If you check the West Valley Fault map, you'll see that homes and office buildings were built (1) on top off; (2) around the; and (3) near the fault itself in at least ⅔ of the 100-km fault line.
In addition and as an example, from where I live—Makati-Pasay boundary—we're only 6-km away from the nearest part of it. It isn't a safe area not only because we're only 6-km away, but also because we are always subjected to liquefaction, so are the City of Manila and the Western part of Parañaque and Las Piñas cities. (The government provided an earthquake hazard map 5–7 years ago, you can check it.)
Let's face it, practically nowhere in the National Capital Region / Metro Manila is safe when, not if, the West Valley Fault moves.

The WVF to the north has been traced to start exactly underneath the aging Angat Dam. The government has not released any simulation on what would happen if Angat Dam breaks (I've been asking this for 10 years now). Then there is the La Mesa Dam in Quezon City too, which is connected to Angat Dam.
The south end of the WVF is near the boundary of Tagaytay and Laguna. And it doesn't end there, when I checked the WVF map 3 weeks ago, they included suspected fault lines further south, nearer the Laguna-Batangas border.
