in reply to Nick • • •The law isn’t moral, it is simply a tool of the state to regulate and oppress. You can only make the law conform to moral principles by political action.
The answer to “what the law really means” is only the first part of the discussion. The second part is, “is that what it should mean?”. If the law does not mean what it should, then it must be changed.
Because Labour are moral cowards, they are content to take the answer to the first question as the end of the discussion. #UKpol

in reply to Nick • • •Labour are avowed centrists now, and centrism is a form of extremism that denies morality in politics. There is no right thing or wrong thing to do, there are only middle things to do.
They've let the far right decide where the middle thing is on trans rights by letting exterminationism be one of the sides to find a middle ground with, instead of rejecting the idea of debating human rights *outright*, which a progressive party would do.
