When I worked at a hospital, and lived 10 min away from work, it was quite enjoyable to go to the office. I had a good team, and the environment was great. So, I can see the appeal if issues like commute aren't present.
I've been working from home since the pandemic hit, and I find I'm happy doing that as well. I also have a few friends who don't enjoy being remote because it's too isolating.

i guess best would be to let people decide and don't force them i like both aspects but i most often enjoy work from home due to the fact of my kids seeing them beeing around and not only in the evenings. Also the lost time in traffic. So as already stated let the people decide. And one underestimated aspect imho is all the people doing office jobs beeing at home reduces the traffic for workers that have to get to work like nurses and stuff.

Not buying it. When an office is properly organized (i.e. not a huge noisy open-plan with 50+ people not even remotely associated with the project you're working on), I much prefer going there to do the work, and actually meeting people regularly(!), instead of rearranging my apartment to fit job needs in addition to everything else a home is supposed to be.
@zir4n if you read through the article, it notes that the biggest factor is time people save on commute. I've had a job where I could walk to work in under 10 min before, and I liked my team. I did enjoy being in the office and seeing people when I worked there.

On the one hand, Lola is the sweetest cat in the world and I love her. On the other hand, I increasingly wonder if it’s safe for me to live with her. I am handling so much cat shit, often soft-diarrhetic cat shit, because she poops 3x a day and at least once or twice a day on the floor. I have to handle all that poop while I’m especially vulnerable to infections (due to requiring an immunosuppressant drug for Crohn's disease, and now Bronchiectasis, neither condition did I have when we adopted her lo those many years ago), all kinds of infections that most people don’t have to worry about, infections of everyday bacteria. I have to clean the mat she poops on every day, there’s inevitably some backsplash even when I use the garden hose in the driveway. I’m worried for myself but don’t know what else to do. @FlickMy actual doctors don't know shit about bronchiectasis, it's a rare disease. Specialists are few and far between. My Crohn's doctor is in another department and because they're prescribing Skyrizi -- which definitely works for my Crohn's -- they don't want to talk about the immunosuppression side of it, as that's the side they don't like. Having all these illnesses I'm kind of on my own here.

My tabby is a very messy pooper. I got him an extra big cat tray with a lid and door. He wouldn't use it with the door but once I took that off he is now happy to do his business in there. He goes in and squats with his head sticking out but it does trap all the mess inside. I also use big tray liners so it is easy to clean out. Maybe something like this would help contain Lola's mess.
Also have you spoken to the vet as 3 poos a day is a lot? Maybe a diet change could help firm things up. After my recent experiences with my black cat and her £3000 poo I feel I am now an expert in this!!!
Finally some cat litters are better than others. I now use a mix of a wood pulp and a dust-free/odour reducing litter. Some of the cheaper brands trigger my asthma. Dealing my cats' toilet needs in a way that minimises problems for me is an expense but fortunately I can afford it and I think they are worth it.
Hopefully you can work things out for you and Lola so that you can stay together and stay well.
@machaHaving bought them 2 new litterboxes recently, it's not the box. Covered, uncovered, high walls, low walls, doesn't matter. They get World's Best Cat Litter and have their whole lives. It's expensive and good. Both cats have IBD and both are on Prednisone now. Pred makes them eat more, hence the 3x per day. Some of those are in the box. But every day at least one is on the floor, sometimes more. This is a new (mis)behavior for Lola. She's going back to the vet Thursday for another urine test; if she still has an infection then she gets another round of antibiotics. I pray that resolves this, but I fear it won't. Meanwhile, one day at a time...
@LostInCaliforniaAs I said before, a self-cleaning litterbox only works when the cat poops inside the box. If Lola were pooping inside the box, I would just continue scooping it regularly, while wearing a mask. It's the continual mess I have to clean up due to her new habit of pooping on the floor that is breaking me. Robo-litter won't help that.
