Transphobia and especially transmisogyny probably are currently the greatest threat to women's rights.
Transphobes wish to create a world where women have to constantly prove that they are "really" women and show sufficient femininity before being allowed to participate in public life.
They want to make it impossible to participate in women's sports without invasive and humiliating investigation. They want women to be uncertain whether someone will accost them for entering a woman's restroom while appearing insufficiently feminine.
They want the ability to critique and control women's participation in the public sphere. It's fucking horribly regressive, and it *will* get out of hand quickly. It already is.
Trans women are an easily vilified group of women, whose "otherness" can be used an excuse to police all women.
Trans rights are human rights, and trans women's rights are women's rights.
Women have a right not to be scrutinized for how we choose to participate (or not) in femininity. We have a right to live our lives without proving anything to anyone. We should not need to ask for permission to exist in public.
Persons perceived as feminine are not granted the right of self-determination, are not granted their own identities. When persons designated "feminine" by society cease to perform femininity as demanded, it is tantamount to ceasing to exist.
For these people, to be a trans woman is to be a pariah. To be a trans man is to be a ghost. There is only one way for female-designated persons to exist.
That is not freedom. That is a denial of humanity.
Trans men are men. Trans women are women. Non-binary people are...well, whatever they say they are... that's a mixed bag of individual identities, to say the least.
People who want to restrict trans rights want to restrict human rights. They want to set the boundaries of what it means to be human and force everyone to obey.
As a genderqueer cis-ish woman (it's complicated), anything that hurts trans women hurts me. Any right people want to deny to trans women is a right that now can be refused to me also.
If there is a standard for who is and isn't a woman in the "right" way that determines how you are allowed to interact with the world, then women don't have rights. We have obligations. We have to earn our participation in the world. We have to prove we are deserving of it by the degree of our femininity.
I wish more cis women would understand that the way society treats trans people is inextricably related to our rights as women to individuality and self-determination and to our ability to freely exist in society.
The idea that trans men are "lost" women should tell you that they believe that your feminine body and your existence as a feminine person is something you *owe* to the world. If you cease to perform femininity, you have taken something away from others that was rightfully owed them.
When someone "grieves the loss" of "girls" who are actually trans men, they are saying that those men's bodies never belonged to themselves but to others. Especially when they talk about things like top-surgery or sterilization.
Bodies perceived as "feminine" are not to be altered because somehow it is important to others that we have breasts and functioning wombs.

I wouldn't say "don't exist". Quite the opposite. To them, trans men exist, and are a dangerous deviation from femininity, that needs to be corrected. Ater the UK Supreme Court ruling, it was made clear (I think by the EHRC?) that trans men can be barred from both men and womens toilets, for instance.

A friend of mine (now passed from cancer) was embracing the terfygirl monologue. She was a battered child, teen, and adult. She was very damaged and lived in pain. But even through that - she never accepted that a cis woman would ever abuse her. When her female partner of over a decade (of siphoning off my friends savings) found that friend had cancer - partner became ex really fast when they learned that the savings were gone, and (ex-)partner was expected to be paying for the medical expenses and household expenses from her salary. Ex had freeloaded themselves into the position with promises of future earnings, but when it became a real requirement - ex split fast and ugly.
Even after the ex was gone, and friend was facing the end, transwomen were still (in her mind) the biggest threat to her heath and safety in "women-only" spaces.
To her - her personal safety was jeopardized by their presence in (online/virtual) women-only spaces. I could not understand it, but I saw it IRL.
So - yes, transphobes and transmisogyny are serious issues, but I see both as cloaking of the true misogyny behind it.
I don't believe they are "bothered" that it's a threat to women's rights. Some who are "supporting" these, might not be aware, but those who are actually taking the action, don't care that women's rights are harmed. They want them to be. This is their thin edge they are using.

I'd just say "Whatever" The advantage of the fediverse is the decentralisation and the easy way to change to another instance based and moderated in a country anywhere in the world. It will be VERY difficult to find an instance based in a "perfect" country regarding laws and restrictions though. Still a discussion worth to do, although the "regular user" is more interested in the usability of the fediverse first. For new users: Start using a local instance and move/change if you need to.

The really interesting part is in the discussion section.... and it shows once more how incredibly well-designed the GNU Guix package manager is -- which solves these problems very very well, for arbitrary languages and with a fast growing distribution of, by now, about 50,000 packages.
I don't get that people constantly complain that the Guix project does not distributes or actively supports distribution of binary, propietary software. That is like complaining that Apple does not sells their Laptop with Linux, Microsoft does not sells Google's Chromebooks, or that Amazon does not distribute free eBooks from project Gutenberg, ScienceHub or O'Reilly.
And users can of course use the nonguix channel to get their non-free firmware or whatever, but they should not complain and demand that volunteers of other projects do more unpaid work. Instead, they should donate money or volunteer do do it themselves.
But guess what? I think these complaints come to a good part from companies which want to sell their proprietary software. Valve and Steams show that a company can very well sell software for Linux, with mutual benefit, but not by freeloading on volunteer work.
And one more thing, Guix allows to do exactly what Flatpaks etc. promise: Any company, as well as any lonely coder, team of scientists, or small FLOSS project, can build their own packages founded on a stable Guix base system, with libraries and everything, binary or from source, and distribute it from their own website in a company channel - just like any Emacs user can distribute his own, self-written Emacs extensions from a Web page or Gemini small-net page. And thanks to the portability of the Guix package manager, this software can be installed on any Linux system, resting on a fully reproducible base.
Guix is really making fantastic progress and is a good alternative in the space between stable and fully FOSS distributions, likes Debian, and distributions which are more up-to-date, like Arch.
And one interesting thing is that the number of packages is now so large that one can frequently install additional more recent packages on a Debian systems, or ones that are not packaged by Debian.
For example, I run Debian stable as base system, Guix as extra package manager (and Arch in a VM for trying out latest software for programming).
The thing is now Guix often provides more recent packages tham Debian, like many Rust command line tools, where Debian is lagging a bit. There are many interesting ones, and most are recent because Rust is progressing so fast. Using Guix, I can install them without using the language package manager, regardless whether iy is written in Rust, Go, or Python 3.13.
Or, today I read an article about improvements in spaced repetition learning algorithms. It mentioned that the FLOSS software Anki provided it, and I became curious and wanted to have a look at Anki. Well, Debian has no "anki" package - and it is written, among other languages, im Python and Rust, so good luck getting it on Debian stable. But for Guix, I only had to do "guix install anki" and had it installed.
This works a tad slower than apt-get ... but it still saves time compared to installing stuff and dependencies manually.

A simple step-by-step guide for setting up Server76 on Debian
Preparing the server
This guide presumes that we're starting from a minimalist Debian LXC container, setting up the username server76 and the installation path /opt/server76/. From within a root shell simply run the following commands to create the user and the directory.
By adding the user to the group sudo the user will be able to run commands as root later which will ease up the installation process.
The user needs a password so supply one with the passwd command. If you're feeling lucky, you can also delete the randomized password by running passwd with the parameter -d. Be aware that deleting the password will lead to security nightmares if there is ever an RCE exploit for Server76.

Installing components
Install necessary packages and add support for i386 packages (needed for steamcmd). Make sure to have Debian's non-free component activated in your sources.list if you want to install steamcmd.
If wget returns a 404, check out the project's discord for a new download URL. At the time of writing they were storing their releases with a simple ISO formatted date suffix.
Extract the archive's content to the subdirectory bin with p7zip. The directory doesn't have to exist, it will be created automatically if needed.
7zr x -obin linuxrelease_$(date -I).7z
Remove the archive if you don't like to waste space and make the binary executable with chmod.
Now dump your Fallout76 1.4.1.6 ESM and BA2 files into the ServerData directory /opt/server76/bin/ServerData. If you need to upload them from a remote location, keep in mind that you might have to enable login for the user if you want to use rsync or scp/sftp.
If you want to use steamcmd, modify the following script to represent your login data and save it as ~/download_f76:
Launch the script with /usr/games/steamcmd +runscript ~/download_f76. If you've activated 2FA for your Steam account, you'll be asked for your Steam Guard code. It'll take a while until everything's downloaded.
Once the downloads have finished, you may move the files to the directory mentioned above and tidy up your downloads. Don't forget to remove or protect the above script because you probably don't want to have your Steam account's credentials lying around in plain text.
Run the server ~/bin/Server76.Server once to let it build initial structures. This will take a while. If it fails with an error message suggesting that CSV files could not be found because the devs once forgot that Linux is case-sensitive, add a symlink with ln -s /opt/server76/bin/ServerData/CSV /opt/server76/bin/ServerData/csv. It also may fail because of a missing override directory so create one with mkdir -p /opt/server76/bin/ServerData/overrides. You may stop the process when you spot Verbose: World State Service ready....
Creating a service
Now add a systemd service for Server76. This allows us to start/stop/restart Server76 without lousy tricks like screen or tmux and adds a nice way of logging. Additionally, it automatically restarts Server76 if something went wrong.
sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/server76.service
Add the following contents to the newly created service file:
The process's priority can be elevated by lowering the niceness. A niceness of -5 might be a good start, so you might try to remove the # when Server76 runs choppy.
Now it's time to reload systemd, enable our new service and start it.
Server76 will now automatically start when Debian boots up. You can check it's status with sudo systemctl status server76 or it's stdout log with sudo journalctl -u server76.service. Add the user server76 to the group adm if you want to omit sudo for journalctl.
Add auto-update (not tested yet!)
While not necessary, one might find joy in having a fresh copy of Server76 delivered on a daily or weekly basis. To simplify the process we've already installed anacron above. Just throw the below script in one of the /etc/cron.*-directories (e. g. /etc/cron.daily or /etc/cron.weekly).
Don't forget to make the script executable. To disable auto-updating again, just remove the executable bit of the file.

If there is a standard for who is and isn't a woman in the "right" way that determines how you are allowed to interact with the world, then women don't have rights. We have obligations. We have to earn our participation in the world. We have to prove we are deserving of it by the degree of our femininity.

I wouldn't say "don't exist". Quite the opposite. To them, trans men exist, and are a dangerous deviation from femininity, that needs to be corrected. Ater the UK Supreme Court ruling, it was made clear (I think by the EHRC?) that trans men can be barred from both men and womens toilets, for instance.
The TERF "lost sisters" rhetoric, one camp further to the right, amounts to violent detransition, conversion torture, and ultimately mandatory breeding. The TERF crusades against "person with uterus", "menstruating people", etc. rhetoric has proven that excluding trans men from all things womens rights – contraception, abortion, etc. – is the plan and the point.
To say "trans men don't exist" is to miss the entire flip side of the coin which is not only to villfy trans women as a means of controlling women's public existence in general, but also to punish deviation from the feminine/female norm to the fullest extent.
Don't let them divide us.

The current climate is starting with trying to kill off transrights, because it gets the biggest buy-in with religious folks. But the project 2025 goal is seriously to return all womb-bearers to the role of property and not a fully recognize human.
transphobes are afraid of women being considered fully human, so they do everything to make sure that anyone they don't consider a "real male" are being subjected to enforced "norms" that don't allow for bodily autonomy.
transphobes come in all genders, too.
terfygirls who fear strong women are just as evil toward transwomen as the skeeered menz are, because terfygirl is afraid to or unable to stand up for their own bodily autonomy and/or life goals. It doesn't matter if the Person that intimidates them is AFAB&non-feminine, AFAB-transmasc, or AMAB-transfem.
These all are fully SELF-recognized persons. Terfygirl feels her entrapment, but instead of working to free herself - she must Oppress others. She does not believe in her own personhood, or it's been beaten out of her.
A friend of mine (now passed from cancer) was embracing the terfygirl monologue. She was a battered child, teen, and adult. She was very damaged and lived in pain. But even through that - she never accepted that a cis woman would ever abuse her. When her female partner of over a decade (of siphoning off my friends savings) found that friend had cancer - partner became ex really fast when they learned that the savings were gone, and (ex-)partner was expected to be paying for the medical expenses and household expenses from her salary. Ex had freeloaded themselves into the position with promises of future earnings, but when it became a real requirement - ex split fast and ugly.
Even after the ex was gone, and friend was facing the end, transwomen were still (in her mind) the biggest threat to her heath and safety in "women-only" spaces.
To her - her personal safety was jeopardized by their presence in (online/virtual) women-only spaces.
I could not understand it, but I saw it IRL.
So - yes, transphobes and transmisogyny are serious issues, but I see both as cloaking of the true misogyny behind it.
