Our useful idiots in politics and their opportunistic little eco-woke bureaucrats keep lecturing us: “Buy local! Within 15 minutes of your home!” … Meanwhile, they’re flying around in private jets and treating themselves to the best of everything, of course. Except their absurd taxes, anti-business policies, and “zero parking” rules here in Quebec have killed off all the small shops. No more bakeries, no more butchers… Luckily, in my area, a fruit shop that had closed down recently reopened. But even on foot, all you find are big chain stores – and even those are vanishing. So in the end, you’re forced to shop online. Amazon sends them a big thank you, by the way.

Starting to look more seriously into the STM32H750/753.

The 753 is the part I really want to use, the 750 is the same die fused down to disable all but the first 128 kB of flash. But I picked up several of them during the chip shorage and I feel like I should put them to use.

They're mostly comparable to the H735 I use now. Key differences:
* CPU Fmax down from 550 to 480 MHz
* RAM nearly doubled from 564 to 1024 kB
* Flash increased from 1 MB to 2 MB in the 753, but reduced to 128 kB in the 750
* 40 more GPIOs (128 -> 168)
* Package enlarged from 201 ball 0.65mm (10x10 mm) to 265 ball 0.8mm (14x14 mm).

That last bit is what has me the most interested. The 0.65mm H735 package is usable on OSHPark 4L, barely, but you lose a lot of IO and the parallel memory controller etc. aren't practical to use.

While the H75x is available in the same footprint, you can also get it in the 0.8mm package which should be much more friendly to the large via sizes offered on OSHPark. So it could be a winner for prototypes where I care more about ease of access to IO and MCU-FPGA interfacing than about absolute max CPU performance.

I've been using the H757 dual core in the .8mm 256 BGA. I'm pretty happy with it.

It takes a bit to get used to debugging, you flash it using the M7 which does memory for both cores, but if you want to debug the M4 you have to connect without downloading anything.

The biggest pain so far is M4 can't read some sysmem stuff - like ADC calibration values. I use a shared memory struct to pass data between cores.

I use the M4 to handle ADC, UART, etc, and M7 to draw the MIPI display.

La police militaire enquête sur des signalements d'abus physiques, psychologiques et sexuels au sein de l'unité de défense antimissile Arrow ; le chef de l'armée de l'air supervise personnellement l'enquête.

Sept soldats d'active servant au sein de l'unité de défense antimissile Arrow de l'armée de l'air israélienne ont été arrêtés mardi par les enquêteurs de la police militaire, soupçonnés d'abus physiques, psychologiques et sexuels sur des membres de leur unité, a appris Ynet mercredi.

Les actes présumés, qualifiés de « bizutage », se sont déroulés sur plusieurs semaines et ont visé un groupe d'une dizaine de nouvelles recrues, incluant des actes de sodomie.

Sept soldats conscrits servant dans l'unité #136 (système de défense #Arrow) du réseau de défense aérienne ont été arrêtés par les enquêteurs de la police militaire, soupçonnés d'abus physiques, psychologiques et sexuels sur leurs camarades.

Selon les soupçons, les actes auraient été commis lors de rituels de bizutage s'étendant sur plusieurs semaines et auraient inclus des actes de sodomie.

They think they’re saving the world with their speeches, but by constantly preaching and acting like eco-Ayatollahs, they’re doing the exact opposite: pissing people off so much they vote for the worst out of sheer spite.

Ça me fait marrer, tous ces p’tits milléniaux et Z bien-pensants qui veulent m’expliquer la morale écologique… à moi ! Moi qui marche à pied, qui n’ai même pas d’ordi à la maison, qui me branche une fois par semaine sur une connexion internet communautaire. Et eux ? Avec leur consommation de giga qui ferait fondre un iceberg en 3 clics, leur téléphone qu’ils changent dès qu’un nouveau sort (“oh mon Dieu, la caméra a 2 pixels de plus !”), leur soi-disant vertu de cycliste ou de trottinette électrique… comme si une batterie tombait du ciel sans arracher la moitié de la planète. Leur vertu ? J’en ai ma claque. Ils croient sauver le monde avec leurs discours, mais à force de faire la morale et de jouer les ayatollahs de l’écologie, ils font exactement l’inverse : ils dégoûtent les gens et les poussent à voter pour le pire… juste par esprit de contradiction.

@shortstories I respectfully disagree with not recognizing the SNES as incredible hardware with incredible upgrades to chips and software to achieve some amazing results from real creativity. Nintendo cared about their customers and spent a TON of money and effort to show everyone how much had improved and that the SNES wasn't just a money-grab with zero effort put in. It wasn't just a sticker swap.

I'm witnessing professionals spending hours to engineer prompts for Copilot to do basic things like find a line in a file that has a string in it, or figure out who committed most frequently to a sub-path in a repository, or generate boiler plate code for classes.. None of these things require #AI. `grep`, `git log..`, and editor snippets have existed for a long time. They are quick. They are EXACT. They are FREE. They do not boil the oceans. They do not displace the workforce. They are more efficient and productive.

Learn the tools of your trade. If all you're doing is using AI, that means AI can and will replace you.

I unironically save time by simply writing the scripts and code to do this myself, even putting the ideological problems aside, why would anyone worth their salt in the tech industry use a system that slows them down? the answer is they won't

Ce matin nous partons faire deux trois courses au supermarché du coin avec 14 ans. Dans les rayons nous croisons plusieurs personnes habillées en scout. Microsoft plans to donate $4 billion worth of cash, technology and training to enhance artificial intelligence education, a substantial bequest as the Redmond software giant aims to make billions more off a technology it expects to be on par with the introduction of electricity.

Microsoft President Brad Smith announced the commitment Wednesday during an event held at the Museum of History & Industry in Seattle.

The $4 billion effort over the next five years will flow through a new organization within the company called Microsoft Elevate, which the company describes as a successor and expansion of the longtime Microsoft Philanthropies team. Elevate will have about 300 employees, with the goal of helping more than 20 million people earn AI credentials.
