A graph prepared by National Bank economists is revealing. Canada's working-age population climbed by a record 204,000 in the first quarter of this year. By way of comparison," writes economist Stéfane Marion, "the UK population grew by 200,000 over a full year in 2022.
Yet housing starts in the first three months of the year in Canada amounted to just 57,000 units.
