so,
i see:
debian announce their seeking new vibe coders
(amidst their orwellian bigoted criteria for being a contributor, for "inclusion")
on same day i see
open ai hire psychiatrist to diagnose an llm after it convinces users to end their own lives
(and to e.g. seek lethal revenge on sam altman for killing the user's girlfriend who now lived in the llm).
seems like debian are ending themselves.
tragedy & comedy.
get out what you put in?
crazy in, crazy out?
like feeding the algorithm, if you engage with what you hate, it provides more of that.

heh, not important.

in reply to Digit • • •A huge bit of FOSS projects have decided to "get political" now. I don't give a darn what your politics are, just forcus on the friggin' code, willya? Please?
I don't know if you've discovered Lunduke yet, but he documents all kindsa political craziness in FOSS that interferes with development by excluding contributors who don't subscribe to a particular political ideology. So very weird. But not totally unexpected.

in reply to Digit • • •yeah.
i went off lunduke for years, recently resubscribed. [a lesser wrong].
(... i currently happen to be listening to
* and been searching around some of the issues raised,
* * & closed some tabs of the prior similar investigations,
* * * seeing again the spuriousness of the attacks,
* * * that all seem fall into hoisting themselves with their own petard,
* * * * baselessness unveiled
* * * * hypocrisy unveiled.
though whenever i'm listening to lunduke, i'm ever reminded of my old quip: "in a sea of misinformation, everybody's a shill".)
"get political", yeah, gotta be careful around that little orwellian psyop nugget, how it's deployed, misdirects us with its insidious redefinition and conflation and omission. ... free software is a political philosophy, that's what united us, transcendent of other divisions... so what, now we're going to allow these other issues to divide us, to deprive us of freedom, for nothing but worse to make worse yet? no.
yep, not the criteria. back to the code. cease messing with freedom, y'all. 😀
