. Therefore, on February 17, 2025, the “Guidelines for Conducting Public Consultations Related to Strategic Development Projects in the State of Chiapas” were published in the Official State Gazette, inventing a participation mechanism called a “Public Consultation.”
The so-called “Public Consultation,” according to the government’s published Guidelines, is a mechanism through which people can decide whether or not they agree with the implementation of projects that the government classifies as “strategic development.” These Consultations are overseen by the governor himself and the General Secretariat of Government and Mediation, without including specialized authorities such as the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples (INPI).
Thus, on March 23 of this year, a Public Consultation was held regarding the first stretch of construction—from Palenque to Ocosingo—in the municipalities of Chilón, Salto de Agua, Palenque, and Ocosingo. In this consultation, the authorities did not respect our right to access environmental, social, cultural, or project execution information. The communities were not informed in advance; the invitation was only shared via social media, failing to reach the many communities where there is no cell phone or telephone service. Furthermore, polling stations were only placed in municipal centers—between two and six per location. We witnessed serious irregularities, including people who were not from the municipality being allowed to vote, thus making decisions about land that is not theirs. The true owners of the land, and those most directly affected, were not taken into account.
Once again, the bad government directly discriminates against the Indigenous peoples who inhabit this region. Racism and contempt for Indigenous communities persist, even after the constitutional reform to Article 2, which recognizes our right to consultation and self-determination.
In response to the repeated violations of our human rights, today, March 31, 2025, we have filed two legal injunctions (amparos): one against the guidelines for conducting public consultations, because they are unconstitutional; and another for violating our right to a free, prior, informed, culturally appropriate, and good-faith consultation, which is part of our right to self-determination. We have also decided to exercise our right to petition by submitting requests for information to the Governor of the State, to the Head of the General Secretariat of Government and Mediation, and to the Secretariat of Infrastructure of the State of Chiapas. We demand that they make public the information on the environmental, cultural, and social impacts related to the construction of the Palenque–San Cristóbal highway and the stretch from Palenque to Ocosingo, so that we may freely and informedly decide the future of our territory, ensuring care and respect for our Mother Earth.
Finally, we inform society in general that, based on our right to decide on our own development, the preservation of our cultural and ancestral heritage, our territory, health, equality, self-determination, and autonomy, we—the original peoples—have signed the Declaration of Peoples Free from Megaprojects, a document that represents our collective decision to resist the government’s imposition of a project that violates our rights and threatens the life of our communities.
The land is not for sale—it is cared for and defended.
