Hello, World!

I first learned Unix from NetBSD, moved on to running Linux myself in the 1990's along with FreeBSD and sometimes NetBSD. I'm also a former Solaris and OpenSolaris fan, and was an enthusiastic OS X user for a decade starting with 10.1.

These days my main machines are Fedora and recently NetBSD again. Work is programming microelectronics CAD software on RHEL.

I made this alt with the hope of following more of what's going on amongst BSD users, rather than just running a couple machines by myself.

My favorite pet conspiracy theory is that the 2017 Las Vegas Massacre was a cover for the attempted assassination or kidnapping of a Saudi VIP. If true, it seems to connect to Trumps very supportive attitude toward Mohammed Bin Salman as he held Saudi royals in the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh reportedly torturing them before forcing them to hand over billions in fines. Four Seasons at the time was part owned by Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud (Bill Gates bought his share out in 2021). It's not exactly retrocomputing but it kind of is. Someone has started a project to make an Apple Lisa-like UI that runs in the browser. It's not just a font/icon thing. The way you did things on Lisa was very different than how we do things nowadays. It was a document-centric not app-centric workflow. It's pretty neat and pretty faithful representation. At first I thought it was infinitemac.org project which runs Mac and NeXT emulators in the browser running the real operating systems. He's now the US commerce sec, a role previously filled in the first Trump presidency by Wilbur Ross, Director of Rothschild, LTD during the 1990 Trump bankruptcy bailout.

Spain, Ireland and China to join more than 20 states to declare ‘concrete measures’ against Israel
More than 20 countries are convening in Bogota next week to declare “concrete measures against Israel’s violations of international law”, diplomats told Middle East Eye.

The “emergency summit” is due to be held on 15-16 July, co-hosted by the governments of Colombia and South Africa as co-chairs of The Hague Group, to coordinate diplomatic and legal action to counter what they describe as “a climate of impunity” enabled by Israel and its powerful allies.

The founding members of the group included Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, Malaysia, Namibia, Senegal and South Africa.

States due to take part in the summit include Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Cuba, Djibouti, Honduras, Indonesia, Ireland, Lebanon, Malaysia, Namibia, Nicaragua, Oman, Portugal, Spain, Qatar, Turkey, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Uruguay, and Palestine.

The University of Pennsylvania did the right thing and changed its policy, but Newsom is stubborn as heck. With all the problems facing California (immigration, crime, drugs, homelessness, etc.) and a 12 billion budget deficit, Newsom and the Dems chose to pander to trans activists.

This didn't have to happen, and it's all on Newsom and the Democrats in Sacramento. They were given the chance to comply, but flat out refused to sign a resolution agreement.
