Which memo did i miss?

Isn't #Netanyahu, PM of #Israel, on an #Interpol #UN #TheHague kinda wanted list?

How can he visit the #USA, without getting arrested?

As a German - yeah, i'm pulling that card (also, I didn't do it, i'm a millennial) - there shouldn't be "only following ze orders" - how is this guy not in custody, yet?

Did the UN/TheHague/Interpol lift their warrant - why?

(I mean, #Putin doesn't travel [much] internationally - imagine why!)

in reply to Multi Purr Puss

🧵 2/n NO, this is not a rhetorical question - i'm NOT an influencer - i am 1 of millions, amongst a #demos, which needs to figure stuff out, in order to sculpt a beautiful #democracy!

I guess, #TheHague would be the most reasonable entity to lodge an inquiry..

..unless someone can notify me of a reliable #news post, outlet..

Nobara is created by Glorious Eggroll, the creator of Proton GE, which is a more up to date version of Proton to run your games through Steam. Nobara takes Fedora, and adds the Wine dependencies, Steam, all necessary codecs for video playback, 3rd party drivers, like their own packages for the Nvidia drivers, which need a separate repo on Fedora, and a LOT of fixes to various packages.

So, let's compare the post-install process for Nobara and Fedora.
Nobara gives you a welcome app that's actually useful, and will offer to download codecs needed for video decoding and encoding. You can also install drivers there, like the nvidia or amdgpu pro drivers.

It’s not a HUGE timesaver, if I'm honest. Maybe something like 5 minutes after the install.

You can also change the layout and accent colors straight from the welcome app, with layouts based on Windows, Windows 11, macOS, GNOME, GNOME 2, or Unity.

The default experience on Nobara on the "official" version uses a heavily modified GNOME. You get a taskbar, windows style, with Dash 2 panel, and the Arc Menu GNOME extension, for a more traditional menu. You have the APpIndicators as well for notification tray icons, you get BLur My Shell, for blurred translucent elements here and there, you get desktop icons, accent colors that can also be applied to GTK3 and flatpak apps, Pop Shell, for the auto tiling capabilities, and Wireless HID to display the battery level of controllers, keyboards and mice in the battery indicator. Window buttons also include minimize and maximize here.

The laptop uses a 12th gen i7 12700H, with 16 gigs of RAM, and an RTX 3060, and everything runs from an SSD.

With shadow of the tomb raider, running the game at the native 1440p resolution, on high details, Nobara got 87 FPS on average, with a minimum of 72, and a maximum of 144.

On Fedora, using the same settings, and resolution, I got 83 FPS, with a minimum of 67.

Running Horizon Zero Dawn, at 1440p, on high details, Nobara got an average of 64 FPS, with a min FPS of 22, and a max of 161, with a score of 11591.

Fedora got an average of 63 FPS at the exact same settings, with a score of 11281, a high of 159 and a low of 21.

And in Total War Warhammer 3, at 1440p, on medium settings and ultra unit size, Nobara reached 71.6 FPS on average, with highs up to 86 and lows down to 58. Fedora, with the same settings, got 69 FPS, nice, with a max of 84 and a low of 59.

Nobara comes with its own graphical package manager, on top of GNOME Software. This thing show everything that is installed, or the available updates. It lets you install flatpak packages, and it has a graphical repo manager.

Just to see if there was any difference between distros, I also tried to connect various bluetooth controllers, namely an XBox Series controller, and a PS5 dualsense.

On Fedora all controllers connected immediately, and worked as intended, without any noticeable input latency. On Nobara, same experience.

On Nobara, installing resolve didn't require anything specific. All the dependencies were already there, the nvidia drivers they package are perfectly good for it. You download it, you run the installer, and it works. Nobara even uses the cuda drivers, which has never been necessary for me on Fedora, I just install the cuda related libraries from the repos, or rpmfusion.

Border Patrol Agents Ambushed by Active Shooter in Texas

A shooter armed dressed in tactical gear opened fire on Border Patrol agents as they arrived at a facility in McAllen, Texas, on Monday.

We've lived in this house for 4 years. Since we moved in Wife has wanted a screen door on the front. I have told her several times that it wasn't made for one and the jamb wasn't thick enough. She would say, so fix it. Like it was nothing. The boy was home for the long weekend so on Saturday he took me in his truck to get everything I needed. Sunday, I reframed the front door and put on a storm door. A painter is coming next week to paint the new framing. 1/2

Brazil is doing a terrible thing on their treatment of former President Jair Bolsonaro. I have watched, as has the World, as they have done nothing but come after him, day after day, night after night, month after month, year after year! He is not guilty of anything, except having fought for THE PEOPLE. I have gotten to know Jair Bolsonaro, and he was a strong Leader, who truly loved his Country — Also, a very tough negotiator on TRADE. His Election was very close and now, he is leading in the Polls. This is nothing more, or less, than an attack on a Political Opponent — Something I know much about! It happened to me, times 10, and now our Country is the “HOTTEST” in the World! The Great People of Brazil will not stand for what they are doing to their former President. I’ll be watching the WITCH HUNT of Jair Bolsonaro, his family, and thousands of his supporters, very closely. The only Trial that should be happening is a Trial by the Voters of Brazil — It’s called an Election. LEAVE BOLSONARO ALONE!

General, Maja

We have received worrying news from the Hungarian prison hospital, which we cannot further verify or specify.

Today, July 5, 2025, Maja reported in a telephone conversation with her family about the assessment of the doctors at the prison hospital where Maja is currently being held and cared for:

Maja now weighs only 65 kg and has lost about 13 kg.
The liver and kidneys are no longer in the best condition.
There are reduced levels of iron, phosphorus, vitamin K (important for blood clotting) and hormones.
The bilirubin level (a pigment from the breakdown of red blood pigment, which is excreted via the liver/gall bladder) is elevated.
There is water retention in the foot.
Eye twitching was observed.

The treating physicians also stated that they do not feel bound by Maja's advance directive or by Maja's refusal of involuntary treatment. They would act if Maja's condition worsened, regardless of Maja's stated wishes.

This attitude clearly contradicts the ethical guidelines clearly formulated by the World Medical Association in the Malta Declaration. Furthermore, forced treatment against a patient's will would constitute a criminal offense in Germany.

We therefore call again and with great urgency:

Maja must be able to speak confidentially, i.e., face-to-face, with an independent doctor in German or with the assistance of an interpreter, and be examined by them. This is important so that Maja can correctly understand and classify the findings.
The Foreign Office must intervene immediately, not only through the embassy but also at the highest level.

A tragedy is looming that can still be prevented. This doesn't require special rights or privileges, but rather adherence to internationally valid rules, formally signed by Hungary, as well as respect for fundamental and human rights. And it needs a foreign minister who will finally actively defend the constitutional principles of Germany and Europe, and thus Maja's dignity.

>Maja's statement on ending the hunger strike

July 14, 2025

General, Maja

-Dear fellow human beings, companions and supporters,

"My name is Maja. I've been on hunger strike since June 5th. I began it as a protest against the illegal and yet unredressed extradition from Germany to Hungary a year ago, the repressive persecution of anti-fascists, the prejudicial and questionable conduct of the trial, as well as the ongoing solitary confinement and the inhumane conditions in Hungarian prisons. Now, after almost six weeks, I've decided to pause my hunger strike.

I don't want to put any further strain on my health, because I feel that if I don't turn back now, it will soon be too late. Even if my demands were met, it would be of little use. I would be scarred for life, and perhaps already am. I never wanted to let it get this far; I naively hoped that a step as radical as the hunger strike would finally raise awareness among those in positions of responsibility and everyone who can make a difference, so that they would take action after a year of reassurances, smiles, and ignorance.

There's not much left of me now. My body – a skeleton, with an unbroken, combative, and vibrant spirit. It smiles, seeks freedom and community on the horizon, and refuses to accept that there is no justice. But I'm not ready to take the step into imminent death. Sure, it's uncertain; there may still be days, maybe weeks. But if I were to lose consciousness, I would incur a debt toward the people fighting by my side, a debt I'm not ready to burden anyone with. Just as I'm not ready to subject myself to coercive measures.

On July 1, I was transferred to a prison hospital 250 km from Budapest, as even then, serious concerns were being raised about my health. The new place is quieter than the prison in the big city, but just as isolated, if not more so. Contact with my family is just as limited. My lawyer, always an indispensable support, now needs a whole day to visit me. During my one-hour walk in the yard, I don't meet any fellow inmates. I spend the remaining 23 hours in my cell, as there are no recreational activities here. The loneliness is tearing me apart, homesickness lingers on the horizon. Medically, it is possible to nurse my body back to health here, but a mental recovery seems impossible even here. With an imminent transfer back to Budapest, nothing would have changed, because what made the hunger strike a necessity awaits me there. Neither hospital nor prison in Hungary can be a solution.

My demands remain unchanged! They must be returned to Germany or placed under house arrest and subjected to a due process of law. I am determined not to remain silent tomorrow and will continue to protest as long as there is a need to do so.

I am calling off the strike now so that no one is responsible for long-term or permanent health damage. However, this step does not release anyone from the responsibility to create humanitarian, pain- and suffering-free prison conditions for all, to conduct independent, due process that does not prejudge, and to ensure the integrity of prisoners, respecting their dignity instead of despising and punishing them. If this does not happen, and if my demands continue to be ignored, I am determined to resume the hunger strike.

I'm demanding what's necessary—that I can be home with my family, that I can fulfill my potential through school, work, etc., that I can prepare for the trial on equal terms and not be buried alive in a cell. I'm still waiting for a clear and honest statement, an apology from those responsible for the extradition, and an offer of reparations. Even if it comes last, it's the most important thing to me.

Thanks to all those who have spoken out, who stand by our side, and to those who have courageously stood there for a long time, to those who unswervingly advocate for necessary anti-fascism, to those who support, who sacrifice nights and days, who donate and are anchor points. This diversity means resistance and utopia at the same time. My thoughts are always with family and closest companions, sensing the pain they are going through and admiring how bravely and selflessly they endure. My thanks today has words. But rest assured, the seed of solidarity with what is possible lies in fertile soil. So I hope that not only I, but many others have been able to unite courage and willpower in the last few weeks to look forward hand in hand, never forgiving, but with a smile."

In solidarity. A Presto, mi farò vivo.

Day Update

>After 40 days of protest in custody, Maja T. ends hunger strike in Hungary

-After 40 days, Maja T. ends her hunger strike in Hungary. Her health had deteriorated significantly. Hopes are turning to Foreign Minister Wadephul.

"Nonbinary anti-fascist Maja T. was on hunger strike in Hungarian custody for five and a half weeks, 40 days. On Monday morning, T. ended the protest. Wolfram Jarosch, Maja T.'s father, and T.'s lawyer, Sven Richwin, confirmed the move to taz. Jarosch said it was Maja's own decision.

The reason for calling off the hunger strike was the recently significantly deteriorating state of health and the fear of permanent damage, Jarosch said. There is also hope that Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU), with the announced trip of representatives from his ministry to Hungary this week, will actually at least bring an end to Maja T.'s solitary confinement in Hungary. "We hope that something serious will finally happen," Jarosch told taz. "After Maja's illegal extradition to Hungary, the Foreign Office would be morally obligated to do so."

-Maja T. is accused of serious attacks on right-wing extremists in Budapest in February 2023, on the sidelines of the Europe-wide "Day of Honor" march. T. was arrested in Berlin in December 2023. Six months later, she was extradited to Hungary – illegal, as the Federal Constitutional Court later ruled. Since then, Maja T. has been held in solitary confinement in Hungary, and faces up to 24 years in prison in an ongoing trial in Budapest. At the beginning of June, Maja T. therefore began a hunger strike to demand better prison conditions, a fair trial, and her return to Germany.
Forced feeding threatened

-Due to her deteriorating health, Maja T. was recently transferred to a prison hospital on the Hungarian-Romanian border, where she was also placed in isolation. Her father, Wolfram Jarosch, was able to visit Maja T. there for the first time over the weekend and subsequently reported to the taz newspaper that Maja was "not feeling well." "Maja has lost a lot of weight, her cheeks are sunken, and the weight loss is clearly visible." Maja T. has since lost 14 kilograms, her liver and kidneys are damaged, and her blood counts are too low.

-Jarosch also stated that her heart rate had temporarily dropped to 30 beats per minute, and there was a risk of cardiac arrest. Hungarian doctors had recently suggested implanting a pacemaker or force-feeding Maja T.

-Sven Richwin, Maja T.'s lawyer, also told taz that Maja's condition had become "increasingly worrying in recent days." "Maja took advantage of perhaps the last window of opportunity in which a self-determined decision was still possible and chose life—also so that she could have a say in the fight for humane prison conditions and due process." Richwin said he was "very relieved and impressed by Maja's determination over the past few weeks."

-However, even ending a hunger strike still carries medical risks, emphasized Richwin and her father, Wolfram Jarosch. Maja T. must now slowly begin eating again to avoid the potentially life-threatening symptoms of refeeding syndrome.
Foreign Ministry delegation travels to Hungary

-Representatives of the Left Party, the Green Party, and finally the SPD have recently called for improved detention conditions for Maja T. and her return to Germany. Last week, the taz newspaper reported that a delegation from the German Foreign Office would travel to Hungary this week to address Maja T.'s case. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) also publicly confirmed this on Saturday. He stated that they would talk to the Hungarian government "to initially achieve improvements in Maja T.'s detention situation." Wadephul also emphasized, however, that Hungary had reaffirmed its interest in pursuing its own prosecution and that these were "extremely serious allegations" that would also lead to criminal proceedings in Germany.

-Father Wolfram Jarosch called on the German Foreign Office to achieve a concrete improvement in his child's situation during the trip to Hungary. "The Foreign Office must not return from Hungary empty-handed." The German government must "finally act" and "bring Maja back to Germany – or at least ensure an end to her solitary confinement in Hungary."

-It's still unclear who exactly will travel to Hungary and what exactly will be negotiated, Jarosch said. "But I very much hope that something concrete will finally happen. That the violation of the law, which has lasted for over a year for Maja, will finally be brought to an end." Maja needs an end to solitary confinement and at least a transfer to house arrest in Hungary.

-Left Party MEP Martin Schirdewan also called on Monday for Maja T.'s "immediate" return to Germany. "The lukewarm words of the Foreign Office are not enough. Maja T. must receive justice as quickly as possible. And that means reversing the illegal extradition." It remains "inexplicable" that Foreign Minister Wadephul has so far taken little action to correct the existing injustice.
Further charges in Germany

-Maja T. is said to belong to a group of militant anti-fascists who last lived in Saxony and Thuringia. The Federal Prosecutor's Office recently filed charges before the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court against six other left-wing activists who are also accused of the Budapest attacks and who had been in hiding for two years. Other left-wing activists will soon have to answer in separate proceedings before the Dresden Higher Regional Court, also for these and other attacks. Another Budapest suspect, Hanna S., has been on trial in Munich since February."

July 7, 2025 @ 18:00 Good evening (according to TV-Guide-in-the-60s-time) family & friends❣️ This morning I wrote a little song with my "bedroom ukulele" - the pink Enya Nova - which I will record and post when I'm ready for the fame and fortune that is sure to follow...or when I next get dressed at least 😉. I have slept much today, and when I woke up the last time I didn't feel too far adrift so I put up a Picture Day post if you are interested [chia.owly.net/picture-day-july…]; doing anything with media - graphics, video, audio - makes my eyes blur and head ache and spin but I felt it was worth a shot to see if anything had changed since the last time I tried it; it hasn't but at least there is a new post up today. Updated what I'm eating today too [chiachow.net/what-i-eat], and added something that is SO DON to his Digest page [chia.owly.net/dons-digest]; I can see his face and hear his voice when I read it, it is so typical and makes me smile. Pete just went to take a nap so I may try my keyboard for a minute, and then all devices/sound/video off and blindfold on for a while. This will be it for tonight but, God willing, I will see you tomorrow❣️🤕😎🤫🙏
