Als Beweismittel wird zur Zeit vor allem der Lügendetektor benutzt, denn "wer nichts zu verbergen hat, der kann sich auch prüfen lassen". Das ist jedenfalls die Ansicht von FBI-Chef Kash Patel. Deshalb wird auch den Mitarbeitern nicht geraten, sich gegen eine solche Überprüfung zu wehren. Jedenfalls berichtet die "New York Times", dass seit Patels Amtsantritt der Einsatz von Lügendetektor-Tests bei FBI-Mitarbeitern zu einer häufigen Untersuchungsmethode geworden ist.
Michael Feinberg, Special Agent im FBI-Büro von Norfolk/Virginia, war überrascht als er von seiner neuen Abteilungsleiterin Dominique Evans zum Gespräch bestellt wurde. So erfuhr er, dass er trotz seiner belegbar guten Arbeit für das Büro nicht mit einer Beförderung rechnen könne, schreibt t-online.de. Seine Vorgesetzte riet ihm eher, sich auf eine Degradierung oder Versetzung einzustellen weil er mit Peter Strzok befreundet sei.
Strzok war negativ aufgefallen, weil er für das FBI die Ermittlungen bezüglich einer möglichen Einmischung Russlands in die Präsidentschaftswahlen 2016 geleitet hatte. Diese Tat hatte Strzok 2023 auf eine Liste von "Staatsfeinden" gebracht.
Obwohl ihm noch 5 Jahre für eine Pensionsberechtigung fehlten, reichte Feinberg 24 Stunden nach dem Gespräch seine Kündigung beim FBI ein.
Weiter hatten Strzok und Feinberg nichts zu verbergen ...
