Das ist Schwachsinn. Hochgerüstete Situationen entladen sich immer irgendwann in Kriegen, weil die angenommenen Gleichgewichte immer fragil, instabil sind. Ist dann ein Übergewicht auf einer Seite da, entlädt sich das sofort. Mit dem ganzen, dann verfügbaren Arsenal auf beiden Seiten.

But why? It's because search is really frickin' hard to get right, and expensive to get good at.

Remember that Google started as a search company, and they became king because they got really good at it, and it was their only product (at the time, anyway!)
The easiest type of search is "full text" search. It matches words exactly based on what you type in. For example if you search lemmy it would match posts that include the word lemmy but depending on how the content was indexed, might not match lemmy.world, lemmy.ca, lemmyverse, etc.
From there you start adding complexity like supporting AND and OR. You support partial matches (lem returns posts containing lemmy and lemmings).
Add more logic to remove stop words and articles like a, the, etc.
Put in some sorting logic to rank stuff higher (what's your algo? Recency? Votes? etc.)
That's just the tip of the iceberg... this problem domain is so vast that entire companies have been built around just providing searching as a service (e.g. Algolia), and it isn't cheap!

If I post a picture of a flower with the caption "Look what grew in my garden!", that's a terrible post from a search point of view.
Later on someone will search for "flower" but I didn't use the word "flower" so now search sucks.
Of course a much more common post is someone posting a picture of text, from Twitter, Tumblr, etc. with, once again, a vague caption. You remember the picture, but not what the poster actually said.
Searching comments will sometimes help, but that depends on the comments being related.

"Die Bundeswehr verdient Respekt" kann mensch dieser Tage rauf und runter in allen reichweitestarken Medien lesen.
Habe dazu ein paar Fragen:
a) Verdienen alle Menschen Respekt oder doch eher nicht?
b) Verdienen einige mehr Menschen Respekt als andere?
c) Ist der Respekt, der einigen Menschen in unserer Gesellschaft entgegengebracht wird, wirklich verdient, oder doch eher nur Resultat der Spermalotterie?
d) Was genau ist im Allgemeinen "Respekt" und wie entsteht er?
Deutschland feiert den ersten Veteranentag. Darauf haben Soldaten lange gewartet. Doch es braucht mehr als eine Festivität: Die Bundeswehr verdient Respekt.
...Der Witz ist natürlich, dass es bei solchen Artikeln gar nicht wirklich um "Respekt" geht. Das ist nur vorgeschoben.
Im Grunde geht es um die mentale Vorbereitung auf die allgemeine Remilitarisierung einer Gesellschaft, die sich nach zwei Weltkriegen ganz bewusst entmilitarisiert hatte.
Und um Sorgen über a) "die Verteidigungsfähigkeit" und b) "die personellen Nachschubprobleme der Bundeswehr".
"Respekt" soll dabei reines Mittel zum Zweck sein.
...Da bleib ich dann doch lieber bei Rousseau und seiner Fundamentalkritik an Berufsarmeen. 😉

Wir erleben seit Jahren ein Erstarken der AfD, rechter Narrative und rechtsextremer Gewalt. Das wollen wir als Zivilgesellschaft nicht zulassen und unbeantwortet hinnehmen. Antifaschismus sollte nicht kriminalisiert werden, sondern in seiner Gesamtheit als zivilgesellschaftliche Notwendigkeit verstanden werden.
Elias Engel, Pressesprecher des Bündnisses, zieht eine positive Bilanz: "Wir haben heute einen vielfältigen Antifaschismus auf der Straße gesehen: Menschen aus Jena und deutschlandweit angereiste haben getanzt und bunte Regenschirme in der Sonne gewippt. Wir konnten unsere Forderungen nach einem starken zivilgesellschaftlichen Antifaschismus einen kraftvollen Ausdruck geben. Der heutige Tag hat uns Kraft gegeben und bestärkt uns weiter, um uns für eine demokratische und freie Gesellschaft zu engagieren."

... genau das, was Demokratie in Wirklichkeit tut, wenn sie Demokratie ist:
Sie ist eine allgemeine Investition in friedliche Verhältnisse, weil sie die Macht und die Verantwortung zwischen allen Beteiligten gleichmäßig zirkulieren lässt. Nebenher vernetzt Demokratie die Menschen quer zu ihren sonstigen (privaten) Solidaritäten, was ebenfalls eine präventive Wirkung hat.
Würden wir wirklich Frieden wollen, hätten wir längst einen Demokratischen Weltstaat aus der Taufe gehoben. 🤷🏽

Nicht an unseren pazifistischen Sonntagsreden, sondern an unseren Taten sieht man, wo unsere Präferenzen immer noch liegen:
Am liebsten investieren wir gar nichts in die allgemeinen Verhältnisse.
Wenn sich das dann rächt, investieren wir lieber in Krieg als in Frieden.
Weil wir gar nicht auf die Idee kommen, dass Frieden, um stabil zu werden, beständiger massiver Investitionen bedarf.
Wir glauben: "Frieden kommt von allein" oder "Frieden stellt sich von allein her".
Das ist Schwachsinn.

Alles, was wir brauchen, um aus dieser schwachsinnigen Praxis herauszukommen, die in einem beständigen Kreislauf auf Kriegen, Entmilitarisierung und Remilitiarisierung besteht, ist Folgendes:
Wir müssen uns endlich dazu durchringen anzuerkennen, dass der alte fucking Thomas Hobbes recht hatte mit seiner Annahme, dass der Grundzustand zwischen uns der Krieg ist.
Und Frieden ein künstliches Resultat von sehr viel menschlicher Arbeit, die nie nachlassen darf, weil sonst sofort Krieg entsteht.

Und die Form dieser "Friedenarbeit", die immer und beständig nötig sein wird, "um den Frieden zwischen uns zu erhalten", ist eben die Demokratie.
Nicht in dem, was man heute für Demokratie hält, sondern in den ursprünglichen Formen von Demokratie:
Allgemeine Beteiligung
Unmittelbare Beteiligung
Gleichstarke Beteiligung
Nicht-parteiförmig organisierte Beteiligung
Das alles wird ermöglicht durch die ursprüngliche Verfahren der Demokratie: Das demokratische Losverfahren.
