Our old HP printer won't accept cloned ink cartridges anymore. There's a chip that identifies whose ink it is. One suggestion was to take the HP chip and use it on the cloned one to mitigate the high cost for HP ink.
I don't use a mobile phone or tablet (not regularly, at least). I do not "every day carry" a mobile phone, but use my Linux laptop with mobile access point.
I understand that phones and tablets are mobile and more likely to be lost or stolen. Also data recovery off a phone by taking out the internal storage is not the same as with a laptop or desktop computer (physically not possible to remove internal storage).
Those devices are still personal computers, though, and I think the user should be in control of whether the data is encrypted or not and they should be the holders of the decryption keys.
You have backups right? I'd make a regular backup on a non-encrypted disk. Then you're less likely to lose your data because of some encryption key issue.
I would genuinely like to know why it's so hard. What didn't seem to work too badly was using scripts to automatically encrypt and decrypt with PGP. Felt a bit over-engineered but I wanted to use my Yubikey for it, which was cool.
@gabriel fundamentally, the issue is that the data requires code execution to access, and that code will require the key material.
A drive that allowed you to approve access levels/modes, and used bio-metric to confirm your identity, I think would be closer to the ideal.
I had the chance to talk with an Offensive Security penetration team, and they more or less told me that, their time in Africa made them realize that, in a physical environment, the person will always be the weak link. (aka rubber hose attack)

Not really possible, since X11 is only built on top of the kernel's graphical interface (same as Wayland). Even if that wasn't the case, the kernel doesn't delete any code that anybody uses (that's why 30 year old programs still run)

Sanıldığı ve iddia edildiği gibi savaşlar büyük idealler uğruna yapılmaz… Yeni sömürü alanlarına, yeni pazarlara, yeni topraklara ve enerji kaynaklarına ulaşmak için yapılır… Tabii savaş sadece rakipleri etkisizleştirmek için de yapılmaz, savaşlardan hiçbir çıkarı olmayan, asıl bedeli ödeyen işçi sınıfını ve sol muhalefeti etkisizleştirmenin de bir aracıdır… Böyle bir gerçeklik söz konusuyken de ‘barışçı olmanın’ bir kıymeti harbiyesi olamaz… Savaşa karşı olmak, savaşları durdurmak örgütlü işçi sınıfının, yeryüzünün lanetlilerinin, bir bütün olarak ezilen ve sömürülen sınıfların, politik mücadelesi ve müdahalesi olmadan mümkün değildir…
Savaş büyük yıkımlar demektir ve kapitalistler yıkarken de yıkılanı yeniden yaparken de kâr ederler, sermayelerini büyütürler… Zira savaş büyük insan kırımına, doğal kaynak ve alt-yapı tahribatına neden olur… Utanç verici olan bu durum, kapitalistler için yeni yatırım ve değerlenme olanakları demektir… Yıkılan her şey, işte, yollar, köprüler, tren yolları, konutlar, vb… yeniden inşa edilerek büyük kârlar sağlanır…

Kürsüye çıkan her yazar, dünya barışından, dayanışmadan, kardeşlikten söz ediyor… Harika şair Bertholt Brecht dayanamıyor, kürsüye yürüyor, mikrofonu kapıyor: “Yoldaşlar, gelin üretim ilişkilerini (kapitalizmi) tartışalım” diyor… Ben de artık sadede gelelim diyorum…

Ob jetzt so ein Buch ein BIO-Gehirn trainiert oder eine KI (unsere einzigen Haustiere, mit denen wir wirklich sprechen können) ist da eigentlich egal. Schön ist das nicht. Also ich veröffentliche etwa Programme im Moment auch nicht. Die KI kann es eigentlich einfach nicht, macht aber sagen wir mal einen schönen Roman, den man dann verticken kann. In Deutschland dürfte das Training einer KI ein Nutzungsrecht sein. Das muss man eigentlich vom Urheber kaufen. Für Nutzungsrechte gibt es hier eigentlich ein "Fair use" in der Art nicht. Natürlich schleift sich so etwas ein, wenn etwa eine Publikation nicht mehr vom Verlag verfügbar ist... An sich ist das hier aber in Nutzungsrechte geteilt. In Deutschland gibt es Copyright in dem Sinne nicht.

Hi, so I will try to hopefully explain as best as I can.
These are my devices:
Windows PC -> Cable Headphone1 output
Linux Laptop -> BT Headphone2 output
Android Phone -> Phone speaker output
What I want to achieve:
Have audio from all devices output from Headphone1 on my PC without having to use physical or software mixer.
What I managed to get working but sux due to audio stutter or delay:
Have audio from all devices output from Headphone2
How?
Phone paired via BT to Windows PC, using app on Windows PC called Bluetooth Audio Receiver gives me the ability to listen to my phone audio via Headphone1 (does not work for Laptop)
Linux Laptop paired to my Windows PC as an audio device allows me to set the Laptop as a output audio device for the PC so I can listen to PC and thus to the Phone via Headphone2
BUT, this causes phone audio to stutter via Headphone2 and audio from PC has at least 500ms delay.
Wish there was a way to forward audio from Linux Laptop to Windows PC the same way as from Android Phone to PC.
With ffmpeg in windows, you can listen to a UDP stream using the ffplay command. you can set up a udp stream as an output in ffmpeg in Linux. I would set up a virtual sink that goes nowhere in pulseaudio or pipewire to set as your output device and have ffmpeg listen to that sink. There are lots of options in ffmpeg available to tweak latency and quality.

Maybe pipewire and the ROC protocol? I'm not sure if it can be used on windows. You will have to refer to their documentation to get anything working. On Arch the package is called pipewire-roc. On Android the app you will need is roc droid. I have used it from linux to android, but have never introduced windows into the mix.
