Known officially as COVID variant NB.1.8.1, nimbus was first detected in March 2025 in Europe and Asia, said Matthew Lara, chief of staff for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

somewhere in my files I've got a photo of myself menacingly wielding one of those. it was one of the old Cortana (now Nott Industries) dissipators, and hitting someone with it would have ruined their entire MONTH.

it used to be called the Stati-Cat, but it's the GS-3 on this page. There's nothing there for scale but it's like 14 inches long and the spikes are wonderful, terrifying, oh, 8 gauge razor sharp steel pins.
The thing does actually work. Where we installed a tower with some on it, well grounded, it completely stopped the building it was on from being repeatedly smacked by lightning during the summer months.
