Ankara büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Mansur Yavaş, Talat Paşa Bulvarı üzerine bir plaket yerleştirdiklerini açıkladı.
Talat Paşa, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun son sadrazamlarından, İttihad-Terakki Cemiyeti'nin kurucu ve yönetici liderlerinin içinde önde gelen, ideolog ve politika yapıcı olarak görülüyor. Enver Paşa, askeri gücü ve Osmanlı Sarayına "damat"lığı nedeniyle siyasi karizması daha parlak görünse de; İttihat-Terakki örgütü gerçekte Talat Paşaya bağlıydı; jandarmanın yanı sıra operasyon gücü de bulunan istihbarat ve milis örgütü TEŞKİLAT-I MAHSUSA da ona bağlıydı.
Dolayısıyla İttihad-Terakki yönetiminin en güçlü ismi Talat Paşa idi diyebiliriz. İmparatorluğun savaşa sokulmasının sonuçlarıyla birlikte özellikle 1915 SOYKIRIMI'nın 1. derece sorumlularından biridir.
Nitekim bu nedenle İmparatorluğun teslim olmasından sonra kurulan Askeri mahkeme tarafından İDAM'a mahkum edilmişti. Ama Enver Paşa, Bahattin Şakir ve diğerleri gibi Almanya'ya sığındığı için tutuklanmaktan, infazdan kurtulmuştu.
Buna karşı 1915 Soykırımı suçlularının intikamını almak için Ermenilerce kurulan NEMESİS örgütünün düzenlediği bir suikast sonucu Talat Paşa, 1921'de Berlin'de vurularak öldürüldü. Eylemi gerçekleştiren Sogomon Tehliryan, soykırımın yargılandığı Talat Paşa Davası sonucu beraat etti.
Talat Paşa'nın cenazesi uzun yıllar Berlin'de kaldıktan sonra NAZİ rejiminin, Kemalist Türkiye'ye bir hediyesi olarak 1943 yılında İstanbul'a gönderildi. Talat Paşa, yıllar sonra resmi devlet töreni ile toprağa verildi. Böylece İttihad-Terakki rejimine bir tür İADEYİ İTİBAR yapılmış oldu.
Oysa bizzat Atatürk'in liderliğindeki Kemalist iktidar, İttihat-Terakki rejimini aklamaktan özellikle kaçınmıştı. Bunun nedeni aralarında siyasi ve ideolojik bir çatışma olduğun değil, İttihaçıların savaş sırasında işledikleri suçlardan, imzaladıkları sözleşmelerden, yükledikleri sorumluluklardan kaçınmak için aralarında hiçbir bağ bulunmadıkları iddiasına dayanıyordu.
Oysa tarihsel gerçekliğe baktığımızda bugünkü Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin asıl KURUCU BABA'larından, TALAT PAŞA'nın; Mustaf Kemal, İsmet Paşa, Karabekir Paşa vd. gibi isimlerden ÖNDE geldiğini söyleyebiliriz.
Farklı etnik toplulukları, kültürleri, değişik din ve inançları barındıran ÇOK ULUSLU Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun artık sonuna gelindiğini gören ve buradan TÜRKLÜĞE dayalı bir ULUS-DEVLET'e geçilmesini öngören; onun siyasi-toplumsal alt yapısını hazırlayan İttihad-Terakki yönetimiydi.
Fakat çok geniş bir araziye yayılan imparatorluk coğrafyasında ETNİK bağlamda TÜRK öğesi hem içsel olarak HOMOJEN değildi, hem de çoğu alanda AZINLIKTA’ydı. Bu problemi çözmek için OSMANLI'da var olan fakat Tanzimat ile geriye itilmiş olan MİLLET SİSTEMİ esas alındı.
Osmanlı MİLLET sistemine göre Türkler, Araplar, Kürtler, Lazlar, Çerkes, Arnavut ve Boşnaklar gibi Müslüman halklar “MİLLET-İ HAKİME” (EGEMEN ULUS) sayılıyordu. Üç ayrı kümeye ayrılan RUM-Ortodoks, ERMENİ Apostolistik ve YAHUDİ halklar ise “MİLLET-İ TESLİME” (BAĞIMLI ULUSLAR) idi.
İttihad-Terakki'deki ilk güçlü eğilim TÜRK-İSLAM sentezi; yani Türk etnisitesinin önderliğinde Müslüman tüm halkların birliğine dayanan YENİ-OSMANLI kuruluşuydu. (Bugün Erdoğan-Bahçeli ittifakının yönelimi de aynı yönde.)
İkinci eğilim ise TÜRKÇÜ-TURANCI eğilimdi. Müslüman olsalar da Türk olmayan halklara fazla güvenilemeyeceği, bunun için de Kafkasya'dan Ortaasyaya kadar uzanan geniş TÜRK dünyasına ulaşarak bir TURAN devleti kurma fikridir
Her iki eğiliminde ortak hedefi, öncelikle MÜSLÜMAN olmayan özellikle de HRİSTİYAN halklardan (Ermeniler, Rumlar, Asurlar...) kurtulmaktı. “MİSAK-İ MİLLΔ adını verdikleri bir coğrafi alandan bu unsurları ÇIKARTMAK, SÜRMEK, YOK ETMEK her eğilimden bürokrasinin temel politikası oldu.
Ege Rumlarının büyük pogromlarla göçe zorlanması, ERMENİ ve ASURİ/SÜRYANI halklarının tamamen sürülüp ya da yok edildikleri büyük 1915 SOYKIRIMI, 1923'teki TÜRK ULUS temelli devletin altyapısını hazırladı.
Yıllar sonra AKP'li Milli Savunma Bakanı VECDİ GÖNÜL'ün de veciz biçimde itiraf ettiği gibi, " “…Düşünün Ege’de Rumlar devam etseydi veya Türkiye’nin pek çok yerinde Ermeniler devam etseydi, bugün acaba böyle milli bir devlet olabilir miydik?”(2008)
Peki Türk-İslam ve Turancı eğilimlere ne oldu?
1. Dünya Savaşındaki YENİLGİ ile İttihat-Terakki'nin kaderi değişti. Kafkaslarda Rusya’yı yenip TURAN’a ulaşma hayalleri daha savaşın başındaki SARIKAMIŞ BOZGUNU ile yerli bir olmuştu.
TÜRK-İSLAM sentezi ise yine 1.Dünya Savaşı (1914-18) sırasında ARAP şeyhleri ve yerel önderliklerinin Osmanlı Sarayı'nı değil, İngiltere himayesinde kendi özerkliklerini tercih etmeleri nedeniyle BÜYÜK BİR DARBE aldı. Böylece Ortadoğu, Mezopotamya, Mısır ve Kuzey Afrika’ya kadar uzanan büyük bir coğrafı alanı İslam senteziyle ayakta tutmanın imkanı kalmadı. (Tük devlet aklının derinlerdeki ARAP düşmanlığı, "bizi arkamızdan vurdular!" söylemi buradan geliyor olmalı.)
Kemalistler bu mirası devraldıklarında TÜRK ULUS DEVLETİ inşa etmek için yine Türk etnik unsurunun hem nicelik, hem homojenliği itibarıyla zayıflığı ile karşı karşıyaydılar. Bu sorun yine TÜRK-İSLAM sentezi ile çözmeye çalıştılar. Giriştikleri “MİLLİ MÜCADELE”nin esas gayesi RUM'ların ve ERMENİ'lerin yeniden anavatanlarına dönmesini önlemek, kalanların da bur biçimde tasfiye edilmesiydi. Bunun için "Dinimiz, devletimiz tehlikede” şiarıyla Türklerle beraber, Kürtleri, Lazları, Kafkas ve Bakanlardan göçmüş Müslüman halkları kendi mücadelelerine YEDEKLEMEKTİ...
Uzun vadede Türk etnisitesine göre daha zayıf görünen Kürtleri, Lazları, Çerkez, Arnavut, Boşnak gibi Müslüman halkları TÜRKLÜĞE ASİMİLE EDEREK, ulus devletin zayıf olan etnik tabanını güçlendirmenin daha kolay olacağını öngörüyorlardı.
Sonuçta Kürt feodal önderliklerinin desteği kazanıldı. Böylece Doğu'daki Ermenistan tehlikesi bertaraf edildi. Doğu Karadeniz'de PONTOS soykırımı Pontus Devleti ihtimali ortadan kaldırıldı, Hakkari’de NASTURİ soykırımı yapılarak tartışmalı MUSUL vilayeti konusunda avantaj sağlandı. Geriye İzmir ve çevresindeki RUM yönetimini ortadan kaldırmak kalıyordu. Doğrusu İzmir'deki Yunan birlikleri son derece hazırlıksız ve donanımsızdı; üstelik sava, karşıtı eğilimler nedeniyle disiplin zafiyetleri vardı. Geniş bir savaş deneyimi Kemalist ordular TÜRK-YUNAN SAVAŞI’nı zafere çevirdiler...
Cumhuriyet süreci ayrıca hikaye etmek oldukça uzun olur; kısaca şöyle diyebiliriz:
Misak-Milli içinde kalan halkların eğitim sistemi yoluyla TÜRKLÜĞE ASİMİLESİ nispeten daha kolay oldu. Ama hesaplar KÜRTLER konusunda tutmadı!
Kurulan şeyin VAAD edilenle aynı olmadığını gören Kürt önderliklerinin, İSYAN ve DİRENİŞLERİ'nin (Şeyh Said, Ağrı-Zilan, Dersim’in) katliamlarla, SÜRGÜN'erle bastırılması; Kürt dili ve kimliğinin RESMİ İNKARI, Türkiye Cumhuriyett’inin günümüze kadar Kürtlerle sürdürdüğü çatışmanın ana örüntüsünü oluşturur. Asimilasyon kısmen başarılı olmuşsa da Kürt ulusal demokratik mücadelesinin her zaman güçlü bir toplumsal zemini var olmuş; SİYASALLAŞMA ve ÖRGÜTLENME konusunda yeni yollar ve biçimler üzerinden direnişi sürdürebilmiştir.
Rum, Ermeni ve Yahudi toplumların geride kalanlarının da AZALTILMASI, sosyo-ekonomik, toplumsal yaşamdan tasfiye edilmesi programı sistematik olarak sürdürülmüştün; Trakya Pogromu, Varlık vergisi uygulaması, 6-7 Eylül Pogromu, Kıbrıs’ın Kuzeyinin işgali, Rum mallarının bloke edilmesi, Hatay’ın ilhakı…
Sonuç olarak bugünkü MODERN TÜRK ulus devletinin İttihad-Terakki'der gelen milli politikaların mirası olduğunu söylemek ve TALAT PAŞA'nın da bu devletin KURUCU BABA'larından biri olduğunu söylemek yanlış olmayacaktır. Bugün her boydan ırkçı-milliyetçi kesimlerin TALAT PAŞA’yı büyük bir iştiha ile sahiplenmelerinde şaşılacak bir şey olmamalı.

In the lead-up to the No Kings Day protests tomorrow, I hope you all realize how outrageous the Trump gang's assault on liberty is.

On Thursday, the head of their Department of Homeland Security said this about the National Guard's presence in Los Angeles:

“We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city.”

So yes: she *admitted* their goal is not merely to crush protests, but to seize power from the governor of California and mayor of Los Angeles. Today a judge declared this illegal. They will keep trying.

After she said this, a senator in the room began asking a question. Her henchmen shoved him out of the room, told him to drop to his knees in a hallway, and handcuffed him!

This is fascism.

for iran, capitulating to israel and the USA's demands isn't really an option. they won't stop until "regime change" is achieved which really means total destabilization, then ultimately becoming a puppet state or outright occupied territory of israel, like they are in process of taking over gaza right now.

iran could retaliate, and risk a nuclear strike from israel. israel can't defeat iran in a ground war so eventually all out war with iran would likely lead to iran being nuked.

iran's options aren't good. they could fold like syria, be destroyed like libya, or say screw it and launch everything at israel, and risk being nuked and possible US involvmenet.

Do local communities have any right to object to the imposition of alien, or at least unfamiliar, cultures upon them? Is it always irrational and xenophobic to resent someone because of their apparent refusal to learn the language of the country in which they have chosen to live? Is it similarly unreasonable to object to the amount of local authority resources devoted towards easing that problem?

Years ago, I suspected the new dishwasher detergent tablets and pods being heavily pushed were a ripoff. I put a tablet in a Ziploc bag and crushed it with a hammer, then measured the resultant powder: about 2 tablespoons (30 mL). That struck me as grossly excessive, in line with the "always fill all detergent cups to maximum for best results" instrux on detergent powder boxes (and then liquid/gel bottles).

So I bought a box of regular ol' normal ol' boring ol' dishwasher powder and started experimenting. 1 tablespoon (15 mL): dishes completely clean. 2 teaspoons (10 mL): dishes completely clean. Mind, I scrape off loose leavings, but almost no dishes get rinsed before they go in the dishwasher.

The math quickly showed that yup, the pods and powders are a complete scam. So for years now, we've had this what you see here under the sink, with a teaspoon measure in.

The dishes consistently get perfectly clean, but I've never liked that dishwasher-detergent smell they have after. It occurred to me the other night I'd stopped the experiment without inceeding 2 teaspoons, so I tried 1 teaspoon (5 mL — probably more like 6ish; I don't level off the teaspoon, just scoop-shake-dispense).

Result: dishes perfectly clean. They couldn't possibly be any cleaner, so all the marketing babble about the pods unlocking whole new levels of Ultra Platinum Extreme Clean are bulk wrap. And the dishes now come out smelling of…nothing.

I'm not gonna retire on the savings, but every bit helps. There's a whole lot less waste this way, in money and detergent and packaging and production. The powder comes in a recyclable-for-real paperboard box rather than a recyclable-nudge-wink-lol plastic tub.

As I've done this much schtick, I might's well make a complete job of it: Consumer Reports' latest test of dishwasher detergent doesn't include powders, they say, because most people buy pods and tablets. That's antithetical to CR's nominal mission; decades ago they'd've done my same math and experiments and recommended avoiding the scam and buying the powders they found to work well.

I'll need to edit that yellow label.
