My mom is safely with the Lord. She slipped away peacefully this morning around 9 am. I stayed with her until the morning, holding her hand, kissing her forehead, and softly touching her to soothe her. We listened to praise music all through the night.
I thought I did not have the courage to be with mom when she died, but the Lord came through and He gave me the strength.

As for the Russia story, nice to see Red Scare works as good as in America when they dismantled their healthcare for the military industrial complex.
They are also spending big on domestic arms production. France will be a big winner out of this since they've long valued independent military arms production and the rest of Europe will want to buy French stuff (yes along with American stuff) while they get their arms production up and running. South Korea is also a big arms supplier internationally.
The reduction in US support for NATO is largely part of a pivot to focusing on Taiwan and China. The US military industry would love it if the US focused on both and kept cozy relations with europe. I'm sure they're happy with the whole world increasing defense spending amid rising tensions, but they aren't happy about the US scaring away customers. I hate how involved the US military is globally but acting like Trump is some mastermind of American imperialism is reductive and giving him too much credit. The thought that Europe shouldn't be worried about Russia (the ones currently invading a European country) is bonkers.

Had my first phishing/scam email that purported to come from Bandcamp. Quite well worded (for once) and supposedly inviting you to an elite artist promotion scheme.
I forwarded it to support@bandcamp.com and within hours they replied confirming my suspicions, thanking me and saying they'd taken steps to prevent the Bandcamp page contact form being used as the phishing portal (that was how it had been done).
Excellent response by Bandcamp support I must say.

A federal judge has ruled that Anthropic's use of copyrighted works to train AI is transformative and fair use.
An important caveat is that in this particular case, the authors conceded that "training LLMs did not result in any exact copies nor even infringing knockoffs of their works being provided to the public."
The ruling says authors are still free to sue in the future if they can prove those things happen.

Not going to lie, it's stories like this that make me scratch my head. This kid has been "referred" to the Juvenile Justice System 7 times already and the Judge released the kid while he awaits trial for an armed carjacking that resulted in one of the victims getting shot and wounded, and the kids' accomplice getting shot and killed.
Kids in and around Albuquerque know they can literally get away with murder because the Courts will simply let them go, free to car jack yet another person, or kill someone.

@prolrage From what I hear they've been losing TANKS and other armored vehicles in Gaza. Not only that, these tanks are being knocked out using locally produced antitank weapons from Gaza's obviously excellent local workshops.
Retaliating against civilians whether with firing squads or with carpet bombing is straight out of the Nazi playbook. Thus we know who the freedom fighters and who the Nazis are in this war.
Such IOF behavior as torturing unarmed prisoners with acid and cigarette butts won't stop Merkava tanks from having their turrets blown off, nor will it bring back the tank crews that seconds earlier were firing at tents full of civilians.

They closed the door, and I put my hands over my ears like a child because I didn't want to hear them calling my mom and her not answering. When they came out of the room, one of them went to the linen cart and pulled out two sheets, and I knew why and I burst into tears.
I am so glad I was with my mom.
Glad she is Home.
