Illustrating every legendary creature in Wisconsin folklore: The Fish-Fox and the Fish Hound.

Both are of the "fearsome critters" from lumberjack legends, and both are domesticated critters that can help you to catch ludicrous amounts of fish!

The Fish-Fox is, as the name would imply, a combination of fox and fish. It could imitate "the sound of an angleworm" and thus lure vast quantities of fish ashore for its master.

The Fish Hound, by contrast, was neither fish or hound, but rather was a crossbreed between a mink and a helldiver grebe, and this bird-mustelid hybrid just happened to resemble a doggo by shear coincidence (but with mink fur on half its body, and helldiver feathers on the other). The Fish Hound was an expert fisher, and was extremely intelligent. You could tell it the amount of fish you wanted, the type of fish, and even the size, and within moments it would retrieve exactly what you had asked for.

#JeanetteJara just won #Chile’s left-wing presidential primary with 60% of the vote, making her the first communist with a real shot at the presidency. If the right splits their vote in November, she could make history.

But the road ahead won’t be easy—she’s up against deep-rooted anti-communist bias and two right-wing candidates with shady family legacies.

Here's my probably unpopular opinion about a lot of recent US social media activism. If you're not willing to condemn all political parties doing a bad thing, then your complaint about only one group doing a bad thing that others also do, may actually be hollow and performative.

It probably even takes less characters to post condemning the thing itself and the institutions that allow it, then targeting only one subgroup of people doing the overall thing.

in reply to Ashley M. Gjøvik, JD

without assigning blame to a primary actor it’s hard to mobilize against it.
Ice is bad is less effective in this sense than trump is using ice to do significantly more bad even if the democrats helped along the way.

Ultimately, I’m currently in various intersections of specific people want to murder me, & almost none of them are democrats, and they certainly aren’t leading the charge. It takes way less spoons to say the GOP wants me dead than to explain politics.

in reply to ¡Abbie!

This is kind of what I'm saying though

You could say: the US systemically engages in fascist policing and using state violence against poor and non-white groups, and it needs to stop

Instead of saying one political party, in this current moment is doing this bad stuff, and other sides are less bad even if they do it too, so we need to stop the thing we're seeing on news right now, but it would harm us to discuss how other groups do this or how the US has done this for centuries

Not specifically, but explored many corners of Estonia driving around on weekends. Lots of abandoned towns and bases. I often used this guy’s website as a scouting tool for things to find and see.

I spent too much time thinking being a #kernel #dev for a #bsd project was like paramount or opus for coding in the *nix world.

Glad to be free of that idea in my brain only I planted there as a teen. Sure, I *could* move forward with being a kernel programmer if I pushed for it, but just a source of #joy

I do appreciate the OpenBSD, NetBSD, and even FreeBSD (I say even because I never really used FreeBSD in a serious context like OpenBSD and NetBSD), but I can do that without having an active part in it and still be happy letting that unhealthy bucket-list item expire.

I don't need to prove myself to anyone, I've done enough in my life so far.

At this point in life, I've definitely honed in on what brings me joy and what doesn't with technology. My career is stable and in-demand, I don't need to always be improving it.

#Retrocomputing is where it is at for me now. It's still flexing the same muscles but with greater challenges for near zero functional purpose.

Why would anyone purposefully code 8-bit computers with 64-bit ones exist now with more capabilities with hardware found everywhere for next to nothing?! 😀

Billg who is on the list said the exact same thing as Trump did here. Effectively "epstein is dead why are we still talking about him?"

My whole job is constantly reloading five potential responses to everything I have to read to respondents. The whole trick is never missing a beat so people don't begin to develop doubt or begin critical investigation. You don't want a survey respondent to think about anything other than what you're asking them. Popping the bubble is about ten times more work to deal with.

Most people don't have a clue I'm handling them.

Me: The article sucked. You would think the Appeals Court provided some legal justification for their ruling, but all the article had to say was this:

"Judges sitting at the Paris Appeal Court on Thursday ruled that Amandine Roy, a 53-year-old clairvoyant, (pictured) and Natacha Rey had every legal right to make the sulphurous allegations".

Today in Labor History July 10, 1894: The Pullman Rail Car strike was put down by 14,000 federal and state troops. Over the course of the strike, soldiers killed 70 American Railway Union (ARU) members. Eugene Debs and many others were imprisoned during the strike for violating injunctions. Debs founded the ARU in 1893. The strike began, in May, as a wildcat strike, when George Pullman laid off employees and slashed wages, while maintaining the same high rents for his company housing in the town of Pullman, as well as the excessive rates he charged for gas and water. During the strike, Debs called for a massive boycott against all trains that carried Pullman cars. While many adjacent unions opposed the boycott, including the conservative American Federation of Labor, the boycott nonetheless affected virtually all train transport west of Detroit. Debs also called for a General Strike, which Samuel Gompers and the AFL blocked. At its height, over 200,000 railway workers walked off the job, halting dozens of lines, and workers set fire to buildings, boxcars and coal cars, and derailed locomotives. Clarence Darrow successfully defended Debs in court against conspiracy charges, arguing that it was the railways who met in secret and conspired against their opponents. However, they lost in their Supreme Court trial for violating a federal injunction.

By the 1950s, the town of Pullman had been incorporated into the city of Chicago. Debs became a socialist after the strike, running for president of the U.S. five times on the Socialist Party ticket, twice from prison. In 1905, he cofounded the radical IWW, along with Lucy Parsons, Mother Jones, Big Bill Haywood and Irish revolutionary James Connolly. In 1894, President Cleveland designated Labor Day a federal holiday, in order to detract from the more radical May 1st, which honored the Haymarket martyrs and the struggle for the 8-hour day. Legislation for the holiday was pushed through Congress six days after the Pullman strike ended, with the enthusiastic support of Gompers and the AFL.

info-war.gr/epithesi-toy-israi…

The World is SICK AND TIRED of paying TAXES to ELITE PEDOPHILES that NEVER FACE JUSTICE.

WE’RE NOT LETTING THIS GO.

Yes, we are still talking about Epstein.

We are still talking about 9/11.

We are still talking about Hunter’s laptop.

We are still talking about JFK, RFK, MLK, USS Liberty, Covid Vaccine, the list goes on.

Horrific crimes perpetrated against humanity that have not been resolved or for which no one has been held accountable.

Of course, Texas is a disaster, but that does not lessen the need for accountability.

Does your mortgage stop because a bank financially collapses?

Where is the appointment of a new 9/11 Commission?

I, for one, am never letting this go. I don’t care if Trump himself is on the list…I’m never letting it go until Justice is served.

What we need is a full investigation into the connections between Robert Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, Gislaine and Isabel Maxwell are obviously a part of something bigger. If we have people working for Intel agencies, if it be CIA, MI6, ASIO, or Mossad, they cannot be allowed to break the law within our communities without answering for their crimes. Just because an individual marks something classified should never shield them from scrutiny forever.

We have to look at the why behind the compromise.

Why was it allowed to happen in the U.S. Virgin Islands, under U.S. jurisdiction?

Why did intelligence agencies stand down—or even participate?

Why did so many Hollywood elites and political insiders go back to that island again and again?

What laws were passed, what policies were influenced, and who was paid off as a result?

The list of actors, musicians, politicians, and billionaires connected to Epstein is endless, and most of them are still free, still rich, and still making decisions that affect your life.

This wasn’t just blackmail—it was engineered leverage to reshape the world.

🇺🇸 We’re done paying taxes to elite pedophiles and compromised politicians.

We want names. We want indictments. We want justice.

We’re not letting this go.

NEVER FORGET WHAT THEY DID.

The image shows a settings menu for a social media application, specifically focusing on the "Timeline and note" section. The background is dark, with text and options in white and green. The options are listed vertically, with some toggles on and some off. The toggled options are: "Display the posting form at the top of the timeline," "Collapse boosts you’ve already seen," "Collapse notes replied to," "Uncollapse CWs on notes," "Always expand long notes," and "Show a gap between posts on the timeline." The untoggled options include "Display the posting form at the top of the timeline (Channels)," "Collapse files," "Disable real-time timeline updates," and "Show instance ticker on replies." There is also a section for "Pinned list," a search engine selection for "Search Engine For Search MFM" with "Duckduckgo" selected, and a "Note Design" section with "Sharkey" selected. The overall layout is clean and organized, with a consistent theme throughout the settings menu.

Neutralität ist was anderes!
