Something I realized about separating responsibility from authority is that it creates an endless cycle of apathy and degradation.

If you have responsibility for something but no authority and a problem happens, you just want to the problem to go away as fast as possible. But since you have no authority there’s nothing you can do to prevent other problems from happening.

So you just become apathetic and lazy & you just want to “make it to Friday” endlessly. And that’s why nothing gets better.

Hay una banda (la de la imagen) generada por IA en Spotify que tiene 500 mil oyentes mensuales, lo que genera 200USD por mes.

Todo indica que en el futuro (demasiado) cercano las plataformas de streaming de música estarán completamente basadas en música generada por IA, pagando menos comisión a artistas reales.

@fcoarias, bueno, aunwue fake bands siempre han existido, mucho tiempo antes de AI. Por ejemplo, asi de pronto, Boney M, Koko Mia y otros, donde se usaba algunos chavales carentes de talento, para que actuaban con play back en el escenario.

La industria discografica ha hecho mucho daño a la musica y el arte durante mucho tiempo. Pujando estrellitas incapaz de cantar o tocar alguna nota derecha sin samplers y electronica, mientras artistas verdaderos están muriendo de asco tocando en el Metro.

Que ahora usan AI es sólo una consecuencia y desarrollo lógico para lanzar discos en cadena para el consumo rápido.

Tucker was fired because he covered the Jan 6th videos on his show. The network owners were annoyed that he wasn't following orders and too much of a free hand so they fired him. At the time, he was the top ranked show by viewers on any network.

After he went independent he found he could actually earn more money than on his former Fox contract. He has continued to release top tier interviews.

Fox tried to sue him to prevent him from making content but their lawsuit failed.

Yeah cryptocurrency so far looks like a non-starter as an actual alternative because you still effectively end up with exchange points (banks original form) due to the stupid amount of different cryptocurrencies.
And their fees are stupidly high you might as well pay the 1€ extortion that your bank has (luckily mine hasn't pulled that crap for SMS-2FA).

Pretty much why so far it's mostly been used for grey/black market kind of stuff as for them the only other way is cash.

I visited Durham once before but that might well have been more than twenty years ago. I remember the cathedral very well, but the town itself is much nicer than I remember.

I've spent the whole afternoon traipsing about, buying books in the cathedral gift shop and the local three storey Waterstones. If I didn't have a baggage limit, I'd have spent dangerous amounts of money in there...

So far this has been an extremely smooth trip. I collected my fabric-printed posters and the quality is excellent : better than our office's paper printer. Total delay on the trains : 4 minutes. Now I just have to survive the week and get down to Cardiff.

If there is anyone out there with a scanner, who has issue 11 of Total! magazine, would you be willing to scan a part of a page for me.

Below is the cover of this issue as well as the affected page.
A previous owner has cut out a coupon on the opposite side.
That side is no issue as the ad is reprinted in the following issue as well, which I have, so I can replace that easily.

The problem is page number 61, where the bottom review for a Super Nintendo game is also gone.
If anyone can get me a clean scan of this part, I'd be able to complete this magazine without any missing sections.

His daughter, who by now was three decades old, had two lions as pets. No one knew. No one cared.
These animals were well cared for and the Veterinarian was on 24/7 call if necessary.

One day, the local newspaper did an article on her lions. What an uproar.

Humans have canines and incisors for a reason. We are omnivores. Through 250,000+ years of evolution we have evolved to eat both flora and fauna. The reality is plants can't give us all the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients we need. And "dietary supplements" aren't always the answer either. Specifically, the initiative seeks to prevent the remote disabling of videogames by the publishers, before providing reasonable means to continue functioning of said videogames without the involvement from the side of the #publisher.

The initiative does not seek to acquire ownership of said videogames, associated intellectual rights or #monetization rights, neither does it expect the publisher to provide resources for the said #videogame once they discontinue it while leaving it in a reasonably functional (playable) state.

BEWARE: The Greater Israel Project moving full speed ahead:😡

🇮🇱 🇵🇸 Israeli annexation of Judea and Samaria has been placed back on the table, with 15 Likud ministers—including Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana—signing a letter urging Netanyahu to do just that before the Knesset’s summer session ends on July 27.

Why annexation? Extending Israeli sovereignty over the entire of Judea and Samaria would “prevent another massacre in the heart of the country” and “ensure Israel’s security for generations,” the ministers wrote.

And why now? While according to the letter, the time for annexation is ripe following “the State of Israel’s historic achievements in the face of Iran’s axis of evil and its sympathizers,” there’s certainly more to this story.

For one, this may well be a right-wing attempt to attain compensation for ending the war in Gaza—or even a ceasefire. And they’re likely hoping for support from President Trump, whose 2020 Israeli-Palestinian peace plan would have seen Israel annex settlements in Judea and Samaria.

Indeed, right-wing Israeli activists are maintaining direct contacts with the Trump administration on this very issue. Bibi, they believe, has other priorities with the president, such as Iran’s nuclear program and normalization with Syria and Saudi Arabia—and, as a result, they fear he isn’t really pressing the White House on annexation.

But there’s also another possibility: This could all be a ploy to help push an expansion of the Abraham Accords. How so? In June 2020, while Netanyahu seriously discussed unilaterally annexing parts of Judea and Samaria, the UAE’s Ambassador to the U.S. Yousef Al-Otaiba wrote an op-ed on the front page of Yedioth Ahronoth, warning that “Israeli plans for annexation and talk of normalization are a contradiction.”

Skip forward three months: The annexation dream is dropped, and Israel, the UAE and Bahrain are signing the Abraham Accords at the White House.

They’re unlikely to admit it, but those 15 ministers may well remember Yousef Al-Otaiba’s plea—and have now set their sights on Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman.
