A man was stabbed to death. A woman was nearly killed. Then an armed guy walking his dog had to shoot to survive.
In Spokane, Washington, a man armed with a knife attacked multiple people in an apartment complex—one of whom didn’t make it.
But before the killer could claim a third victim, an ordinary guy walking his dog pulled his concealed firearm and ended the threat.

They do not own the Gaza strip by any legal standard, they are not allowed to decide who gets to dock or what they can or cannot bring. They are not the legal representation of Gaza, unless it is run as an open air prison.
The fact that a ship full of humanitarian aid is making the Israeli government go haywire exposes the exact problem. Thank you, Greta and all the other activists ❤️

Sea blockades are codified in international law. Nothing about this is kidnapping. Please don't use this blatantly wrong lingo.
@gretathunberg et. al. took a hostile approach on a sovereign nations regular navy, who told them they will be detained if they proceed.
Play stupid games, win stupid prices.

So, shipping food to a starving people is a “hostile approach” on the navy of the country sustaining that starvation.
Interesting lingo, indeed.

IDF even offered a bun to @gretathunberg, surely proves these are the good guys. This is a rescue kidnapping obviously.
The image also proves there was obviously *no* food at the vessel, but military equipment only.

I mean, they could have escorted and controlled the ship's unloading if they fear non-humanitarian goods reach Gaza. Would have made the point, IDF is willing to help the population - they proved the opposite.

I think we can all agree that nobody expected weapons on that ship. It was a publicity stunt, not a smuggling operation.
That said, the idea of a blockade is to block any ships from reaching the blocked destination. If they start making exceptions for celebrity yachts, they can stop the blockade as a whole.

in reply to Andi Popp 🇺🇦 • • •@AndiPopp how come a blockade is legal? Could any country just impose a blockade around Germany? Would you find that legal or okay? According to the United Nations, no shipment of humanitarian aid is allowed to be blocked to Gaza. Israel are the ones breaking international law here.
Breaking the rules of the blockade is an imperative and the only right action, by all global courts that is not a crime.

Even specifically the UN demanded a safe passage for the Freedom Flotilla with Greta Thunberg! This is not a stunt, no matter how many times you say it.

in reply to Erik Uden 🍑 • • •Ok, a lot to unpack.
1.) Sea blockades against Germany have been established in the past and I do think, they are considered legal by today's standards.
2.) The opinions about the legality of a blockade always differ, often depending on which side of the conflict you stand. That still does not make a ship being stopped by a blockade a kidnapping.
3.) The ship in question did not carry a significant amount of aid. It's not even big enough. This is why I consider it a publicity stunt.

in reply to Andi Popp 🇺🇦 • • •@AndiPopp 1) Israel doesn’t recognise Palestine as a nation, so Israel can’t consider themselves to be at war with Palestine, and thus can’t do a legal blockade against it.
2) It wouldn’t have been a kidnapping if they stopped the ship. But they took the people from the ship and brought them to Israel. That’s kidnapping.
3) So now it’s okay to kidnap people on international waters because they’re doing a publicity stunt?

1) That is a play on semantics. A nation can be at war with a non-state actor – like e.g. in most civil wars. It is possible to enact a legal blockade against territories controlled by the non-state actor you are at war with.
2) It's not kidnapping the same way police taking smb to jail or a soldier taking somebody as a POW is not kidnapping. Not every case of smb forcing smb else to go somewhere is kidnapping.
3) Those are your words. Not mine.
