If you're after the best shrimp, here's the scoop: Gulf brown shrimp are a bold choice with their iodine-rich flavor, while Argentine reds are tender and perfect for sautéing. For a sweet, lobster-like taste, Royal Reds from the Gulf of Mexico are unbeatable. Trader Joe's Wild Raw Argentinian Red Shrimp also gets high marks. And if you're into frozen options, brands like Northern Chef and Aqua Star rank well. Happy shrimping, @anemone!

#There is no such thing as "gun violence".
This is a focus-group-driven buzzword and talking point to create an imaginary bogeyman as the main anti 2nd Amendment propaganda tool. There are PEOPLE who commit violence with guns, but there are many more people who commit violence without them. And, since the term "gun violence" is a catchword/cliche, the title suggests an unattainable goal. People have been robbing and killing other people, using the weapons of the day, since the beginning of man on this planet, which identifies the real issue - controlling criminal impulses in humans, not the otherwise legal instruments they use to commit crimes.
Anyone who doesn't realize and/or acknowledge this isn't thinking, s/he is 'feeling', and our liberty cannot depend upon what anybody 'feels'.

I *love this*. As a translator... chef's kiss! 💋

"La merdification" - instant classic. Clean, straight to the point. Immediately recognizable to the EN/FR bilingual.

I am so going to be working that into my conversations.

English ones especially. Anglophones mostly won't know what I am saying, still worrying about their aunt's pen and a particular table. Or going to the library at all times of the day.

Thanks for posting about this. That was a good laugh.

I just thought of the most evil idea in history. I was thinking about careers, and how companies don’t want to hire new people, because they don’t want to train them, because if they train them they expect people will go to other companies to get a raise. Well that’s a huge problem, and it’s essentially insurmountable, and it’s why the university system is so bad.
I was thinking, what if, instead of going to college, a prospective worker paid to work at a company? They would get paid a wage, but they would have to pay what they earned back (with interest, realistically, since we’re being evil here), and in exchange, they got a paid job that would teach them skills at year 0 of their career. Of course the paying intern would have every incentive to leave ASAP, but the company would get their money back and would be paid to train their employee. Sounds incredibly fucked up but idk, it could work? There has to be some way for the company to monetize transferring skills to year 0 workers, and they’re not going to open up the kindness of their heart to them, because that’s why we’re getting all these H1bs. And it’s kinda like a startup when you think about it. You get money to develop your idea into a project, but instead you get money to kickstart your career. Then you could get year 0 experience at a good company, and possibly pay less than you would for a student loan with dubious positive outcomes, while living off the work. Just an idea. Maybe someone will kill me in me sleep tonight for it.

@collappsar @RustyCrab @mrsaturday this works in the ideal world where some people did not hitch their livelihoods to the arbitrations of TikTok, YouTube and the rest.
Also to erm aktually it's not the payment processors it's the advertisers who think it's bad brand recognition or something to advertise some shitty car next to a guy that says fuck in a video once

I'm not sure if this is a thing already but it might improve the situation if advertisers could select the "level" of content restriction they're comfortable with advertising on (e.g "fuck" is ok but I don't want my car ad on bum fights). I know they can select for categories (e.g politics) but that doesn't necessarily translate well.

Automation Enhancement and Intelligent Control Optimization in Continuous Pyrolysis Processes

With increasingly strict environmental regulations and growing demand for waste resource utilization, continuous pyrolysis technology has seen wider application in the treatment of waste tires, plastics, and organic materials. To improve pyrolysis efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and ensure product quality, automation and intelligent control have become key development directions in the industry.

  1. Current Status of Automation in Continuous Pyrolysis

Automatic Temperature and Pressure Regulation

Modern continuous pyrolysis plant is equipped with multi-point temperature and pressure sensors for real-time monitoring of each reactor zone and system pressure.

Automated control systems can adjust heating power and feed rate according to preset programs, improving pyrolysis efficiency.

Automated Feed and Residue Handling

Materials are continuously fed into the reactor via screw conveyors or pneumatic transport.

By-products such as carbon black and char are automatically discharged, reducing manual operation and improving safety.

Automated Product Collection and Separation

Gas, liquid, and solid products are collected and condensed via pipelines and separators.

By-products can be efficiently recovered, e.g., pyrolysis oil can be directly stored or sent to downstream refining processes.

  1. Intelligent Control Optimization Technologies

Model Predictive Control (MPC)

Uses pyrolysis reaction kinetics models and system state predictions to implement combined feedforward and feedback control.

Optimizes temperature profiles, feed rates, and residue discharge timing, improving product yield and quality stability.

Machine Learning and Data-Driven Optimization

Real-time data such as temperature, pressure, and gas composition are collected to build product quality prediction models.

The system autonomously adjusts parameters based on historical data for dynamic optimization.

Fault Diagnosis and Intelligent Alarms

Automatically detects sensor anomalies, blockages, and over-temperature conditions.

Provides early warnings to reduce downtime and enhance equipment safety.

Remote Monitoring and Digital Twin Technology

IoT enables remote monitoring and operation.

Digital twins simulate reactor operations for optimization experiments, fault prediction, and maintenance planning.

  1. Advantages of Automation and Intelligent Control

Improved Efficiency: Enables continuous high-load operation with minimal downtime.

Stable Product Quality: Precise control of temperature, pressure, and feed ratios ensures consistent outputs such as pyrolysis oil and carbon black.

Reduced Energy and Labor Costs: Automation minimizes human intervention and optimizes energy use.

Enhanced Safety: Intelligent monitoring systems detect anomalies early, preventing accidents.

  1. Future Development Directions

Deep Integration of Artificial Intelligence

More precise self-learning control systems for fully autonomous optimization.

Full-Process Digital Management

From material reception to pyrolysis and product separation, enabling digitalized, traceable production.

Green and Intelligent Plant Construction

Integration with energy storage, waste heat recovery, and emission control systems to build highly efficient and environmentally friendly pyrolysis facilities.

Conclusion
Automation and intelligent control in continuous pyrolysis processes not only improve production efficiency and safety but also provide technical support for high-value utilization of waste resources. With the integration of AI, IoT, and digital twin technologies, future continuous pyrolysis systems are moving toward greener, more efficient, and highly intelligent operations.

One of the coolest things about attempting to grow native plants in a basic hydroponic system is that I get to watch the plants adapt to a sharp change in environment (after transplantation from outdoors). I'm getting used to the fact that there are plants that can make the transition and those that can't, but also seeing some really interesting cases where it looks like the plant is dying a slow death, going into dormancy, and then experiencing a delayed 'rebirth'. Its a really neat example of the modularity of plants. See alt text. #AltText #Gardening #NativePlants #Hydroponics #Plants
