Last summer, I was in the West Bank village of Umm al Khair, in Masafer Yatta. Umm al Khair faces ethnic cleansing and daily harassment and violence by the Israeli army and nearby settlers.
Our hosts in Umm al Khair were Eid and Awdah Hathaleen, two of the kindest people I've met.
I don't know that there is anything we can do about it. The Kehilla Synagogue has been leading the efforts to get them freed and out of the airport. There was a gathering at SFO today. Congressmembers Khanna, Liccardo, Simons and Pelosi have been briefed and said to be working on this.
I'll post more info in this thread if I hear of actions or opportunities to support.

Of course, there is nothing surprising about the racism Eid and Awdah are experiencing. We know this country, we know the current administration.
We know it all, but it still fucking sucks. If it wasn't enough that we're funding and arming those stealing their land and destroying their homes, the US is managing to also censor them and prevent them from telling their stories.

I'm still dipping my toes into self hosting and trying to figure out what services I would want to be always accessible from my devices vs those that could be awakened by LAN, and which services should be installed at the OS level vs as containers.
