Packs of kids ride bikes up and down my street all day long in the summer.

...While bozos on Nextdoor and elsewhere continually screech that they must be "up to something," and "where are the parents?" and other NIMBY horseshit.

These are the same dim bulbs who bitch about Kids These Days spending all their time in front of their screens and never going outside. Gee, maybe that's because every time they do go outside you try to call the cops on them?

One of the main reasons I maintain a ND account, to tell these NIMBY types to STFU and let kids be kids LMAO

In my area though, ND is fairly balanced, so once I start commenting that in a post, others usually join in lol

๐ŸŒ The International Pajeet: The World's Penultimate Problem.

A treatise.

My Standing: A consulting programmer / software engineer for >20 years. I have many colleagues in IT from programmers, architects, network engineers, directors, recruiters, etc...

I have dozens of pajeets stories, both first and second hand, about their incompetence and other issues, but for this entry i really only want to focus on this point:

noauthority.social/@Bernard@frโ€ฆ

This is the tinkertoy version of the problem...

in reply to Richard

Now is it the case that people doctor-up, lie, or fabricate parts of their resume?

Yes, it has happened since the invention of the resume. But pajeets do it more frequently than most.

But it is worse.

As people have pointed out, in india any retard can get a degree from a "university" for not much money, while attending few or no classes, or classes that have nothing to do with their supposed field of study.

But it is worse...

We used Ivanti ( Pulse Secure ) for years along with Cisco for VPN/Web portal tasks. Ivanti had one zero day after another, but it was very popular with some executives so it was kept around. It had some advantages over cisco anyconnect and I preferred it until it was obvious that it was a bad product that we shouldn't use. And Anyconnect got better, some.

One kid had a dad that was a Freemason (their Charter... leader?--whatever it's called). None of the kids except that kid went onward to join Freemasonry. I'm saying Massie could be like those kids.

I'm not dismissing it as a nothingburger, but a "Senior DeMolay" is nearly akin to saying "Eagle Scout." The oldest you're allowed to be in DeMolay is 18-21 (depending on the state) and then you're out.
They use DeMolay like Scouts in some areas.
Each chapter IS led by a Freemason (not good), but I'd say Scouts are just as bad of a fraternity *of kids* as DeMolay (but not as bad as Freemasonry, the adult fraternity).

If he did move up and joined Freemasonry, instead of staying at the "kiddie table" as essentially a Scoutleader (he could have been 19 and stayed for a few months, and DeMolay would post this for clout, like universities do for their famous), then yeah a brow raised is very reasonable.

(I don't see a political solution anyway, so I'm not rooting for Massie as some workable angle or needing protection. I just like when he pisses them off, so I'd like him to stay in Congress for that reason alone ๐Ÿ˜†)

CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA! The June Border Statistics are in and, once again, they are the LOWEST RECORDED NUMBERS IN UNITED STATES HISTORY. The U.S. Border Patrol reported ZERO releases of Illegal Aliens into the Country. In addition, Customs and Border Protection only had 25,243 โ€œNationwide Encountersโ€ throughout the entire month, which is absolutely STAGGERING, considering the Biden Administration was โ€œencounteringโ€ tens of thousands of people every single DAY. Americaโ€™s Borders are Safe and Secure, and the entire World knows it. All we need to do is keep it this way, which is exactly why Republicans need to pass โ€œTHE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL.โ€ We still have Radical Left Judges trying to open the Border, and defy the Supreme Court, which is why Republicans must be smart, strong, and never let these Crazed Judges turn us into a Third World Country. The Men and Women of Border Patrol, ICE, and CBP are doing an amazing job but, they need more help and, they are counting on Republicans to, GET IT DONE!

I don't know what that looks like, exactly, except that the same things are always true-- relationships are the core unite of changemaking, as @zteutsch.bsky.social puts it. grassroots organizing is always the way. We gotta build coalitions, build movements, build things that grow and last.

When Microsoft locked an ICC prosecutor out of their email, it proved just how easily U.S. power can reach across borders and into the heart of global justice, writes Paul Budde.

THE RECENT INCIDENT involving Microsoft and the International Criminal Court (ICC) should send a chill down the spine of every democratic nation.
Following a sanctions order from White House, Microsoft locked ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan out of his enterprise-level Office 365 account.
That account wasnโ€™t personal โ€” it was part of the ICCโ€™s institutional infrastructure.

And just like that, an American tech giant disabled access to a key international legal actor.

...

Whatโ€™s worse is the normalisation of it all. We scroll past headlines like โ€œMicrosoft cuts #ICC accessโ€ and carry on with our day. The sociologist Alexei Yurchak coined a term for this: hypernormalisation โ€” the idea that everyone knows the system is broken, but we all pretend things are normal because no one can imagine how to change them..."

July 2, 1863, was Day 2 of the Battle of Gettysburg. The day saw 150,000 troops locked in combat across a four-mile front. From Little Round Top to Culpโ€™s Hill, the clashes on day 2 of the battleโ€”Devilโ€™s Den, the Wheatfield, Peach Orchard, and Cemetery Hillโ€”saw over 20,000 casualties. Leeโ€™s Confederates sought to break Meadeโ€™s fishhook line, while the Union fought to hold the high ground, pushing both armies to the brink.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

At dawn on July 2, 1863, Meadeโ€™s 90,000-strong Union Army fortified Cemetery Hill, Culpโ€™s Hill, and Cemetery Ridge, forming a defensive fishhook. Reinforced by II, V, and XII Corps, Meade prepared to repel Leeโ€™s next strike. Across the field, Leeโ€™s 70,000 Confederates held Seminary Ridge and Gettysburg, with Longstreetโ€™s and Hillโ€™s corps west, Ewellโ€™s north. Lee planned a double assault: Longstreet to hit the Union left, Ewell the right, aiming to collapse Meadeโ€™s line.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

Delays in Confederate positioning, especially Longstreetโ€™s march, postponed attacks until afternoon, setting up a ferocious clash. Around 4:00 PM, Lt. Gen. James Longstreetโ€™s First Corps launched Leeโ€™s main attack on the Union left. Hoodโ€™s division, over 7,000 men, targeted III Corps under Maj. Gen. Daniel Sickles, who had advanced to a vulnerable salient at the Peach Orchard, leaving Devilโ€™s Den exposed.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

Hoodโ€™s brigadesโ€”Lawโ€™s Alabamians and Robertsonโ€™s Texansโ€”stormed Devilโ€™s Den, clashing with Birneyโ€™s division in a brutal fight among massive boulders. Artillery roared, while sharpshooters picked off officers. The Confederate push aimed to outflank the Union line, threatening Little Round Top and the entire Union position. By 4:30 PM, the Wheatfield, a 20-acre clearing south of the Peach Orchard, became a slaughterhouse.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

Hoodโ€™s and McLawsโ€™ Confederate brigades, including Andersonโ€™s and Semmesโ€™, collided with Union III Corpsโ€™ reinforcements, like de Trobriandโ€™s brigade. Around 5:00 PM, Barnesโ€™ V Corps division and Caldwellโ€™s II Corps division joined the fight, turning the field into a seesaw of charges and countercharges. Regiments like the 17th Maine and 1st Minnesota fought ferociously, but Confederate pressure surged.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

By 6:30 PM, after six major assaults, the Confederates held the blood-soaked Wheatfield.

At the peach orchard along the Emmitsburg Road, McLawsโ€™ Confederate division targeted Sicklesโ€™ III Corps. Barksdaleโ€™s Mississippians and Kershawโ€™s South Carolinians charged, shattering Grahamโ€™s brigade with rifle volleys and cannon fire. By 6:00 PM, Hillโ€™s corps, including Andersonโ€™s division, joined, overwhelming Humphreysโ€™ Union line.

in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

Sicklesโ€™ corps crumbled, with Sickles wounded and his men retreating toward Cemetery Ridge. The collapse exposed the Union center, but Confederate momentum slowed, unable to exploit the breach fully as dusk approached.

As Devilโ€™s Den fell, Hoodโ€™s Confederates eyed Little Round Top, which was key to the Union left. Col. Strong Vincentโ€™s brigade, including Col. Joshua L. Chamberlainโ€™s 20th Maine, raced to hold the hill.

in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

Lawโ€™s Alabamians and Robertsonโ€™s Texans were met with fierce fire from the Union forces as they charged repeatedly. The 20th Maine, at the lineโ€™s end, repelled assaults, with Chamberlainโ€™s bayonet charge breaking the Confederate push. Reinforced by Weedโ€™s brigade, the Union held Little Round Top by dusk, saving Meadeโ€™s flank but losing Vincent and in their desperate stand.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

As evening arrived, Lt. Gen. Richard S. Ewellโ€™s Second Corps struck the Union right. Johnsonโ€™s division attacked Culpโ€™s Hill, clashing with XII Corps under Greene. The entrenched Union troops repelled Confederate charges. Simultaneously, Earlyโ€™s brigades, Haysโ€™ and Averyโ€™s, hit Cemetery Hill, briefly seizing XI Corpsโ€™ guns. Hancockโ€™s II Corps counterattacked, driving the Confederates back by 9:00 PM. The Union right held firm, thwarting Leeโ€™s plan to collapse Meadeโ€™s line.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

The day saw over 20,000 casualtiesโ€”roughly 10,000 per side. Union resilience, from Chamberlainโ€™s stand to Greeneโ€™s defense, preserved Meadeโ€™s line. Leeโ€™s near-successes emboldened him, while Meadeโ€™s army, battered but intact, braced for another Confederate onslaught the next day. July 2, was Gettysburgโ€™s bloodiest day, with savage fighting in the Wheatfield, Devilโ€™s Den, Peach Orchard, Little Round Top, and Culpโ€™s Hill.
in reply to Obi-Two al-Menashani

Leeโ€™s plan to crush Meadeโ€™s flanks failed against heroic stands by the Union forces, though the Confederates came agonizingly close to victory. Both armies suffered crippling losses, yet neither yielded. As night fell, Meade fortified his fishhook, anticipating Leeโ€™s next move. Lee, believing the Union center vulnerable, planned a massive assault for July 3 as the warโ€™s turning point loomed, setting up Gettysburgโ€™s final day.
in reply to Mike Masnick

No we aren't subtle about what we want to do. We want illegal aliens to be deported.

If troops invade our borders, we shoot them.

If invaders are not wearing the uniform of their country, they can be considered spies and shot on sight.

Instead, we stupid Americans, give these illegals the same sorts of due process a citizen would have before deporting them

Would you have made the same stupid statement about Alcatraz?
