Collated list. Thanks everyone. This fills my heart with joy.

in reply to Michael Gale • • •Good list. A few I would add that make my life feel more sane:
- own your media (music, movies, books); buy, don’t rent or stream
- turn off notifications for every app that you don’t need them for (you don’t need notifications for most of them)

in reply to Michael Gale • • •- Host a potluck instead of going out to eat with friends
- Sip your coffee/tea while doing absolutely nothing else
- Observe the things you feel compelled to clean and leave them for another day, or two, spend the cleaning time doing something more meaningful

- Go to the library
- Find the local activist centres and see what events they're doing.

in reply to Michael Gale • • •- Praise and encourage people instead of criticizing them.
- Take time to talk (and listen) to your kids and to old people in your family and neighbourhood.
- Support valuable independent media and organizations. Donate money to your Fedi instance.
- If you are a man, do one thing every day to support women actively.
- If you have a garden, make it a place for insects, birds, hedgehogs and squirrels (plants, water, food).
- Write down three good things every day by hand.

- Download videos instead of watching them online (cough... yt-dlp... cough)

in reply to Michael Gale • • •- Create a mutual aid project with others in your community
- Repair and upcycle
- Buy bulk food and make your own food from scratch (It's usually much cheaper and healthier, my favorite, bulk oatmeal and peanuts)
- Insist to yourself that you stop buying the things you know are harmful
- Build, value and test your own ethical system. Prioritize your ethics and then share them. Make collaborative ethics a part of your local, lived democracy.

in reply to Michael Gale • • •Is the "actual phone call" meant to be a replacement for something less wholesome or a new thing to do? (I hate phone calls. I only do that when it's the fastest way to arrange something, not a way of socializing.)
But to add to the list: give stuff away instead of throwing it out.

Here's a few more suggestions:
Sing with other people...out in a public space, if you can
Join a local time bank
Walk or cycle for local errands and say hello to people you recognise
Do a random act of kindness
