Important reminder, if you own a domain name and don't use it for sending email.

There is nothing to stop scammers from sending email claiming to be coming from your domain. And the older it gets, the more valuable it is for spoofing. It could eventually damage your domain's reputation and maybe get it blacklisted, unless you take the steps to notify email servers that any email received claiming to come from your domain should be trashed.

Just add these two TXT records to the DNS for your domain:
TXT v=spf1 -all
TXT v=DMARC1; p=reject;

The first says there is not a single SMTP server on earth authorized to send email on behalf of your domain. The second says that any email that says otherwise should be trashed.

If you do use your domain for sending email, be sure to add 3 records:
SPF record to indicate which SMTP server(s) are allowed to send your email.
DKIM records to add a digital signature to emails, allowing the receiving server to verify the sender and ensure message integrity.
DMARC record that tells the receiving email server how to handle email that fails either check.

You cannot stop scammers from sending email claiming to be from your domain, any more than you can prevent people from using your home address as a return address on a mailed letter. But, you can protect both your domain and intended scam victims by adding appropriate DNS records.

UPDATE: The spf and the dmarc records need to be appropriately named. The spf record should be named "@", and the dmarc record name should be "_dmarc".

Here's what I have for one domain.

One difference that I have is that I'm requesting that email providers email me a weekly aggregated report when they encounter a spoof. gmail and Microsoft send them, but most providers won't, but since most email goes to Gmail, it's enlightening when they come.

The _dmarc record has a "rua" value, not mentioned in the original post, that tells email providers that I'd appreciate that they send me a weekly aggregated report of rejected emails.

by some of it's many avenues of harm, it's a catalytic mutagenic carcinogen,

  • carcinogen, causes cancer.
  • mutagen, messes up your flesh morphology and your dna, preventing healing, as a means of causing cancer
  • catalytic, it helps other carcinogens and mutagens be carcinogenic and mutagenic, and remains unchanged, to persist to do that again when more carcinogens and mutagens come by,

sugars & white starches, eating plenty of healthy/animal fats & full fat dairy & a lot more protein than what was recommended for me by their dietician. And I walk for 15 or 20 mins after every meal. The result - I've lost 10 lbs so I'm back in "normal" BMI range, no sugar cravings, A1C coming down. CDC needs to sever ties with the ADA & Big pharma. And patients need to listen to doctors like you, Dr. Dhand, & focus on a healthier diet overall & active lifestyle. That's a lot more sustainable."

Just to get through this surreal Monday. The internet connection went down while I was updating a server. I call support: "You need to open a ticket online." I go online, try to open a ticket: "Sorry, it only works from the main or backup line." I call support again: "Both the main and the 4G backup are down, so I can't proceed online." Operator: "I don't know what to do, our procedures don't account for this."

Fortunately, the second provider, also down (so I suspected a problem at the exchange) is more agile and smart. One click – an automatic check starts – without me saying or doing anything, I get a confirmation via SMS that they will send a technician to the exchange for a check because they can't reach it.

Needless to say, the first provider is a global giant, and the second is a smaller provider.

I'm more and more convinced about the choice of a smaller provider for FTTH – when, hopefully soon, they'll activate it.

My husband flew the F-100D (single seat) Phan Rang, Vietnam.

The Collins Foundation F-100F 56-3844 is flying again. The tail number has been painted as 56-3951 to honor Colonel George “Bud” Day who was shot down in the actual aircraft on 26th August 1967.

Thus blanket antitech sentiments...I understand where they come from. Plenty of technologies have only baleful effects, but others have potential good uses even if used for evil now.

I'm no Marxist, obviously. But I suspect Marx would shake his head sadly; he'd see these sentiments as coming from alienation. Alienated from their tools, their machines, and knowledge as to their workings, all products of the working classes ingenuity (and engineers are workers, degree and salary aside) they come to be seen as threatening monsters. And between being ordered to create things that indiscriminately deskill workers, and to produce vile things...how can the masses appreciate the genius of what they hath made, even under conditions of exploitation? Some even think mass social labor can only be used for the wealthy's vanity projects: that same mass mobilization of the social division of labor could meet every need, satisfy every want (proliferating or not, we will see what happens in the absence of advertising), solve many problems that bedevil the species...and bring forth the great wonders we want to bring into being.

Nothing is sadder than seeing people wanting to destroy what their class has worked so hard to build.

So there was this news report talking about how the number of homes exploding has been on the rise in recent years. They go interview some expert who says "about half" of the home explosions he sees are caused by natural gas lines. The report then goes on to discuss the various dangers and some safety tips for homes with natural gas.

Certainly a good PSA, but like...I am well aware that this gas is explosive. What I cannot figure out is how that is only causing HALF of the homes blowing up phonomenon. WTF is the other half?? I know we got some folks stockpiling guns and bombs in this country but surely not THAT MANY of those are going up each year, are they? But that's about the only thing I can think of, I can't imagine they're putting something like a water heater -- even one at Mythbusters scale -- in the same category as a gas explosion...propane grills and space heaters maybe? Would that blow up an entire house?

L’exécutif de la communauté des communes du Pays Mornantais a pourtant décidé de le déprogrammer du cinéma de Mornant, au sud de #Lyon, où il devait être projeté le 6 décembre dernier. Face à cette censure manifeste, le réalisateur, que nous avions déjà interviewé dans Télé Palestine, a décidé de réagir.

Vous invoquez dans vos déclarations pour justifier la déprogrammation de mon film auprès de l’association mornantaise, je vous cite « que le film a été tourné avant le 7 octobre, qu’il est donc anachronique avec la réalité d’aujourd’hui. Le diffuser aujourd’hui n’était pas opportun « .

Donc si je suis votre logique on ne doit pas non plus programmer de westerns ou de films sur les amérindiens, vu que le vol de leur terre et le viol des traités par les états Unis datent de quelques centaines d’années ?

Ensuite vous affirmez que mon film présente « le Hamas comme un mouvement de résistance ».

Je m’intéresse à Palestine-Israël depuis plus de 40 ans, et d’une façon approfondie depuis 25 ans.

Je me suis rendu 2 fois en territoires occupés. C’est mon 2eme film, donc oui j’affirme et assume ma compréhension de la situation en tant que « citoyen-observateur ».

Le #Hamas, comme d’autres mouvements ou groupes politiques palestiniens sont des résistants à l’occupation israélienne et cette résistance quelle qu’en soit la forme est un droit fondamental, reconnu par la charte des Nations Unis, textes signés par Israël, lors de son adhésion à l’ONU.

Les résistants de tout temps ont été qualifiés de terroristes, c’était d’ailleurs le cas de NELSON MANDELA, des membres du groupe MANOUKIAN, à qui la #France doit tant et a rendu hommage récemment.

Dois-je vous rappeler l’extrait de la conférence de presse du Général De Gaulle le 27 Novembre #1967, lorsqu’il déclara :
« …/… #Israël ayant attaqué, s’est emparé, en six jours de combat, des objectifs qu’il voulait atteindre.
