TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ, CHIAPAS. The Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) highlighted the struggle of the searching mothers and families and criticized the government’s apathy and impunity in the face of these demands for justice.

Captain Marcos expressed that the searching mothers and families, with their aching hands and hearts, “knock, grope for the door that believes itself powerful, eternal, unbreakable.”

“Those hands don’t beg, that heart doesn’t plead. They only calculate where to vent their dignified rage and find, finally, truth and justice,” he affirmed.

Faced with this struggle, Marcos asserted that the door of impunity, cynicism, apathy, complicity, and contempt hides absences behind it “(like the door that says Colima Prosecutor’s Office and charges 200,000 pesos to hand over body parts).”

The searchers not only carry picks and shovels, they now carry sledgehammers and axes. That’s how challenging their endeavor is, he noted.

In a statement, the Zapatista warned that no one is safe from “the storm.” Listen to someone who has already suffered it, to searchers, to indigenous peoples, to all those people “who live from day to day, working from darkness to darkness for a few cents.”

Then, he specified, you will know that you are or were normal people, who thought they were safe with what they had built through their own efforts.

Learn, he said, “how the nightmare came kicking down your doors. How anguish became commonplace and changed your agenda and your daily life.”

Understand, he added, that no one is safe anywhere, regardless of skin color, gender, social position, or playlist.

Marcos suggested taking a look at what “those at the top” are planning for “the day after.” They don’t take you into account; they even plan to “impersonate” you.

Even more, the EZLN captain shared, “those at the top” dream of an artificial intelligence that develops enough to simulate vocation, spark, ingenuity, creativity, soul, or whatever you want to call “that which makes them human.”

Mitte April haben wir in der Hansestadt Stendal die Mitgliederversammlung unseres Kreisverbands Altmark abgehalten. Es war eine von mir vorbereitete Versammlung, rechtzeitig einberufen, mit einer dichten Tagesordnung und wichtigen Entscheidungen, wie der Wahl unserer Delegation für den bevorstehenden 52. Landesparteitag von BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN Sachsen-Anhalt in Magdeburg. Und dennoch: Es war eine Versammlung, die nicht allen Mitgliedern gleichermaßen offenstand.

Eines unserer Mitglieder, das auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen ist, konnte nicht teilnehmen. Der gewählte Veranstaltungsort – das ehemalige Gertraudenhospital – war nicht barrierefrei. Zwar hatte ich im Vorfeld eine mobile Rollstuhlrampe organisiert, doch sie erwies sich am Ende als ungeeignet. Das Mitglied kam, sah die Gegebenheiten, entschied dann, dass eine Teilnahme ohne Weiteres nicht möglich sein würde – und fuhr wieder. Die Versammlung hatten wir zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht begonnen. Wir verlegten sie daraufhin nach draußen, in der Hoffnung, diesem Mitglied doch noch die Teilnahme zu ermöglichen. Vergeblich.

Ich habe diesen Vorfall in den letzten Tagen oft durchdacht. Ja, ich habe frühzeitig versucht, einen geeigneten Raum zu finden – und unter Druck eine Entscheidung getroffen, um die satzungsgemäße Einladung zu gewährleisten. Ja, ich habe mich bemüht, eine Lösung zu finden. Und ja, ich finde auch, dass der anschließende Versuch des betroffenen Mitglieds, die Beschlussfähigkeit der Versammlung rechtlich infrage zu stellen, wenig konstruktiv war. Aber all das ändert nichts an einem einfachen, unbequemen Punkt: Ich habe es nicht geschafft, eine Mitgliederversammlung so zu organisieren, dass alle Mitglieder teilnehmen konnten. Das darf uns als Partei nicht passieren. Nicht, wenn wir es mit Teilhabe und Inklusion ernst meinen. Nicht, wenn wir uns zu einer barrierefreien Gesellschaft bekennen. Nicht, wenn wir Menschen einladen, sich einzubringen, und ihnen dann faktisch den Zugang verwehren.

Aus dieser Erfahrung heraus habe ich für den kommenden Landesparteitag einen Antrag eingereicht: Künftig sollen alle Landesparteitage und Mitgliederversammlungen der Kreisverbände ausschließlich an barrierefreien Orten stattfinden dürfen. Die Barrierefreiheit soll – neben der satzungsgemäßen Einladung und dem in einigen Satzungen vorgeschriebenen Quorum – eine verbindliche Voraussetzung für die Beschlussfähigkeit einer Versammlung sein.

Dieser Antrag ist keine Reaktion auf eine Auseinandersetzung, sondern ein Ausdruck von Verantwortung. Er soll helfen, solche Situationen künftig zu vermeiden – nicht durch Appelle, sondern durch klare Regeln. Denn Barrierefreiheit ist kein organisatorisches Detail. Sie ist ein Ausdruck unserer politischen Haltung.

Ich hoffe auf breite Unterstützung für diesen Antrag. Und ich wünsche mir, dass wir als Partei aus (meinen) Fehlern lernen – gemeinsam, ehrlich und mit dem Mut zur Veränderung.

As to the state of accessibility, in my case, for blind or low vision folks. For example, Could a blind or low vision person go into a library and use a screen reader, screen magnifier, braille device, reading machine or scanner, video magnifier or closed-circuit TV etc?

When men complain about bad experiences with screwed up women, all women within earshot all screech the same thing: "You chose the wrong woman!" Which is obviously true considering that he had a bad experience. At the very least, the two were not compatible.

Meanwhile, women endlessly complain about bad experiences with abusive men without coming to the same conclusion, and instead extrapolate those bad experiences and associated negative behavioral traits outward onto ALL men. The fact is that women are much more likely to actually choose that kind of mate, particularly when young. At that age they universally chase imbecilic Bad Boys™ and then wonder why it blows up in their faces. Then, a bit later in life, they go after the decent men that they should have gone after to begin with and take it out on them.

And although it's true that women have been bitching about men and everything else under the sun since the Garden, the boomer women kicked it into high gear in the 60's.

Well guess what? After roughly a half century of that innane bullshit, the pendulum is swinging the other way, and you can't complain and nag your way out of it this time.
