We had dumpsters by the community center shared with these townhouses. We demanded the remove them because people dumped there and it cost us $800 a week to get the garbage removed. They were removed and cleaned up. The next day the area looks like this:

My Paris hidden gem is the "officine du Louvre", the bar of the "hotel du Louvre". It is on the expensive side, but the cocktails are very unique, the place is beautiful, and they have a large selection of non alcoholic cocktails, which are as sophisticated as the alcoholic ones.
If you end up near the Galleries Lafayette next to the Opéra Garnier, go inside and go to the rooftop, the view is nice.
rue Saint Anne near the Pyramides (lines 7 and 14) station is full of japanese restaurants and shops. There's a really nice park along the avenue Daumesnil (recommending getting off at Montgallet station on line 8) that takes you a good hour or two. The Marais quarter (Saint Paul station, line 1) was the gay quarter, now way less, but there are still a couple of gay things. Shodai is a nice tea salon with lots of deserts, and they have a couple locations across Paris

I still remember in May 2020, you could type in ANY 3 or even 4 digit number into Google, followed by "cases", and get pages of "news stories" about a "deadly COVID outbreak, NNN cases, somelocation, somewhere".
Sometimes you'd hit the jackpot and get a video carousel that accompanied the stories.
I don't recall ever guessing a number that didn't get a hit.

Good morning family & friends, and happy anniversary to us❣️ Today's page updates are a little different, with a slideshow of our wedding serving as the Video of the Day, and an appropriate - and true! - marriage quote as the Ain't That The Truth! graphic. A single, simple graphic is above, replacing the mini-devo. Our plans for the day are simple: we will go to church to worship God together (not going to Sunday school, for the sake of my head), and then go to a restaurant for lunch that we love and only go to on special occasions; the last time we went was on my birthday. Anyway, another sunny and gorgeous day outside, expected high of 71°F. No other plans except to get an ice cream at the Mussel Beach ice cream parlor (which will be packed because it borders that State Park which will be packed because it is Labor Day weekend!), and grill some burgers tonight for supper. I am hoping to play my keyboard - am LOVING my new music book, it is even BETTER than I expected! - but if a nap (aka "head rest" these days hahaha) takes precedence so be it.
