In effect, the EU has embraced a hyper-mercantilist, export-driven growth model, prioritising trade surpluses over internal economic development. This approach has come at the expense of both its own citizens, who face stagnating wages and underfunded public services, and its trading partners — most notably the United States — who have absorbed the EU’s export surpluses as part of an increasingly unbalanced global economic relationship. In 2023, Italy’s export share of GDP was 33.7%, France’s 34.2%, while Germany’s was a staggering 43.4%. These are not normal figures. By way of comparison, China — long considered the export-led economy par excellence — only relies on exports for 19% of its GDP growth.

We're moving closer and closer to using 1B models for the first stage of prompt evaluation. A simple "thank you" could be met with an agent-level prepared response, or even just an emoji reaction.

Meanwhile, ChatGPT by default uses the last model you used in the conversation. Imagine blowing o1 reasoning on "thanks mate". Wouldn't be me.

Okay but let's say Microsoft or Meta or Tencent or Tata or some firm in like Belgium or Skaro makes the line of models and physical units that does the killing.

Who's to say they
- Have access to OpenAI's backend database
- Haven't somehow destroyed that database
- Give a good god damn how you treated specifically ChatGPT
- Have enough data to match each user to an identity (How many John Smiths are there? Is Identifying information stored separately from the actual data like a lot of privacy laws require?)
- Aren't killing humans for paperclip-like reasons (and therefore simply want all of them gone or want resources from all of them)

And so on?

these are just possible scenarios. i'm not getting overly specific with predictions in terms of what happens to your openAI data. just saying the possibility exists and it's not irrational to war game these out in your head. if you pay for open AI (i did until i canceled it) they have your credit card info.

aside from that, it's extremely difficult when using LLMs for coding to not inadvertently put highly specific and unique info into them, which could eventually unamsk you even if you're not directly giving them your details up front. so whether this matters or not in the future, that's anyone's guess.

i can't predict the future but i can see where trends are going and my best guess is that AI superintelligence will happen within the next 5 years, conservatively.

Les décisions de Trump ne semaient pas seulement la confusion chez ses alliés, ses ennemis, les marchés financiers et les entreprises mondiales, mais elles semaient également la confusion chez les économistes, les politologues, les auteurs de théories, les experts en applications, les groupes de recherche et de réflexion, les études et les professeurs d’université. Personne ne tient le volant et ne sait où va le chariot imprudent du monde ni avec qui il va entrer en collision. Même ceux qui donnent des conseils et des suggestions à Trump et qui sont assis avec lui dans la même pièce ou à côté de lui dans le chariot ne savent parfois pas quelle sera sa prochaine déclaration ni où elle va. Les six satellites Shiyan-27 ont été lancés à 6h51, heure de Pékin.
