in reply to Guido Günther • • •Hmm, I had not realized it was so ambiguous -- I am looking for on screen buttons for navigation - no gestures required.
On Android, this looks like back, home/apps and (open) app overview on screen buttons.
Does phosh offer this?

in reply to Guido Günther • • •I installed the latest postmarketOS and found it to be missing, which is why I asked in this release announcement.
I'm guessing that there has been no changes in this release to improve this?
I also really disliked not having navigation buttons on screen, so while discoverability may be forced, it seems inferior to having buttons in my experience.
On screen buttons are predictable and accessible - gesture navigation is invisible and hard to understand, given no affordances.

I hadn't realized you were a developer. Presumably there are no plans to improve this? I would much rather run phosh - I just don't think it makes sense for me to force myself to use a UI that is worse when I am willing to "pay" (in screen real estate) for a better one.
