First impression: clean, really easy to sign up to and get going. Format looks like a mix between Twitter and Instagram.
I like the core ideas behind this platform. It's based in Australia, with servers in Ireland. Created by Issam Hijazi, an Australian-Palestinian, and backed by Tech For Palestine incubator.

Just to be clear: Palestinians who refuse to “voluntarily” enter this concentration camp will be MURDERED if Israel decides with no proof or obligation to provide any proof.

"Does anyone really believe that would not have happened if there were just some different executives at Google? The structural forces of capitalism, of the public market, of the demand for growth at all costs would have bowled them over too.
Indeed, we’ve already run the experiment on whether a set of companies and executives claiming they’d be better than the old guard will really deliver on that promise. That was exactly the narrative the tech industry sold to the world when it was a bunch of startups and scrappy founders fighting to displace the dominant firms they were going up against. They promised they would “do no evil.”
That narrative was valuable in selling themselves and their products to the public, with ample help from a credulous media that loves to chase money and power. Years later, we can see it was an effective marketing campaign that allowed them to evade regulation and taxation that applied to traditional industries for far longer than they should’ve gotten away with.
The tech oligarchs are just as bad as — if not worse than — the executives and monopolists that preceded them, and a new crop of founders won’t change the way that vast wealth and power tends to corrupt those who wield it.
There are certainly exceptions to these rules. Wikipedia remains a non-profit entity and Signal seems to be resisting the pressure to pursue growth at all costs. But they’re few and far between, and it’s not better founders that will change that. It requires upending the structural forces that push companies and the people who run them to cast all other considerations aside in the pursuit of power and profit."

Absolutely in love with these little guys recently, but I know I'm completely incapable of handling them. Tokay geckos are fast, defensive and have one of the meanest bites among all species of gecko that they like to use any time they feel threatened.

Conversely, chameleon geckos are just as adorable and much more handleable. They're curious, personable and absolutely tiny, with a fully-grown adult typically measuring between 2.5 - 3 inches in length.
I'm debating getting some of these, but I'll wait and see if I'm still interested in 3-4 months so I know I'm not just going through a lizard phase.

Jeder hatte erwartet, dass er die #Währung trotzdem nicht sofort freigeben wird, was m.E. auch keine Bedingung des IWF war, aber er hat immer gesagt, er macht es sofort, wenn die Bedingungen stimmen, und hat die Freigabe noch am #Tag der #Unterschrift, ein #Freitag, für den nächsten Montag erklärt. Niemand musste ihn zu seinem #Glück zwingen und “Furcht vor einem Wertverfall” hatte er auch nicht.
Dazu führt der Autor weiter aus:
“Anders als von Milei befürchtet, brach der Peso nicht ein, und es kam zu keinem Run auf die Banken, obwohl Argentinier nun unbegrenzt USD eintauschen können.”
Das ist geradezu lächerlich. Milei hat entgegen allen anderen, die genau das immer prophezeit haben, schon seit Mitte 2024 in jedem Interview behauptet, dass der Peso eine starke Währung wird. Am Tag nach der Freigabe, am Dienstag, hat er im Rahmen eines fünfstündigen Interviews mit extra gefertigtem handschriftlichem Skript allen #Argentiniern erklärt, warum der #Peso gegen den Dollar NUR STEIGEN KANN. Ganz nebenbei hat er den Argentiniern dann noch erklärt wer Carl #Menger ist, nachdem ihn der Moderator gefragt hat, was geschieht, wenn die Unternehmer trotzt erstarkendem Peso die Preise eingeführter Güter nicht senken.
Milei hat nichts “befürchtet”, er hat es gewusst. Die Anhänger der falschen Theorien hatten #Furcht und manche wohl auch die #Hoffnung, dass das scheitert.
Argentinien verzeichnet unter Präsident Milei beeindruckende wirtschaftliche Erfolge und einen Haushaltsüberschuss. Für nachhaltigen Aufschwung braucht das Land jedoch weitere Reformen und Stabilität.Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung
