it's always been like that. Europe has always been hostile to Russia and abhorringly racist. Either directly through colonialism, or indirectly through their corporations appropriating resources and labour in the Orient, Africa and south America.
The difference is that Israel is being a little bit too loud nowadays and that they are crumbling economically. The shortlived prosperity after ww2 and the liberal facade(caused mainly by that prosperity imo) in domestic policy have created an absolutely undeserved idea that somehow Europe is mature, just, progressive etc. And even these freedoms are being taken away from us now that there is no economic growth.
I am simplifying a little bit but the main power structures that enabled Europe to get where it's at today have never changed, so even though we truly have more freedoms on average than the rest of the world, it's because we don't affect the ruling class' foreign policy too much and because we have been systemtically oppressing either directly or indirectly the countries outside the West and stealing their wealth.
The Palestinian struggle for freedom and self determination is a perfect opportunity for all of us to realize this and demand a truly just world.

Tα ξημερώματα της Τετάρτης 9/7/2025, η ΕΛΑΣ σε συνεργασία με τις Κτιριακές Υποδομές (ΚΤΥΠ) και τον Δήμο Αθηναίων, εκκένωσαν τον ελεύθερο χώρο του Αυτοδιαχειριζόμενου Κήπου Κάτω Πατησίων, στην Πάτμου και Καραβία 23. Ο κήπος των 2.1 στρεμμάτων που ξανάνοιξε στη γειτονιά στις 13 Ιουνίου 2025 μετά από 2 χρόνια για να γίνει ένας ανοιχτός κοινωνικός χώρος και ένα δημιουργικό εργαστήρι αυτοδιαχείρισης, οριζοντιότητας και κοινωνικής αλληλεγγύης στα Κάτω Πατήσια, σήμερα έκλεισε από την αστυνομία, την ΚΤΥΠ και τον Δήμο Αθηναίων ώστε να επιστρέψει στην πρότερη κατάσταση του. Στόχος τους είναι να ρημάξει ώστε κάποια στιγμή να «γκρεμιστεί», να αποχαρακτηριστεί, να το μπαζώσουν και να το τσιμεντοποιήσουν. Η Δημοτική Αρχή του Χάρη Δούκα σε συνέχεια της παρακαταθήκης του Κώστα Μπακογιάννη επιτίθεται και εκκενώνει απελευθερωμένους χώρους που μάχονται για περισσότερο πράσινο και λιγότερο τσιμέντο. Σε ΚΤΥΠ, Δήμο, Χρυσοχοϊδη και εργολάβους, ένα πράγμα έχουμε να πούμε: ΔΕΝ ΦΕΥΓΟΥΜΕ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΓΕΙΤΟΝΙΑ, ΕΣΕΙΣ ΔΕΝ ΧΩΡΑΤΕ ΕΔΩ. ΟΧΙ ΑΛΛΟ ΤΣΙΜΕΝΤΟ ΣΤΑ ΠΑΤΗΣΙΑ 36 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΚΑΤΑΛΗΨΗ ΠΑΤΜΟΥ ΚΑΙ ΚΑΡΑΒΙΑ! in reply to Sir Matt • • •— BOTGR: I used to be a dog handler-in-training on a FEMA urban search and rescue team (NE-TF1). The red tape and delays involved in getting the team to Ground Zero after 9-11 were ridiculous, let alone being deployed to smaller incidents.
Drove the search teams crazy, since there’s a limited window of opportunity to find survivors. It wasn’t unusual for someone to say, “Why are we training all our dogs to find live people? We might as well just mostly train cadaver dogs.” 😞

in reply to Lady MountainJay • • •— it was very eye-opening to see the incompetency and sluggishness of the federal bureaucracy, and how it hampered what was otherwise a well trained and highly competent SAR team (thanks entirely to the tireless efforts of local fire departments and various volunteers).
When I started hearing conspiracy rumors that FEMA was hopelessly corrupt, it wasn’t hard for me to believe!
