Wherever there is Resistance and Struggle, there lives and fights Ibrahim Kaypakkaya!
We are on the 52nd anniversary of the murder of the communist leader comrade Ibrahim Kaypakkaya by the fascist Turkish state. The young communist leader from the Kurdish and Turkish nations, from various nationalities and beliefs of the working class and the working people of Turkey and the founder of our party I. Kaypakkaya was immortalized on May 18, 1973, in the Amed Prison after months of torture.
From the murder of I.Kaypakkaya to the present day there are lessons from the class struggle and the social practices of him to learn; this has proven why he was seen by the class enemies as the “most dangerous representative of revolutionary communism” and why he was murdered precisely for this reason. Comrade Kaypakkaya is still the nightmare of the Turkish state. Even to defend his views, carrying posters and banners with his picture on it is seen as a crime. This is not without reason, of course. Because Comrade I.Kaypakkaya shed light on the ground on which the Turkish state rose and moreover showed how to overthrow this reactionary fascist power.
The fear of Turkish fascism remains because I.Kaypakkaya is the product of the class struggle of our geography. It is the most advanced consciousness of the class struggle of these lands. As long as there are classes in our geography and the class struggle is continuing, this consciousness will continue to live and fight.
I.Kaypakkaya constitutes the communist aspect of the ’71 revolutionary movement, which is the glorious shake-up of the revolutionary movement against all kinds of parliamentarianism and reformism, which were defended in the name of communism and revolution in our geography. The revolutionary and communist movement, which was liquidated in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, the predecessor of the Turkish state, with the interruption of the struggles of the Armenian and Greek revolutionaries with genocide and the murder of the leading cadres of the TKP, including M. Suphi, reasserted itself with the ’71 revolutionary movement after nearly half a century of silence.
Within this movement, I.Kaypakkaya undoubtedly emerged as an exception. His being an exception among the revolutionary leaders of ’71 was not because he was murdered in torture as a young communist leader who “gave his head but not his secrets” after months of torture. What made him special and the reason why a significant part of the theses he put forward are still current is his defense of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, the scientific theory of the era of imperialism and proletarian revolutions, and his understanding of dialectical materialism. Comrade I.Kaypakkaya is first of all a revolutionary in practice. He took part in the mass struggles of his period, “thrown into the vast sea of class struggle with his whole being” and by synthesizing the experience he gained from this practice with MLM and “throwing away the old and taking the new”, he led the communist movement to rise again in our geography.
The emergence of I.Kaypakkaya cannot be evaluated separately from the class struggles of the working class and the masses of the people, especially the youth in our geography. The developments in the international arena in the ’60s and especially the world-shaking storm of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution led by Chairman Mao in China found its echo in our geography; The class struggle evolved into a new stage with the anti-imperialist youth actions, the land occupations of the peasants and the great workers’ resistance on June 15-16.
I.Kaypakkaya took part in all these resistances and learned from them; The quality and path of the revolution in Turkey, the class structure and historical development of the Turkish state, especially the fascist character of Kemalism, the theses on the national question, especially the Kurdish national question, and even the theses on the class struggle in socialism, the communist party, especially the theses on organization and armed struggle are theses that he brought up through his fight.
I.Kaypakkaya’s strict adherence to the principle of being a revolutionary in practice first has caused the theses he put forward to continue to guide the revolutionary and communist movement while putting the communist movement in our country on its feet once again. Le terrorisme sioniste avant 1948
L’expression «terrorisme juif» ou «terrorisme sioniste» est utilisée avant 1948 pour désigner les actes terroristes commis par des bandes armées sionistes prenant pour cible la population arabe palestinienne, mais également les autorités du mandat britannique elles-mêmes. Depuis la grande révolte palestinienne des années 1936-1939, et jusqu’à la fondation de l’État d’Israël, le terrorisme sioniste a été utilisé en tant que stratégie militaire visant à accélérer la création d’un État juif indépendant, par le biais de multiples attaques contre les Palestiniens, en vue de les terroriser et obtenir leur exode. Il prenait également pour cible l’armée et la police britanniques. Il avait recours aux assassinats, attentats aux explosifs contre des marchés, des navires, des hôtels. Ces bandes armées étaient commandées par des chefs qui allaient plus tard devenir premiers ministres de gouvernements israéliens, tels que David Ben Gourion, Menahem Begin et Yitzhak Shamir.
La formation des bandes terroristes sionistes avant 1948
On désigne par terrorisme sioniste avant la création de l’État d’Israël l’activité de quatre groupes principaux : la Haganah, l’Irgoun (Etzel), Stern, et le Lehi.
1. La Haganah
En 1909 est créé le groupe Hashomer, qui signifie «la garde», par Yitzak Ben Tsevi et David Ben Gourion, en tant que première milice, avec pour devise «Par le feu et le sang la Judée est tombée, et c’est par le feu et le sang que la Judée se relèvera». Elle commence son activité par la garde des implantations de Galilée, pour se transformer par la suite en unité de combat.
En juin 1920, lors d’une conférence du parti Ahdut Ha Afuda, est annoncée la création de la Haganah (qui signifie Défense en hébreu), dans le prolongement de Hashomer. Adoptée en 1924, sa charte est celle d’une milice clandestine dont la mission est de défendre l’ensemble des colonies juives en Palestine (le Yishouv). La Haganah établit des liens avec la confédération syndicale des travailleurs juifs, la Histadrout. Ses membres reçoivent un entraînement aux armes dans les kibboutzim et les colonies juives, avant que certains d’entre eux ne rejoignent les rangs des forces de police britannique en Palestine. La milice conclut des contrats d’armements à l’étranger et en fait la contrebande en Palestine. Elle procède elle-même à la fabrication de certaines armes dans de petits ateliers abrités par les kibboutzim et les colonies. En 1939, un haut commandement de la Haganah est créé, avec à sa tête Yaakov Dori, futur chef d’état-major de l’armée israélienne, le premier à ce poste.
Au cours de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, de nombreux membres de la Haganah rejoignent les rangs de l’armée britannique pour soutenir la Grande-Bretagne dans sa guerre contre l’Allemagne nazie et ses alliés, engagement qui leur permet d’acquérir une riche expérience militaire et de mettre la main sur quantité d’armements. Une fois la guerre terminée, et dans le but d’accélérer la création de l’État d’Israël, les membres de la milice et de ses unités d’élite créées sous le nom de Palmah – 60 000 combattants et 700 officiers- mènent des opérations terroristes contre des sites britanniques militaires et civils dans toutes les régions de Palestine. Les services de renseignement de la Haganah collectent également de nombreuses informations sur les Arabes, leurs lieux de résidence, villages et villes, dont la milice a pu tirer profit entre 1947 et 1948 dans les opérations militaires visant à les expulser. Après l’annonce de la création de l’État d’Israël, la Haganah fournit les bases de l’armée israélienne et certains de ses cadres participent à son commandement, ou bien occupent des postes politiques dans les gouvernements successifs.
2. L’Irgoun (Etzel)
En 1923, le chef du mouvement sioniste révisionniste, Vladimir Jabotinsky, fonde à Riga, capitale de la Lettonie, le mouvement des jeunes du Betar. En 1931, les principes militaires institués par Jabotinsky au sein du Betar servent de base à la création de l’Irgoun, envisagée comme la branche militaire du mouvement sioniste révisionniste, à la suite d’une scission au sein de la Haganah. Cette bande armée est alors connue sous le nom d’«Organisation juive de combat». Elle a pour chef Abraham Tehomi, qui considère «la violence politique et le terrorisme» comme «deux outils légitimes dans la lutte nationaliste juive pour la terre d’Israël». Depuis 1938 cette milice est active dans l’organisation occulte de l’immigration juive en Palestine.
Après son arrivée en Palestine en 1942, le chef de l’aile polonaise du Betar, Menahem Begin, s’attelle à la réorganisation de la milice. Il proclame la rébellion contre le mandat britannique en Palestine et mène une série d’attentats terroristes visant des cibles à la fois britanniques et arabes palestiniennes. Les autorités britanniques le déclarent alors hors la loi et promettent une récompense à ceux qui réussiraient à l’arrêter. Après la proclamation de l’État d’Israël, Begin déclare qu’il n’a «pas libéré toute la patrie», son projet étant de créer le grand Israël du Nil à l’Euphrate. Il parvient cependant à un accord avec le gouvernement provisoire de Tel-Aviv pour la transformation de la milice de l’Irgoun en mouvement politique après son désarmement. C’est la naissance du Herout (Liberté), qui devait plus tard contribuer à la formation du Likoud.
3. Le Stern
C’est d’une scission de l’Irgoun qu’est créée, en 1940, sous la conduite d’Abraham Stern, alias Yaïr, la milice qui portera le nom de son fondateur. Les dissidents ont en effet un différend avec les autres membres de l’Irgoun. Ils souhaitent poursuivre les opérations militaires contre le gouvernement britannique pendant la guerre mondiale. Ils s’opposent également à l’engagement des juifs dans l’armée britannique, et estiment pouvoir coopérer, d’un point de vue tactique, avec tout groupe qui soutiendrait la lutte contre les Britanniques en Palestine. Ils rejettent les institutions juives nées sous la houlette du mandat britannique. Stern écrit à ce propos : «Nos leaders actuels ne savent absolument pas dire non (aux Britanniques). Ce sont des juifs du ghetto et leur mentalité n’a pas changé. Il nous appartient à nous, petite minorité, de déclarer la guerre au nom du peuple, les masses nous suivront de gré ou de force». Abraham Stern appelle à la création d’un État qui s’étende du Nil à l’Euphrate. Il cherche à nouer des contacts avec les fascistes italiens dans le but d’affaiblir l’emprise britannique sur le Moyen-Orient. La milice organise sous son commandement des braquages ainsi que des tentatives d’assassinat visant des responsables britanniques et des membres juifs de la police britannique considérés comme des «collaborateurs».
4. Le Lehi
Le 12 février 1942, la police britannique abat Abraham Stern dans son repaire à Tel-Aviv. Ses disciples forment alors un nouveau mouvement clandestin sous l’appellation «Lehi» (acronyme hébreu pour «Combattants pour la liberté d’Israël»). Le Lehi s’est rendu célèbre par son recours aux assassinats comme outil de terreur. Il se prévaut de 42 attentats, c’est-à-dire plus du double des opérations menées par l’Irgoun et la Haganah réunies. Le gouvernement israélien profite de l’assassinat du comte Folke Bernadotte, médiateur des Nations unies en Palestine, en septembre 1948 pour démanteler l’organisation militaire du Lehi. Les cadres dirigeants Nathan Yalin Mor et Matithayu Shmulovitz sont condamnés par un tribunal militaire à de longues peines de prison avant de bénéficier d’une amnistie générale. C’est dans les rangs de cette milice qu’apparaît Yitzhak Shamir, futur Premier ministre d’Israël en 1983.
Quelques-uns des principaux attentats commis par les bandes armées
Ces milices ont mené de nombreux attentats terroristes contre la population arabe palestinienne, notamment pendant de la grande révolte palestinienne :
Attentat à la grenade le 17 mars 1937, le premier par un milicien de l’Irgoun, contre un café fréquenté par des Palestiniens. De nombreuses victimes sont signalées.
Attaque à l’explosif d’un marché palestinien très animé de Haifa, le 6 juillet 1938, par des membres de l’Irgoun, faisant 21 morts et 52 blessés.
Attaque par une unité de la Haganah du village de Beit Sheikh, près de Haifa, en juin 1939. Enlèvement de 5 villageois qui seront assassinés.
Une énorme explosion secoue la ville de Haïfa le matin du 25 novembre 1940. On découvre que la cible est un navire français, SS Patria, amarré dans le port, avec à son bord 1800 migrants juifs, dont des femmes, que les autorités Britanniques souhaitent faire partir pour l’île Maurice car ils n’ont pas de permis de séjour en Palestine. Opposée au projet britannique, la Haganah décide d’endommager le navire. Résultat : 252 morts parmi les passagers juifs auxquels s’ajoutent 12 victimes parmi les policiers britanniques, et 172 blessés parmi les autres passagers. Les marins palestiniens parviennent à sauver le reste des migrants du naufrage. Les rescapés sont alors autorisés par les Britanniques à demeurer en Palestine.
À la veille comme au lendemain de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, ces bandes armées intensifient leurs attaques :
Le Lehi tente d’assassiner le haut-commissaire Britannique en Palestine Harold McMichael le 8 août 1944. Deux membres du Lehi assassinent au Caire, le 6 novembre 1944, Lord Moyne, le plus haut représentant du gouvernement britannique au Moyen-Orient, visé pour son soutien au projet d’une fédération arabe dans la région. Les deux assassins, Eliyahu Bet-Zuri et Eliyahu Hakim sont jugés par un tribunal militaire et exécutés par pendaison au Caire le 23 mars 1945.
Le 18 juin 1946, des citoyens britanniques sont enlevés, comme moyen de pression sur les autorités de leur pays. C’est le premier recours du terrorisme sioniste au procédé de la prise d’otages.
Le 29 juin 1946, à la suite d’une vague d’arrestations par la police britannique dans les bureaux de l’Agence juive, la milice de l’Irgoun, conduite par Menahem Begin, décide de cibler le quartier général de l’armée britannique, installé à l’hôtel King David à Jérusalem. Celui-ci est dynamité le 22 juillet 1946, entraînant la mort de 91 personnes dont 28 Britanniques, 17 juifs, 41 palestiniens et 5 autres victimes de diverses appartenances.
Le 31 octobre 1946, le Lehi utilise des explosifs contre l’ambassade britannique à Rome.
Le 5 décembre 1946 le Lehi recourt pour la première fois au procédé de la voiture piégée, stationnée près de bâtiments à Sarafend.
Entre le 4 et le 6 juin 1947, vingt lettres piégées sont envoyées d’Italie, à destination d’hommes politiques britanniques à Londres.
Le 29 juillet de la même année, la même milice procède à l’enlèvement de soldats britanniques et à leur liquidation dans la région de Netanya.
L’assassinat le plus important demeure cependant celui du comte suédois Folke Bernadotte (1895- 1948), numéro deux de La Croix rouge suédoise avant d’être nommé en mai 1948 par le secrétaire général de l’ONU Trygve Halvdan Lie, médiateur pour la Palestine. Il s’évertuait à amender le plan de partage de la Palestine afin de régler les différends entre Juifs et Arabes. La direction du Lehi prend alors la décision de l’assassiner. Quatre de ses membres, revêtus de l’uniforme de l’armée israélienne barrent la route de sa voiture le 17 septembre 1948 dans la partie de Jérusalem contrôlée par les Israéliens. Ils tirent sur lui ainsi que sur un autre passager, le Colonel français André Sérot, chef des observateurs militaires de l’ONU en Palestine. Les deux hommes sont tués sur le coup. Une organisation portant le nom de «Front National» revendique alors l’opération pour maquiller le crime. La tentative de diversion ne réussit cependant pas et la condamnation des vrais auteurs est unanime. Une minute de silence est observée à l’Assemblée générale en hommage au Comte Bernadotte lors de la conférence générale de l’ONU.
Le 9 avril 1948 des unités de l’Irgoun et du Lehi commettent un massacre dans le village de Deir Yassin qui compte 700 Palestiniens, dont plus d’une centaine sont assassinés.
Les chefs de la Haganah avaient adopté, lors d’une réunion tenue à Tel-Aviv en mars 1948 en présence de David Ben Gourion, un plan global de nettoyage ethnique connu sous le nom de «plan Daleth», sur la base duquel de nombreux massacres sont alors perpétrés afin de terroriser les civils Palestiniens et les pousser à quitter leur patrie. Certains de ces massacres sont commis la veille de la formation de l’armée israélienne, comme celui du village d’Al Tantoura, au sud de la ville de Haifa, les 22 et 23 mai 1948, où sont tués plus de 200 femmes et hommes palestiniens. D’autres massacres sont commis au lendemain de la formation de l’armée, comme celui d’Al-Dawayima, au sud du district d’Hébron, le 29 octobre 1948, faisant des centaines de victimes, femmes et hommes.
Des musées pour honorer la mémoire des organisations terroristes
Après 1948, des musées seront fondés en hommage aux bandes armées sionistes, intégrant ainsi leurs opérations terroristes dans la mémoire collective de la «lutte armée» pour la création de l’État juif.
• Le musée de la Haganah
Créé dans la ville de Tel-Aviv, dans le cadre de «l’union des musées» qui relève du ministère de la Défense israélienne, ce musée porte le nom du fondateur de la Haganah Eliyahou Golomb. Il est érigé près de sa maison, où se tenaient les réunions des cadres dirigeants de la milice, et où étaient planifiées les opérations terroristes contre Palestiniens et Britanniques.
• Le musée Etzel
Créé à Tel-Aviv par une initiative de l’association des anciens combattants d’Etzel pour honorer la mémoire de ses membres. Il porte le nom de Amichai Paglin, chef de l’opération militaire qui s’était achevée par l’occupation de la ville de Jaffa. Il a été inauguré en 1983 par Menahem Begin, qui en était l’un des cadres dirigeants.
• Le musée de Lehi où la maison Yaïr
Créé à Tel-Aviv dans la maison où a été tué Abraham Stern, alias Yaïr, par la police britannique, le musée présente des expositions sur la vie et l’action du fondateur, organise des événements culturels et pédagogiques pour la jeunesse, des conférences et des journées d’études.
Conclusion
Les prédécesseurs des colons juifs qui épouvantent aujourd’hui la population palestinienne dans les territoires occupés de Cisjordanie et de Jérusalem commettaient dans les années trente et quarante du siècle passé d’effroyables actes terroristes. Les membres de ces organisations terroristes sionistes, notamment l’Irgoun et le Stern, auront été les pionniers de la stratégie politique de la terreur au Moyen-Orient. Après la création de l’État d’Israël, le terrorisme a représenté, à maintes reprises, une politique d’État, concrétisée par les nombreux massacres commis par l’armée israélienne et la répression du peuple palestinien sous la supervision de partis de gouvernement tels que le Likoud. Ce parti a été lui-même fondé par des cadres éminents de l’Irgoun et du Lehi. Si le terrorisme sioniste en Palestine a pu influencer le cours des événements au temps du mandat britannique, le terrorisme de l’État israélien contribue clairement aujourd’hui à dicter le cours des événements.
