Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" is nothing short of a starvation budget.
Proposed are $300 billion in cuts from SNAP food assistance–which will affect 11 million people, including 4 million children.
In the five states with the highest rates of hunger alone–Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas–the bill would cut food stamp benefits for over 1.1 million people.

...It "criminalizes" an entire class of people who are *right now* doing nothing but working Aisle 13 of Home Depot (or picking strawberries in the field), but now we're going to drag you out of Home Depot (or the field or your home), put you into prison and then... monetize "loaning you out" to Home Depot.
It's doing away with the legal system entirely. And it could be anyone they choose.

Unknown parent • • •@cejjacobs yes, the 13th amendment allows slavery for criminals, that is not new and the for-profit prison system is a horror in the US.
The scary part is NOT that this is out in the open (it's never been secret) — the scary part is they have abandoned the rule of law entirely.
ANYONE can be a "criminal"...this does away with the pretense of crime....
