I think the real precedent isn’t the Nazis but Stalin’s brutal ethnic deportations after WW2, which killed at least hundreds of thousands, in some cases the majority of the deported group.
Stalin did. Forced population transfers were a favored tactic. Ukraine hasn't forgotten about the forced transfer of the Crimean Tatars. Pre-WWII, many thousands of Jews were deported to Siberia from e.g. Lithuania and Belarus. Post-WWII there were different forced transfers in different directions. It goes without saying that this killed people, a lot of people.
You underestimate the “can do spirit” of Americans, perhaps. Efficient disposal solutions will likely become quickly necessary just to cover up the nuisance and bother. I doubt many supporters of the regime have serious qualms about this. It will be cheap, politically.

It was Timothy Snyder's book "Black Earth" that opened my eyes to the reality that deporting people at scale is impossible, that keeping people alive in captivity is difficult and expensive, and that it was incompetence in addition to evil which caused the Nazi concentration camps to become death camps.
