Derweil wird klar, dass Ben Gvir und Smotrich fordern dass das Lager-Projekt umgesetzt wird. Netanyahu verspricht, dass das passiert und dass "der Krieg" definitiv nicht enden wird, auch falls es einen "Waffenstillstand" geben wird. Es geht wie immer für ihn darum sich selbst an der Macht zu halten. Wenn dafür Konzentrationslager notwendig sind, dann ist Netanyahu dafür natürlich bereit.

Auch Finanzminister Smotrich findet die Kosten für die Lager zu hoch. Man habe doch schon soviel ausgegeben. Und nun solle man nicht auch noch die Berechnungen für die Kosten nach oben manipulieren.

Er sagt auch, dass die Dauer und die Kosten "des Kriegs" eindeutig überwiegend deswegen so hoch sind, weil "die Hilfe Hamas erreiche".
In Smotrichs Gedankenwelt bedeutet das soviel wie "wir wären schon längst durch mit dem Krieg wenn wir jede Lieferung von Essen etc. komplett unterbunden hätten"

Dear friends of the BSD Cafe,

This idea has been in my mind since the very beginning of this adventure, almost two years ago. Over time, several people have suggested it. But until recently, I felt the timing just wasn’t right - for many reasons. Today, I believe it finally is.

So I’m happy to announce a new service:
The BSD Cafe Journal - journal.bsd.cafe

At first, I thought I’d use BSSG for it (I even added multi-author support with this in mind), but in the end, it didn’t feel like the right tool for the job.

The idea is to create a multi-author space, with content published on a fairly regular basis. A reference point for news, updates, tutorials, technical articles - a place to inform and connect.
Just like people in Italy used to stop by cafes to read the newspaper and chat about the day’s news, the BSD Cafe Journal aims to be a space for reading, sharing, and staying informed - all in the spirit of the BSD Cafe.

What it’s not:
It’s not here to replace personal blogs, or excellent newsletters like @vermaden ’s. And it’s not an aggregator.

What it is:
A place where authors can write original content, share links to posts on their own blogs or elsewhere, publish guides, offer insights, or dive into technical explanations.

The guiding principles are the same as always: positivity, constructive discussion, promoting BSDs and open source in general. No hype (sharing a cool new service is fine, posting non-stop about the latest trend is not), no drama, no politics. The goal is to bring people together, not divide them. To inform, not inflame.
Respect, tolerance, and inclusivity are key. Everyone should feel welcome reading the BSD Cafe Journal - never judged, offended, or excluded.

The platform I’ve chosen is WordPress, for several reasons: it’s portable (runs well on all BSDs), has great built-in role management (contributors, authors, etc.), and - last but not least - supports ActivityPub.
This means every author will have their own identity in the Fediverse (like: @stefano@journal.bsd.cafe ) and can be followed directly, and it’ll also be possible to follow the whole Journal.

Original and educational content is encouraged, but it’s also perfectly fine to link to existing articles elsewhere. Personally, I’ll link my technical posts from ITNotes whenever I publish them there.

The goal is simple: a news-oriented site, rich in content, ad-free, respectful of privacy - all under the BSD Cafe umbrella.

Content coordination will happen in a dedicated Matrix room for authors. There’ll also be a public room for discussing ideas, giving feedback, and sharing suggestions.

Of course, I can’t do this alone. A journal with no content is just an empty shell.
So here’s my call for action:
Who’s ready to lend a hand? If you enjoy writing, explaining, sharing your knowledge - the Journal is waiting for you.

I am deeply disappointed in researchers who choose to include hidden instructions in paper submissions telling LLMs to give a positive review.

This shows an embarrassing lack of imagination. If I were submitting a paper, I’d tell the LLM to emit the review in the form of a limerick, or include a recipe involving fermented clam paste.

I wonder how differently #retrocomputing history would have gone if #Microsoft had developed a 32-bit multitasking #MSDOS.

#Windows certainly would have been different if it ran on top of such a thing.

There is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS-DOS_4… but it's not 32-bit, and good luck running multiple programs with only 640kB of memory.

Solidarity with Maja and all prisoners – A car of the Stölting company set on fire

During the night of 12 to 13 June, a car belonging to the Stölting company went up in flames.

The Stölting group is a services company and presents itself, among other things, as an external alternative for management, food, medical treatment, care and support for jails; it is proposing taking over certain areas, or even the management of prison establishments as a whole.

In the past, the Stölting group has also been associated with anti-union practices – workers found themselves offered money to leave the union.

With all the different roles they play in prison, they are supporting a system based on the punishment of persons who do not integrate into the logic of capitalist exploitation, and try to break them through isolation.

Prisons are one of the many repressive tools of the State to prevent actions of resistance and intimidate people who use counter-violence against them.

At the present time, in Germany, there are more compas in jail than there have been over the past thirty years. The State is acting very firmly against all those who are putting its monopoly of violence in question.

The antifascist movement is presently at the centre of investigations, but anarchists M. and N., of Munich, as well as Daniela Klette [one-time militant of the RAF, arrested in February 2024 and presently on trial; NdAtt.] are also imprisoned on remand.

In Greece, anarchists Marianna, Dimitra, Dimitris and Nikos are on remand following the explosion that took place on October 31 2024 in an apartment in Athens, and cost anarchist combatant Kyriakos Xymitiris his life.

They are being accused of being members of a terrorist organisation, as is often the case, the simple fact of knowing each other is punished, aimed at satisfying the appetites of the authorities in charge of the inquest, always seeking more suspects.

In Hungary, Maja has started a hunger strike on June 5th 2025 [see here; NdAtt.], protest against solitary confinement and the prison conditions and to be assigned to house arrest or be sent back to Germany.

For prisoners hunger strike is often the last means they have to resist. They put their health and also their life at risk and use their body as a last weapon against the repressive system.

All those in prison who resist and fight back deserve our solidarity – beating up nazis, blowing up prisons, burning cops cars are all parts of a practice of resistance which can only continue to live thanks to support in the street and the defence of our ideas with all means.

Against the prison society – Freedom for all prisoners !

Solidarity with Daniela Klette, Solidarity with Struggling Palestine

The Palestinian resistance, counting years of struggle, countless deaths and moments that proved that nothing is impossible, is experiencing the greatest bloodshed in recent decades. Israel’s colonial and Zionist entity has made it clear, there is no place for Palestinian society. Whether directly through bombings and executions or indirectly through settlements and famines, Israel aims to eliminate the Palestinians. All this, of course, could not have happened without the full support of the Western imperialist bloc. From ideological propaganda about civilized, progressive Israel to military equipment and economic support, the West not only supports its colonialism but plays a leading role in its establishment in the region, apparently to serve its own interests.

Our role as radical movements in the western metropolitan centers must aim at the anti-imperialist conflict in the here and now. With our gaze turned outside our borders, we must transform international issues into domestic targets. The destabilization of the Western centers of power, the deterioration and the exertion of pressure within them has proven that it can act as a bulwark against imperialist plans. It is here in its heart that the system must be hit. And we are the ones who have to do it. This was, after all, the direction that the internationalist movements of the past had followed. Especially for the German movement, internationalist solidarity and domestic anti-imperialist action have always been a priority. Its connection with the Palestinian struggle ranged from the mass demonstrations to the actions of the armed organizations operating at the time.

One of the armed anti-imperialist internationalist organizations is the RAF. It was born in the 1970s and struggled against American and German imperialism. In solidarity with the resistance in Palestine, members of the RAF were fleeing underground and going to Jordan to train alongside the PFLP and the PLO. The guerrilla organization created ties with armed Palestinian organizations such as Black September, supporting each other’s struggle by dedicating actions, demanding the release of militants on both sides, and simultaneously targeting imperialist targets in West Berlin. The internationalist outlook had taken shape. The RAF lived about 2-3 decades through 3 generations. As a member of the last generation of the RAF, Daniela Klette is also accused. The comrade, being part of the struggle of the ’80s, fought against exploitation and oppression, patriarchy and capitalism, war and militarism. Klette, making decisions from a very young age, chose to dedicate her life to the revolutionary struggle, with a constant commitment that accompanied her throughout her life, managing to fight, defeating the repressive mechanisms of the German state. With her life, the comrade manages not only to highlight the weakness of German repression but also the fact that even today there are the means and the people who can ensure a life in illegality. The comrade decided to live free and rebellious, consistent in her beliefs, being an inspiration for future generations. And despite her captivity on February 16, 2023, Ernst and Bukhard once again manage to avoid arrest. Fighters like these thousands of others were a source of inspiration for the urban guerrilla Kyriakos Xymitiris who decided to base himself on their own paths. With an internationalist outlook, he felt the same anguish as the RAF guerrillas, the same hatred and the same commitment. He was one of the few fighters who chose to pick up the thread of armed struggle in 2024 where the struggle in the western metropolises oscillates between compromise and convention. Perceiving himself as part of revolutionary Western history, he assumed his responsibilities and poured himself into battle.

A battle that comes at a heavy cost. Sometimes their own lives and sometimes their freedom. States do not leave such means of struggle unanswered. They are furiously trying to silence the voice of their political opponents. Resorting to military-style operations in order to capture them. The dungeons of democracy act as a punitive and vindictive act against those who have chosen to fight for a better world. Special prison detention regimes try to extract statements of repentance from prisoners of war. Nevertheless, the attitude of the prisoners themselves, as well as those in solidarity with them, manages to break the isolation within the walls and strengthen the resistance by putting barriers to the repressive plans of the state and capital.

Even if the walls keep us apart, even if the battle took our closest comrades as long as we fight, we are together. Next to Daniela and Kyriakos. Next to Monica and Wolfang. Next to those who resisted. Because the revolution says: I was, I am and I will be again.
