GKN, QUARTO ANNIVERSARIO DI LOTTA

Quella del Collettivo di fabbrica ex GKN è la vertenza operaia più lunga della storia dell’operaismo italiano. Non tutti si sono accorti del fatto che la ex GKN è un esempio di organizzazione sindacale e sociale in tutta Europa. Un esempio di lotta politica da cui dobbiamo imparare, e verso la quale dobbiamo guardare. Il quarto anniversario della lotta ex GKN ci mette nuovamente di fronte alla realtà, mostrandoci ancora una volta un passo possibile. Το πραξικόπημα της 15ης Ιουλίου 1974 ήταν μια βίαιη έκφραση του ταξικού πολέμου. Οι ένοπλοι της εοκα εκάμαν το ίδιο που επροσπαθήσαν το 55-59. Εδιεκδικήσαν τα συμφέροντα της ε/κ αστικής τάξης για κυριαρχία στο νησί. Η εοκα β τζιαι το πραξικόπημα εν ήταν κάποια παρεξήγηση, ούτε σχέδιο ξένων δυνάμεων (που μπορεί να είχαν εμπλοκή) αλλά μια έκφραση των συσχετισμών τζιαι των διεκδικήσεων για τη μορφή τζιαι το μέλλον του καπιταλισμού στη νήσο της αφροδίτης. Ο μακάριος, που την άλλη, εν ήταν κάποιος άγιος αλλά κομμάτι μιας διαφορετικής, πάλε βίαιης, έκφρασης των συμφερόντων της ε/κ αστικής τάξης που είσσιε κλείσει την τουρκοκυπριακή κοινότητα σε θύλακες που το ‘63. Όσο μας ταΐζουν δεν ξεχνώ, εμείς εν ξεχνούμε: ο εχθρός μας ένεν ο άνθρωπος στην άλλη μερκά του συρματοπλέγματος, αλλά βρίσκεται μέσα στην ίδια μας τη χώρα, στην ίδια μας την κοινότητα.

The coup of July 15, 1974 was a violent expression of class war. The armed men of EOKA did what they had tried to do in ‘55–‘59: they fought for the interests of the Greek Cypriot ruling class, seeking dominance over the island. EOKA B and the coup were not a misunderstanding, nor simply a foreign conspiracy (even if outside powers were involved) – they were the result of shifting class forces and competing visions for the form and future of capitalism on the island of Aphrodite. Makarios, on the other hand, was no saint. He represented a different – yet still violent – version of Greek Cypriot bourgeois interests, the same ones that confined the Turkish Cypriot community into enclaves since 1963. While they feed us “I don’t forget”, we remember: our enemy is not the person on the other side of the barbed wire, but within our own society, our own community.

Nationalism is an ideology of death. The “national interest” is the interest of the bosses.
