i can see Magister being somewhat confusing as one might assume it was a title for people who have received a magister degree (much as we refer to people who have received a doctorate as doctors): en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magist… but “confusable for a title which does not actually exist” is still preferable to mage imo

which personally would be a strong mark in its favour for 'perceived validity', imho, but apparently that's not a common sentiment so... hm.
edit: 'perceived validity' being my mental model of how valid I expect society as a whole to perceive a thing, irrespective of my personal view of a given thing's validity (which is much more liberal).
In all honesty... why does it matter. Titles, of themselves, are purely anachronistic and designed to put people in their place, socially and professionally. I would prefer that titles, per sè, were simply abolished. They achieve nothing but segregation and classism...
Whoever designs financial statements should be shot.
They must have a class where they teach these accountant misanthropes how to design statements with such bizarre groupings, unclear descriptions, and weirdly off set numbers so that trying to make head's or tail's of the damn thing takes at least 5 times longer than it should.
Job security, make it look unreadable only they know the secret code. It's a grifter technology to seem special and knowledgeable. I think they invented liexicons for this purpose only now are people figuring out the trick.

We’ve also previously discussed the idea of all of us and our kids living together and keeping all the men in a separate house somewhere 🤣 and none of us want to remarry if death/divorce happen because men are too much work.

And not aiming at anyone in this conversation, at all, but there is a tendency for people WITH a best friend to assume those of us without can just go find one.

@astarsscreamsIndeed. I think the truest forms of friendship are exceedingly rare. One friend of mine has spent her whole life wanting a "best friend." The ride or die do everything together type. I told her that what she's imagining doesn't genuinely happen in the lives of most people. She of course is under the impression that she is one of a handful of outliers who hasn't received a "best friend" certificate.
But I do think that if friendship held more cultural significance, more people would find themselves with deeper and higher quality friendships - on average - than they do right now.
