Trump’s Iran War Backfires at Home and Abroad | Anti-War Vet Josephine Guilbeau & Greg Stoker

My father is a retired Army Officer. He was EOD. Nuclear. Also worked for the Dept of Energy. He still has Q clearance. We talked last night, and he is astonished by what we just witnessed. He said “that’s not the way war works, it was too perfect”. Not just the kinetic aspect of it, but the information warfare and media misdirection, while maintaining the narrative and managing public perception, in addition to juggling ...

untold layers of theater. It was an absolute masterclass in 5th generation warfare (5GW). I don’t think most people, myself included, can fully wrap their minds around the amount of planning that went into this entire operation, and the amount of variables that had to be accounted for. The air strikes were, without a doubt, the easiest element of this operation. The hard part was the information/psychological element. The real war was in the media and on social media. The internet was the ...

battlefield. He said that witnessing these past two weeks unfold, has made him believe that all parties involved in this conflict, must have already agreed to a deal behind closed doors, and what we just witnessed, was probably a massive scripted theater. A controlled “war”. The US, Iran, Israel, and all the superpowers, including Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and probably more, were almost assuredly in the loop the entire time. There was never a real risk of the US MIL ...

getting dragged into a ground war, and WW3 was never going to happen. Trump had the entire war won before it took place, and the entire operation was secure. The deal was already agreed to. The entire thing was scripted, and executed with flawless military precision. Trump had complete control of the situation the entire time, and warfare has advanced into an entire new realm, far beyond the comprehension of the public. The entire world just got psyoped, and most of them will never know it.

Thanking the @letsencrypt folks for the excellent work they do, and especially for their upcoming support for security certificates for IP addresses which is nothing short of revolutionary for the future of the (Small) Web.

@ErikvanStraten Yeah, a security certificate doesn’t guarantee who owns a particular end point, only that the entity that controls it has access to the private key that was used when the certificate was issued so as to mitigate MITM attacks.

As far as the Small Web is concerned, that’s a fact of life we have to contend with (I’d much prefer a decentralised system like DANE had succeeded) but I definitely don’t want more hurdles and/or information. You want to be anonymous on your personal site? Go right ahead. There’s no reason to prove that a person quite possible exploring an aspect of themselves at rainbows-and-butterflies.org is actually Jane Someone.

We just have different use cases, basically.

in reply to Aral Balkan

: different use cases indeed, but for ordinary end users there is no way to reliably distinguish between them - unless a different browser would be needed.

Unreadable domain names will make even more people skip looking at their browsers address bar.

A (quick&dirty) mockup of what I'd like browsers to show in case of an IPv6 address, can be seen below (of course I'm fully open to discussion regarding layout, contents and the "one year" period).

Note: important is that the user can distinguish between such information provided by the browser, to not be fooled by a webpage that fakes such info (how is probably device-, OS- and browser-dependent).

If ownership information *is* available in the certificate, the browser should show that - and provide an indication of the *reliability* of such information.

Me neither, but it may be educational to study the history of the anti-suffrage movement.

The leaders in the US were Mrs. George Phillips, Mrs. K.B. Lapham, Miss Burnham, Mrs. Evertt P. Wheeler, and Mrs. John A. Church.

ProTip: When you see that a cat is preparing to jump onto your lap, DO NOT MOVE. Any movement may disrupt the complex calculations being performed by the feline's inertial navigation system, potentially causing significant launch, trajectory, and/or landing errors. Disruption of these calculations can trigger the automatic deployment of the feline's emergency grappling and braking system, which has been known to frequently cause pain, bleeding, and other damage to the landing platform.

SO DON'T MOVE!

After much turmoil, the NATO alliance spent an entire day rubbing Trump’s ego, literally calling him “Daddy”, and praising his war with Iran, and now it looks like Ukraine may get the US made Patriot air defence missiles after all.

When they write the history books, future generations will struggle to believe the time we live in.

The Parliamentary Budget Officer, Yves Giroux, has stated that Prime Minister Mark Carney's spending promises, including tax cuts and defence spending, will necessitate significant cuts to the public service to be balanced.

In the last fiscal year, the federal public service shrunk by almost 10,000 workers, and Giroux did not see major cuts to the public service in the current main estimates.

in reply to Stefan Münz

@CattleBaron I’m not sure it matters much though. Because the state has seen an exodus of conservative voters over the last 4-6 years to states like FL, TN, and AZ leaving us with a majority lib population. And don’t get me started on the election shenanigans they’ve been pulling here since 2018. I am actually convinced the DNC used WI as a test market in 2018 for what they did in 2020 to get Biden elected.

The Palestinians of Ras Ain al-Ouja are the latest Bedouin community targeted for expulsion by Israel. They are being forced out through violent settler harassment as part of Israel’s plan to annex most of the West Bank.
