IMO FSF's role is to be a steward and promoter of Free Software values and definition. For example, by giving well argumented opinions on which licenses satisfy the Free Software Definition, but also which software and hardware best fulfills the spirit of Free Software and which doesn't.

I agree it does a poor job at that, but that doesn't mean it should be doing something else.

The nation state system, Western conceptions of property rights, and the theater we call "rule of law" are all reaching their logical ends.

We need a detailed proposal for what a post-nation state could look like.

This might sound unhinged to many; after all, imagination around other systems, other ways of being, and other types of civilizations, other ways of doing trade and sustaining life, those are all things we are taught not to think about or take seriously, and communities who practice alternatives are have always been ignored when possible, or met with violence.

Il s'est dit convaincu que les institutions émergentes reflètent le véritable équilibre des pouvoirs dans l'économie mondiale. Lors des délibérations du deuxième jour du sommet, la Russie a dénoncé le fait que les pays à faible revenu et à revenu intermédiaire dépensent davantage pour le remboursement de leur dette extérieure que pour leur propre développement, et a averti que cette situation échappait à tout contrôle, même dans certains pays développés.

Il a dénoncé le fait que l’ #Occident subordonne l’octroi de son aide financière à des considérations politiques. À titre d’exemple, il a cité l’octroi de fonds d’« aide militaire » équivalant à 500 % du PIB de l’Ukraine, alors que de nombreux pays africains n’ont pas pu accéder aux recettes nécessaires pour soutenir leurs prévisions de développement.

Contrairement à ces pratiques, il propose que la nouvelle Banque de développement des BRICS se distingue par son innovation et s'attache à tirer parti des efforts des pays membres du groupe pour renforcer leurs économies et améliorer leur bien-être.

Les BRICS contribuent à 48,5 % de la population mondiale, représentent 39 % du PIB, 24 % du commerce extérieur total, 43,6 % de la production de pétrole et des réserves mondiales, et 78,2 % du charbon. Ils excellent également dans la création de technologies alternatives, l'utilisation des nouvelles technologies et la transition numérique.

The mitigation is pretty straight-forward.

For #Ubuntu at-least (I don't run RedHat/ Fedora):

Edit /etc/default/grub as root.

In the line that says GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="...", add (or append) panic=0.

Followed by: sudo update-grub. (Takes effect on reboot).

This will prevent your Linux system from launching a #DebugShell if an attacker repeatedly enters a wrong passphrase for decrypting your Luks #boot #volume.

Israel continued its genocidal onslaught on Gaza, with medical sources telling Al Jazeera that at least 30 Palestinians had been killed since dawn on Tuesday.

“It was a sleepless night here in Gaza, marked by an intensification of air attacks and the use of multiple aerial vehicles, including fighter jets, drones and helicopters to pummel residential areas and spaces that had been designated as ‘safe zones’,” Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reported from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.

At least nine Palestinians were killed during an Israeli drone attack on a tent sheltering displaced #Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area near Gaza’s southern city of Khan Younis.

In a separate dawn attack, two people were killed and others injured in Israeli air raids on the Hakr al-Jami area in Deir el-Balah, the Wafa news agency reported, citing medical sources.

Israeli planes also bombed a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Bureij refugee camp in central #Gaza, reportedly killing at least four people.
