in reply to LukefromDC • • •If Palestine's Resistance factions are trying to capture IOF troops alive, they need to be aware of the above themselves and watch for traps. Note that capturing armed enemy troops in uniform on the battlefield is accepted under anyone's laws of war.
Also consider this: Blowing up a tankload of IOF troops puts pressure on Netanyahu for one day. Capturing them puts pressure on Netanyahu every day.

Unknown parent • • •There is no opposition in Iran. All political candidates must be approved by the clergy, who run the country. It's an authoritarian theocracy.
After Israel and US attacked Iran, Iran begged Oman and Qatar to use to their influence with the US to pressure Trump to broker a ceasefire. They knew they were doomed otherwise. Their own population hates the regime, which is why there are now massive crackdowns.

Nothing could be better for Netanyahu and the government of Iran alike than a limited war between them, just enough to make folks "rally around the flag" instead of rioting in the streets of Tel Aviv and Tehran alike over governmental oppression. There was a lot of both a couple years ago as I recall...

As for Iran, a leaked report says their nuclear program was set back "months" by dropping bombs with a 200 foot penetration depth on bunkers dug 300 feet deep. All Iran has to do is dig out the entrances.
