There is no "Western World Empire" nor US-EU-NATO-Israel Empire.
There is only US imperialism wannabe-empire and the absolute submissive puppets.
NATO is a fascist tool of the US to keep the EU puppets under control.
Zionists until recently played the same role in the Middle East that NATO played in Europe.

@Vivaldi, yes, Andi certainly isn't the fastest, and also logical in a small startup with for sure not the biggest server for it.
But on the other hand, from all the AIs Itested, it's the most reliable, ethic and which best protect the privacy. Very similar philosopy of the one from Vivaldi, respect ethics and users. Not so important that it needs a second more for the research.

Yes, Startpage is majority-owned by System1, an advertising technology company, through its subsidiary Privacy One Group. This acquisition happened in December 2018, though it wasn't publicly announced until October 2019.

System1 describes itself as "one of the largest purchasers of digital advertising in the world" and uses "statistical and machine-learning models to group consumers into thousands of audience profiles"

However, Startpage maintains that its privacy protections remain intact. According to Startpage CEO Robert Beens, the company retains control over privacy-related decisions and continues to operate from the Netherlands under EU privacy laws. Startpage claims it still does not store user data or IP addresses, and only serves contextual ads based on search queries rather than behavioral targeting.

Innovative mission concepts enabled by disruptive computing paradigms

Due to the growing volume of data produced by Earth observation (EO), traditional computing architectures struggle to process information efficiently and promptly. To mitigate this issue, prepare Europe for the future of space computing, and grow from Earth observation into Earth action, ESA is seeking innovative mission concepts that use disruptive computing paradigms, potentially coupled with matching sensing technologies that could either bring new capabilities for Earth-orbiting satellites, or significantly improve current mission constrains.

Enhancing Biochar Yield in Biomass Pyrolysis

Maximizing the biochar yield in biomass pyrolysis is crucial for optimizing both environmental benefits and economic returns. A pyrolysis plant, which thermally decomposes organic materials in the absence of oxygen, can efficiently transform waste biomass into valuable biochar, a carbon-rich product. However, improving biochar yield requires optimizing several critical factors within the pyrolysis process. Here, we explore the key strategies for achieving higher biochar production and the technical aspects that influence the output.

Temperature Control

One of the most significant factors affecting biochar yield is the pyrolysis temperature. In general, a lower pyrolysis temperature favors biochar production, while higher temperatures tend to produce more volatile gases and liquids. Optimal temperatures for biochar production typically range from 400°C to 600°C. Operating outside this range can lead to either insufficient carbonization or excessive gas formation, both of which reduce biochar yield.

For a biochar production equipment to maximize biochar output, careful regulation of the temperature profile is necessary. Maintaining a consistent heating rate and ensuring that the material reaches the optimal temperature without excessive overheating is essential for achieving a high biochar yield.

Heating Rate

The rate at which biomass is heated during pyrolysis plays a pivotal role in determining the amount of biochar produced. A slow heating rate generally promotes higher biochar yield, as it allows the biomass more time to undergo thermal degradation at lower temperatures. Conversely, rapid heating can result in a quicker release of volatiles, reducing the final biochar yield.

By carefully controlling the heating rate, a biomass pyrolysis plant can optimize the carbonization process. Generally, a heating rate of 5-10°C per minute is considered ideal for biochar production. Slower heating rates prevent the biomass from reaching temperatures that favor the production of non-condensable gases, thus preserving more of the carbon content in the biochar.

Feedstock Quality

The type and moisture content of the biomass feedstock directly influence biochar production. Biomass materials with higher moisture content require more energy to evaporate the water before they can start the pyrolysis process. High moisture content not only increases the energy required for pyrolysis but also dilutes the carbon concentration in the final product.

To improve biochar yield, it is essential to pre-dry feedstocks such as wood, agricultural residues, or even municipal waste before processing. This reduces the energy input required for the process and ensures that more of the biomass is converted into biochar rather than lost as volatile gases. Feedstock with lower ash content also tends to yield more biochar, as ash can reduce the overall carbon content.

Particle Size

The particle size of the biomass feedstock influences heat transfer and the efficiency of the pyrolysis process. Smaller particles have a greater surface area, which allows for more efficient thermal degradation and, consequently, higher biochar yield. However, extremely small particles may cause clumping or clogging in the pyrolysis plant, potentially affecting the quality of the biochar.

Finding the optimal particle size for different types of biomass is crucial. Typically, particle sizes ranging from 1 to 5 cm work well, ensuring both efficient thermal conversion and smooth processing in the pyrolysis plant.

Residence Time

The amount of time the biomass spends inside the pyrolysis reactor, known as the residence time, is another critical parameter. Longer residence times allow for more thorough carbonization, which can increase the biochar yield. However, extended residence times at higher temperatures can also lead to the degradation of biochar into lighter fractions like gases or oils.

Balancing residence time with other process parameters, such as temperature and heating rate, ensures that biomass is given enough time to convert into biochar without excessive breakdown into gaseous or liquid byproducts.

Optimized Reactor Design

The design of the pyrolysis reactor has a direct impact on the overall yield of biochar. Advanced reactors that provide uniform heat distribution, efficient gas flow management, and better thermal insulation are more effective in producing high-quality biochar. Modern pyrolysis plants often utilize batch reactors or continuous systems, each with its advantages depending on the scale of operation.

Reactor design also influences heat retention, which is essential for achieving the right temperature profiles. Ensuring that the pyrolysis plant has a well-insulated and airtight system reduces heat loss and allows for more efficient processing of the biomass feedstock.

Catalysts and Additives

In some cases, the use of catalysts or additives can enhance the pyrolysis process and increase biochar yield. Catalysts such as alkali metals or transition metals can promote more complete carbonization and reduce the production of tar and other volatile substances. These additives can be especially useful when processing biomass types that tend to produce excessive amounts of liquid or gaseous byproducts.

However, careful consideration of catalyst type and dosage is essential to avoid contamination of the final biochar, which could negatively impact its quality and subsequent applications.

Monitoring and Automation

Automation and real-time monitoring are indispensable in optimizing biochar yield. A pyrolysis plant equipped with sensors and control systems can continuously adjust parameters like temperature, pressure, and heating rate for maximum biochar production. Automated systems can also facilitate the continuous feed of biomass, ensuring consistent processing and reducing downtime between batches.

Regular monitoring also allows for quick identification and correction of any operational issues that may hinder biochar production. Over time, the data collected through these systems can be analyzed to refine operational strategies and improve biochar yield.

Conclusion

Achieving optimal biochar yield from biomass pyrolysis requires a careful balance of various operational factors, including temperature control, heating rate, feedstock quality, and reactor design. By focusing on these key parameters and leveraging advanced pyrolysis plant technology, producers can significantly increase their biochar output, ensuring both environmental sustainability and economic viability. As demand for high-quality biochar continues to grow, improving the yield will become an essential consideration for any pyrolysis plant operator.

#Ai / Google discontinues fact-checking snippets in their search product

Fact-checking snippets were designed to protect users from misinformation and expose them to reliable sources first. Discontinuing this feature in favor of #AI-generated summaries risks amplifying inaccuracies or hallucinations.

The founder and CEO of Maldita.es and chair of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network, expressed concern over #Google’s decision to end its 10-year collaboration with fact-checkers without prior notice or consultation. Google claims its data indicates the fact-checking snippet is “not commonly used in Search” and no longer offers “significant additional value for users,” yet it has not shared this data. In contrast, the Reuters Institute Digital News Report, which surveyed 92,000 online news consumers across 46 markets, found that 25% globally seek fact-checks in search results, with 38% in the U.S. and 44% in Norway expecting such information. In Europe, the average is 23%, while in the Balkans, 31% of Serbians look for fact-checks. Additionally, 38% of Brazilians, 32% of Kenyans and South Africans, and 37% of Filipinos in the Global South also expect fact-checks when verifying information.

niemanlab.org/2025/06/google-k…

Google is clearly not going to stop aggressively promoting their AI to their customers. This decision simply happens to be compatible with the current political climate in the United States and is extremely convenient when both the United States and Israel are engaged in activities that they deny are genocide. At least when it comes to results related to what’s happening in Gaza, the regurgitated bullshit from regime-friendly pro-Israel media outlets like the #NYT and #WAPO are incredibly helpful. I doubt Google’s large language models are trained on data from Al Jazeera, The Intercept, or Electronic Intifada.

Regardless, the best solution is undoubtedly not to use Google for search. DuckDuckGo and many other alternatives come to mind, as do self-hosted meta search engines like SearNGX (which offers significantly more useful tools than either).

DOJ Charges 324 in Largest #Healthcare #Fraud Takedown in U.S. #History — $14.6 BILLION Scheme Involved 96 #Doctors, #Nurses, and Pharmacists Targeting #Medicare and Medicaid

The Department of Justice on Monday unveiled a record-shattering crackdown on the #corrupt underbelly of #America’s #health care #system. A jaw-dropping 324 defendants — including 96 medical professionals — have been charged in 50 federal districts and 12 states for orchestrating over $14.6 billion in intended fraud, largely targeting Medicare, Medicaid, and federal health programs meant to serve the #elderly, #disabled, and the #poor.

The takedown, spearheaded by the DOJ’s Health Care Fraud Unit in coordination with HHS-OIG, the FBI, the DEA, and over a dozen state attorney general offices, marks the largest health care fraud bust in U.S. history.

“Today, as we announced the largest coordinated health care fraud takedown in the history of the Department of Justice, it marks a decisive moment in our fight to protect American taxpayers from fraudsters and to defend the integrity of America’s health care system,” said Matthew R. Galeotti, DOJ’s Head of the Criminal Division.

“We are announcing today charges against 324 defendants for their alleged participation in health care fraud schemes involving approximately $14.6 billion in false claims submitted to Medicare, Medicaid, and other health care programs.”

“These criminals didn’t just steal someone else’s money — they stole from you. Every fraudulent claim, every fake billing, every kickback scheme represents money taken directly from the pockets of American taxpayers who fund these essential programs through their hard work and sacrifice. And when criminals defraud these programs, they’re not just committing theft — they’re driving up our national deficit and threatening the long-term viability of health care for seniors, disabled Americans, and our most vulnerable citizens.”

When we organised the Indie Tech Summit¹ – an international conference with zero sponsors that we funded entirely through ticket sales – we made sure our priority was that we could break even while at the very least paying speakers travel and accommodation. We treated them like royalty, even picking them up from the airport. It’s really about priorities. No one ever says they’re not going to pay the venue or the catering staff, or, worse, that they’re going to ask the catering staff and the venue to pay them. But for some reason with speakers – especially those who do not work in Big Tech or the mainstream – it’s apparently fine. I don’t enjoy living under capitalism but if we’re going to move to a post-capitalist future, it’s not going to happen by making those of us working on the alternatives that respect and protect human rights and democracy poorer for the privilege of attempting to inform people about their existence.

I don't watch TV or the news so I catch onto things slow.

Which brings me to Bob Vylan. The hypocrisy is off the fucking scale.

Apparently they "glorified violence".

Did they COMMIT violence so that life was viciously scrubbed out like the IDF do EVERY DAY?

Starmer and his fascist lackeys, as well as the BBC, are accomplices to genocide.

Forever chemicals have polluted the water supply of 60,000 people, threatening human health, wildlife and the wider ecosystem. But activists say this is just the tip of the Pfas iceberg

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.

Niels Brock, a Copenhagen-based business college, will lay off 186 teachers over the next five years as it closes its international, tuition-based program. Despite enrolling a record 3,500 international students this year—a new high for the institution. The closure is a direct result of recent changes to Danish immigration rules. (Hard rain gonna fall)

Mastering Corporate Governance for Singapore Companies

Effective corporate governance is about making informed decisions, clearly defining responsibilities, and addressing risks before they become serious problems.

Running a business in Singapore involves more than just meeting filing deadlines. Effective corporate governance is about making informed decisions, clearly defining responsibilities, and addressing risks before they become serious problems.

For companies, especially private limited ones, strong governance reduces legal risks, builds investor trust, and ensures operational efficiency. Here's a practical guide to getting it right.

Understand Your Legal Obligations

Every company registered in Singapore must comply with the Companies Act, which outlines directors' duties: act in the company's best interest, avoid conflicts, and maintain accurate records. Non-compliance can lead to fines or directorship disqualification.

Corporate secretarial services are vital for meeting these requirements. They handle tasks like filing annual returns, drafting resolutions, and ensuring records are accurate and accessible. This isn't just about compliance—it's about protecting your business.

The Crucial Role of a Company Secretary

Singapore law requires every company to appoint a company secretary. This role goes beyond administrative tasks, involving expertise in meeting protocols, ACRA submissions, and compliance with the company's constitution.

Many businesses opt for outsourced corporate secretarial services. This approach is often more cost-effective and ensures a qualified professional keeps things in order, particularly for smaller teams.

Make Board Meetings Effective

Board meetings are more than a legal obligation—they're where strategy is set and risks are identified early. Skipping or rushing them can lead to undocumented decisions and unclear accountability.

Even small boards with a few directors benefit from regular, documented meetings. This ensures alignment and supports the company's growth.

Balance Power and Oversight

In smaller companies, one person might serve as director, shareholder, and manager. While legal, this can lead to unchecked decisions or oversights.

Where possible, separate these roles or ensure key decisions are reviewed by another party. A second perspective on contracts or finances can prevent errors and maintain balance.

Communicate With Shareholders

Shareholder disputes often arise from miscommunication or missing records. These are avoidable. Keep your share register updated, document ownership clearly, and notify shareholders about meetings or major decisions.

These steps are mandated by Singapore law and often managed by a company secretary. However, it's your responsibility to ensure they're done correctly.

Prioritize Accurate Recordkeeping

A common mistake is assuming records are being maintained when they're not. Missing documents can complicate fundraising or business sales.

Ensure your company has:
- An up-to-date constitution
- Accurate registers
- Resolutions for key decisions
- Proper financial statements

Many corporate secretarial services in Singapore offer digital storage solutions—use them and review records periodically.

Anticipate Potential Risks

Good governance means thinking about what could go wrong. Consider:
- Are you monitoring cash flow?
- Is customer data secure?
- What's the plan if a key employee leaves?

You don't need a formal risk committee to address these. Regular discussions about potential risks can keep your business prepared.

Stay Informed on Regulatory Changes

Singapore's regulations are clear but evolve over time. Deadlines shift, new reporting standards emerge, and incentives change.

A reliable secretarial services Singapore provider will notify you of relevant updates. If managing compliance in-house, ensure someone tracks changes from ACRA, IRAS, or MOM. Ignorance isn't a valid excuse.

Final Thoughts

Corporate governance doesn't need to be complex—it just requires consistency. Clear roles, accurate records, and proactive risk management strengthen your business, whether you're scaling or staying compliant.

A capable company secretary, whether in-house or through corporate secretarial services, is more than a legal necessity. They're a key partner in ensuring compliance and clarity.

"As we grow older & our fire possibly starts to dim under the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities, it is incredibly important that we encourage & inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us."
