Anyone reading this in the continental US looking for an antique but well preserved baby grand piano (that will see use?). My friend Anna is executor of her parents estate and she really wants to re-home the family piano that her family has owned for 100+ years. The estate will pay for shipping anywhere in the continental US.

She acknowledges that baby grand pianos and pianos in general are out of style but this would mean a lot to her after a rough year.

Please share!

Up at 4AM this morning.
Ate a bowl of oatmeal.
Did a load of laundry.
Filled up the diesel tank in my truck.
And stopped off at BK for a 2nd breakfast because when you wake up at 4am you get hungry again around 9:30!
I got more shit accomplished today before 10am than I normally do all freakin' day.
And now I'm ready for this day to be over.

  • Otto Kuusinen: As long as the working class wages only an economic struggle, the bourgeoisie does not see in that any great danger for itself; but when the working class organises politically, i.e., creates a political party which expresses its will as a class, the bourgeoisie begins seriously to fear for its rule. That is why reaction deals its main blows against the political party of the working class. At the same time, trying to undermine the party from within, capitalist propaganda endeavours to persuade the workers that they can do without their own party. One of the manifestations of bourgeois influence on the working class is the anarchist and anarcho-syndicalist denial of the leading role of a political party.

Für die Menschen unter uns. ✨

Ich der den Hut vor keinem zieht,
vor keinem Herren niederkniet
und dessen Nacken nicht lernt sich zu neigen.
Ich komm, weil ich dir sagen will,
Dein Beispiel macht mich klein und still
Hab Dank für deine Zeit.
Hab Dank für deine Freundlichkeit,
für die Arbeit deiner Hände,
für den Mut der Wiederstände
überwindet, und alle Engstirnigkeit.

Hab Dank für deine Zeit.
Du, die im Altenheim wie's heißt
geduldig zuzuhören weist,
wo wir die alten Leute nur verwalten.
Denen, die dort vergessen sind,
bist du Verwanter, Freund und Kind,
der einzige Besuch, den sie erhalten.
Du in dem großen Krankenhaus
machst deinen Dienst tagein, tagaus
und du besitzt die Kraft Leiden zu mindern.
Kein Ruhm, kein Orden der dir fehlt,
die Aufgabe, die dich beseehlt,
ist Trost zu geben und Schmerzen zu lindern . . .
Zu seh'n, daß es Leute wie dich
unter uns gibt, das tröstet mich
und die Gewißheit dessen ist mit teuer.
Ein Funke deiner Menschlichkeit
wärmt mich in unsrer rauen Zeit
und leuchtet wie ein großen Freudenfeuer . . .

As someone who uses GIMP very effectively for commercial work, I am increasingly feeling like people who say that GIMP isn't a capable alternative are simply ignorant of it's capabilities. Yeah, it doesn't work like Photoshop. Yeah, it doesn't work like Affinity Photo. Yeah, it doesn't work like Photopea.

But yeah, it does work, and works well. If you apply a bit of patience to learn how it works, then it's also very easy to use, eventually. Maybe it doesn't cover all the use-cases, but it's ignorant to say that it categorically isn't capable for commercial use.

I have never used any of those other softwares in more than a decade.

I still only use GIMP for image editing out of principle.

Still have to check every time for GIMP shortcuts because they are so counter intuitive. And there are so many counter intuitive things about it.

IMHO it have the same issue that Libreoffice. It was really made decades ago and never really updated. It's like that meme about workflows. In their efforts not to break workflows they have gotten behind in UX compared to other software.

Also development seems to be stopping to a halt with each release compared to other more modern foss projects. I suppose it's due an ancient codebase that's probably really hard to work with.

I use it. It can do a lot. But UX and development speed in GIMP is not up to par with projects like Krita, Inkscape or Blender (to name a few).

Britney Spears - Do Somethin' (Official Video)

Lyrics
Do you feel this?
I know you feel this
Are you ready?
I don't think so

Somebody give me my truck
So I can ride on the clouds
So I can turn up the bass like
Somebody pass my guitar
So I can look like a star
And spend that cash like

What you gonna do when the crowd goes a-yo?
Why you standing on the wall?
Music starting everywhere
So why don't you just move along?

I see you looking at me
Like I'm some kind of freak
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?
I see you looking at me
Like I got what you need
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?

Now you all in my grill
'Cause I say what I feel
Only rock to what's real
Baby, bump-bump
But I can't do that with you
Only here with my crew
You can roll if you can
Don't be a punk-punk

What you gonna do when the crowd goes a-yo?
Why you standing on the wall?
Music starting everywhere
So why don't you just move along?

I see you looking at me
Like I'm some kind of freak
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?
I see you looking at me
Like I got what you need
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?

I see you looking at me
Like I'm some kind of freak
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?

I see you lookin' over here
Can't you tell I'm having fun?
If you know it like I know
You would stop
Staring at us
And get your own space
And do somethin'

I see you looking at me
Like I'm some kind of freak
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?
I see you looking at me
Like I got what you need
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?

I see you looking at me
Like I'm some kind of freak
Get up out of your seat
Why don't you do somethin'?

Fuck
Do somethin'
Why don't you do somethin'?

The Night in Black May When the Mauricio Morales Revolutionary Cells Attacked a Business of the Cop Claudio Crespo with Explosives: Chile

Claudio Crespo has been identified as the cop who shot and mutilated the eyes of a young person on November 8, 2019, when the October revolt was in full swing. A few days ago, the CIPER media released body camera footage of the chilean police [1], in which phrases can be heard like: “we’re going to shoot your eyes out”, “let the fucker burn” or “all these fuckers have to get killed“. In other audiovisual recordings he can be observed tearing out a lock of hair from a detainee’s head and sending a photo of it as a trophy to a Whatsapp group called “Scissors” where it seems it was common practice for these miserable police to send records of their “trophies”.

Days after the release of these videos, the cop Claudio Crespo affirmed that “I regret nothing” and “I don’t give a shit”.

[2]Does this surprise us? No. The police is the armed wing of the powerful, defenders of the flesh and blood of property, modern pacifiers who for a salary have decided to take up arms against those who challenge normality and confront a system of life sustained by hierarchies and obedience using the various practices of political violence. In this sense, the words of the cop in question represent the dynamics of the police, who possess no codes at the time of confrontation and make morbid, mocking remarks as a kind of gesture to show their masters that they work to defend their interests. Like a gaucho hanging the dismembered body of a cougar from the pediment of the plots in Patagonia, so the bosses know about their work, unaware that, at some point, the hunters will become the hunted.

However, anarchist and anti-authoritarian practice has known how to hit them across the world, in every corner where hands and hearts are ready to plan and organize gestures of vengeance translated in small victories. From Kurt Wilckens executing the repressor Benigno Varela [3], anarchist comrades in the U.S. sending letter bombs to police stations, book bombs sent to police in Greece, an explosive expert who lost a hand and an eye in Italy, a cop wounded by the explosion of a letter bomb inside a police station in Chile. These actions and many more have demonstrated that anti-police action is always necessary and urgent because, as we have pointed out, they are the defenders of the flesh and blood of all the infrastructure of power and authority.

Anarchist memory doesn’t only remember comrades who have died in action or for other causes, it must also identify and recognize the small victories created throughout the years, and guarantee that these remain necessary elements to create a practical-moral impulse in the present and in the next steps. In this sense, it seems necessary to recall the action carried out a few years ago by the Mauricio Morales Revolutionary Cells, when they attacked the headquarters of Fullclean Security with explosives. This company was created by the cop Claudio Crespo after he was discharged from the filthy institution in which he defended the powerful. Under control of the miserable man, the company has won important bids that have filled his pockets – contracts with the police hospital for about $6.5 billion, $3.6 billion with the municipality of Lo Barnechea, and $40 million with the Maipo Presidential Delegation.

In particular, the night of Black May on May 20, 2022, a powerful rumble was felt around 11pm in the Sucre de Ñuñoa neighborhood, specifically at #2161 where the offices of Fullclean S.A. are still located today. In the front garden of the property, police found cables, remains of a brown bag, pieces of plastic, a battery and timers and the South Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office took over the investigation, having exclusive control over such matters.

We leave the full communique of the explosive action below:

Claim of an explosive attack against Fullclean Security

We have attacked with explosives the private security company of Claudio Crespo Guzman, ex-cop mutilator, cocaine addict and part of Chile’s fascist shock troops!

On the night of Black May 20, we went to Fullclean Security at Román Díaz Street #2161, Ñuñoa., to harass this mercenary who, unable to continue repressing in uniform, has set up a private company to exercise power and control as a means of subsistence.

Both the business of state and private surveillance clearly maintain the relationships necessary to perpetuate their privileges and authority in this place. Repressive activities are an essential part of their validation mechanism, therefore there is not nor will there ever be a state that does not imprison, maim or kill those who stand in the way of its ongoing devastation and violence. These activities are part of a continuity of state policy that transcends governments, be they right-wing, left-wing, plurinational or conventional. There is no need to separate the leaders from the mafia: every authority is equally bad.

In confronting this repressive reality, we show our combative solidarity with subversive prisoner Marcelo Villarroel who is still imprisoned solely because of convictions by the military court, legacy of the dictator Pinochet and perpetuated by governments and the intellectual managers of democracy, including what is left of the Boric government. We call for agitation between May 23 and 30 for the freedom of our comrade.

Because a powerful fire is only the continuation of a small spark, this action goes in memory of our brother and comrade Mauricio Morales whose ideas and practices of freedom remain a bomb that spreads.

We salute the comrades who keep the fight for freedom alive in the high schools and in the streets, disregarding institutional hope with fire and disobedience.

A fraternal and revolutionary hug to Pato Gallardo, tireless fighter who recently died, leaving behind a committed history of struggle in dictatorship and democracy.

Greetings and freedom to our prisoners.

We’re angry and running out of patience, do not say that we are few, say that we here.

We send greetings and strength to La Negra Venganza, Grupo Autónomo Revolucionario del Maule, Grupo de Respuesta Animal, Fracción Autonómica Cristián Valdebenito, Células Revolucionarias Nicolás Neira, Simon Radowitzky Anti-capitalist Cell and those who keep attacking around the world.

New Subversion

Freedom or Death

Mauricio Morales Revolutionary Cells

The cop mentioned the harassment action on his Twitter account, saying that “yesterday I was victim to a cowardly terrorist attack at the company. They installed a bomb and thank God there were no injuries and my family is fine.” Apparently, he doesn’t know that it wasn’t due to divine will that the actions against him until now have intended to besiege him, and not as the comrades of the Grupo Autónomo Weichafe Matias Katrileo said a few years ago, “We alone decide the materials, schedules and objectives and advance according to the direction of war… when we intend that the damage-destruction will be different. This is how we will do it, and all planning will point in that direction.(4)”

We bring this action to mind in the face of so many comments -even from “anarchists”- tending towards human rights, positions and discourses aligning with reformist, platformist and/ or popular sectors, which only aim to rearrange the chess board of power. The human rights discourse is not at all close to our ideas, since its very existence is closely linked with the protection of democracy, and democracy itself is the protection of the state. We call on everyone not to lose the anti-authoritarian sense of smell, not to submit in our discourses and to enhance our anarchic memory, our ideas and horizons for confrontation.

Kylie Minogue - Dancing (Official Video)

Official video for 'Dancing', taken from Kylie's new album 'Golden'.

Lyrics:

No one wants to stay at home
Nobody wants to be alone
When you come knocking, I'll be at your door
I don't ever wanna stop
I'm gonna give it all I've got
And when they ask me, "who could ask for more?"

Can't stand still
I won't slow down

When I go out, I wanna go out dancing
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah
When I go out, I wanna go out dancing
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah
I wanna go out dancing

I wanna go out
I wanna go out, dancing

This is where I wanna be with you
Your arms wrapped around me
And fireworks reflecting in your eyes
This is how I wanna feel
The wild kiss, the music reeling
Getting down, riding all the highs

Can't stand still
I won't slow down

When I go out, I wanna go out dancing
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah
When I go out, I wanna go out dancing
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah
I wanna go out dancing

I wanna go out
I wanna go out, dancing

Everybody's got a story
Let it be your blaze of glory
Burning bright, never fade away
And when the final curtain falls, we could say we did it all
The never ending of a perfect day

Can't stand still
(Can't stand still)
I won't slow down
(Won't slow down)

When I go out, I wanna go out dancing
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah
When I go out, I wanna go out dancing
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah
I wanna go out dancing

I wanna go out
I wanna go out
(I wanna go out dancing)
I wanna go out
I wanna go out
(I wanna go out dancing)
