For many years, several of my colleagues, a few ex-students, and at least one former romantic interest have fervently hoped that I would become an extinguished professor.
Their prayers were for naught. I outlasted them.

I work in a print shop and the number of patterns we print has been steadily increasing but we put them on 80gsm, not tissue paper. I wonder how many old school sewists will simply retire from their hobby once tissue patterns are impossible to find.

there's a lot of fashion history in all those patterns.
