Lenin: Everybody talks about imperialism. But imperialism is merely monopoly capitalism. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Quotes

  • Otto Kuusinen: As long as the working class wages only an economic struggle, the bourgeoisie does not see in that any great danger for itself; but when the working class organises politically, i.e., creates a political party which expresses its will as a class, the bourgeoisie begins seriously to fear for its rule. That is why reaction deals its main blows against the political party of the working class. At the same time, trying to undermine the party from within, capitalist propaganda endeavours to persuade the workers that they can do without their own party. One of the manifestations of bourgeois influence on the working class is the anarchist and anarcho-syndicalist denial of the leading role of a political party.

What is this "device" in Dolphin? The fact that's it's full is preventing me from doing some things (Fedora Aurora)

For some reason Calibre won't let me do anything because "drive is full" which I assume has to do with this.

Update: I believe I "fixed" the error with Calibre by using FlatSeal to add environment variable CALIBRE_TEMP_DIR that changes the Temp directory to something else.

May 15, 2025 @ 20:57 Good evening family & friends❣️ I guess the day got away from me, I'm not sure how and don't remember much about my afternoon once we got home, but I realized just after 20:00 that I hadn't yet posted my 2 posts for today even though I had been operating under the assumption all day that I had...SHEESH!!! So I got those finished up and now here I am - with or without my brain, I'm not sure at the moment hahaha! It was quite hot today, I am still learning how to keep this house cool (since we moved in in late Oct last year); today was my best test so far. I'm sure the new curtains to diffuse the morning sun through the kitchen window helped, and we kept the south-facing back door closed also. Once we had some shade at the front of the house (north) I opened the living room window a few inches and put the fan in front of it to pull that shade-cooled air in; I had the fan aimed up toward the kitchen ceiling. Anyway, it worked quite well! Tonight we are expecting some severe storms with tornado risks so I will probably stay up late to keep an eye on the Michigan Storm Chasers who are now reporting that these storms are starting to reach land from Lake Michigan; it will take a couple of hours to cross the state and reach us, I think. So I will see you guys in the morning, Lord willing...sleep well❣️🙏🥱🌛💤

if you have one of their blasting cabinets, you'll want to do that, and also install a bottom siphon feed tube instead of their dumb little pickup tube. after those 2 mods it becomes actually usable

Reason why I focus on Jewish culpability for Palestinian genocide(rather than abstract "Zionist" culpability), is not because I want to feel morally righteous(I am flawed⇒I cant be morally righteous), but because without honest accounting for massive crimes like Genocide & deflecting accountability by playing "antisemitism" definitional games, we allow similar/worse crimes more likely to happen in the future

Accountability requires honesty.

Did you know #Microsoft is shutting down Chinese universities by blocking access to their services? When will this come to Europe and the rest of the world? How dependent on Microsoft or Google is the day to day work in your organization?

Here's an example, one of many: scmp.com/tech/tech-war/article…

In our work documenting the social media failures contributing to #TigrayGenocide (dair-institute.org/tigray-geno…), we tried to be proactive in thinking about what we can contribute to the foundation of the new social media platforms being built. We also tried to issue a warning of the current rampant incitement to violence and warmongering on social media, preparing the groundwork for another devastating war.
in reply to Timnit Gebru (she/her).

From our statement, dair-institute.org/blog/tigray…: "We can't say that we did not know. We are ringing the alarm bells for what is to come and urge you to act with us." What does it take to stop the most violent genocidal & graphic content from being shared on these platforms with impunity?

Wonderful.

#Reddit decides to give me a three-day ban for the following:

- Discussion talking about rolling coal and how truck drivers that modify their trucks to "roll coal" are basically assholes.
- Lawyer chimes in and says technically rolling coal on somebody is assault but good luck getting that proved because an assault has to have "harm".
- To which I reply with the following hypothetical:
-- Say the victim has asthma
-- They get "coal rolled".
-- They have a serious asthma attack as a result
-- Severe asthma attacks can be fatal if not treated
-- Vitim dies.
-- Now the driver could be charged with voluntary manslaughter! (I would hope because choosing to roll coal on someone is clearly a voluntary act.)
-- Me: "Sucks that someone has to die first though for that [being prosecuted] to happen."

And for this Reddit has given me a three-day ban for threatening violence.
Reddit has so far gone off the deep-end it's like a fucking different universe over there.

There was not one single thing in my original comment that threatened or called for any violence.

So I go to do an appeal and they only give you 250 characters (not even a fucking tweet's worth) to make your case.

So I basically told them to read this. That this is my fucking appeal.

Think it'll help? I doubt it.

Anybody know when is Digg being re-launched?

Lenin: The dialectics of history is such that the war, by extraordinarily expediting the transformation of monopoly capitalism into state-monopoly capitalism, has thereby extraordinarily advanced mankind towards socialism. Imperialist war is the eve of socialist revolution. And this not only because the horrors of the war give rise to proletarian revolt—no revolt can bring about socialism unless the economic conditions for socialism are ripe—but because state-monopoly capitalism is a complete material preparation for socialism, the threshold of socialism, a rung on the ladder of history between which and the rung called socialism there are no intermediate rungs. wordsmith.social/protestation/…
